I transferred 3gb and it almost burned me!generate heat during write cycles, stay cool during read cycles, flash heats up during write cycles as it needs to change to state, read cycles don’t require a state change so it stays cool. i have one in my car for mp3 music, runs cool after data has been written.
Used one in my car and on PC and it's the worst. None of my other USB drives have run this hot even when copying files.
The write speeds on these are horrendous I get roughly 1-2MBs
Ew at that speed it could take a ridiculous time to fill its capacity, I'd be asking for a refund

Check how your motherboard is connected to your USB portstransfer speeds on mine are fine, but due to size are easy to loose, biggest i own is 64gb, i’d be a bit worried about loosing 256gb, unless it just has music or easily replaced data on it.
