Crucial UDIMM 64GB (2x32GB) 4800MHz Black DDR5 Desktop RAM Memory Kit $799 (Was $899) + Shipping + Surcharge @ Shopping Express

70

For those looking for the big DDR5 GBs rather than speed, this is a pretty good price in todays market. Sale on for the next 11hours most places have this for $950 or above and stock starting to run low in most places. If I didn't have a pre-order for the RipJaws I probably would have picked these up.

1% surcharge applies for select payment methods.

Perfect for running Star Citizen at more than 60fps.

Haha ok. No real reason to buy DDR5 now.

if your motherboard is a DDR5 one rather than DDR4 then that'd be a reason :D

      • If you're buying a fancy pants DDR5 motherboard then you're not looking for a bargain anyway

    That's a killer saving.

      Yeah, bought 0.

    • buy it and scalp it

  • CAS latency - 40

Price isn't too bad but that speed is Slow.

    • Good for rendering

  • how much it would be if it was DDR 4? No rush needed here

    • If it's DDR4, should be around $300-350

    • Most kits are around $400-$500

      • Ddr4 4400mhz cl19 would cost you ~$600 for 64gb.
3200mhz cl 16 you can get for ~$300 on special

Keep in mind that these are dual rank DIMMs and you may be unable to run more than one DIMM per channel. So if you have 4 slots, you might only be able to populate 2 of them if you use these.

    • My dual rank B-die 4x16GB DDR4 CL14 kit laughs at DDR5.

  • How many Chrome tabs can I open with this?

    • +1

      2 at most

There is no reason to buy DDR-5 and its incredible scalpers are actually trying this on. When DDR-5 is relevant it will be here in abundance.

Edit : Not saying SE are scalpers, just atm in the US there is scalping happening pushing prices up.

    • Luckily unlike GPUs, we don't have an extreme need to get DDR5 over a decent GPU, so the period of being expensive for the next 2 - 3 years will pass us by painlessly.

Now I wonder how long we're all gonna have to wait to not have to buy a middle performance 60 series card for a whopping 700 dollars.

      • i think that's the new norm and it's here to stay unless there's a permanent crash on crypto that it never recovers from
