    I have heard this comment before.
    Strange because I thought the red powerball was just pointless rinse aid. Maybe the powder's formulation is new and worse.

      Found the same. Our last ones from CW we got the version without the red powerball and its useless.
      Checked out Choice reviews and will switch across to Aldi tablets (Aldi Logix Platinum 18 In 1 Dishwashing Tablets Lemon) when these run out.

  I've found little beats about a teaspoon of aldi powder (cheapest and easy to use) thrown on the door for the pre-wash cycle, aldi logix platinum tablet for the main wash (although any of the cheap tablets will do), aldi rinse aid (cheapest) and not stuffing about and using the proper full length hot wash cycles on the dishwasher. The entire dishwasher finishes perfectly clean, as do ALL of the dishes.
