[SA] JBL SW10 Wireless Subwoofer Compatible with JBL Link SoundBar $39 (In-Store) @ The Good Guys, Mile End

1170

Went today at The Good Guys Mile End SA and they had these deal. It's only for instore , I checked and it's not available online. I am not sure if it's available in other store locations or States. It also wrote that in order to work you need to have a Jbl soundbar. Go easy on me it's my first post.
Link provided it's for a different Jbl, It wouldn't let me add the photo that I took instore.

      Lots of great reviews, though.

The JBL SB160 posted seems to be a good deal as well

  • Its a brick if don't have a remote or compatible device. I got a Samsung sub woofer brick waiting for council day.

Photo posted. I am not sure how good of a deal it is. I thought I do a first post here for the ozbargain new years.

    • Almost nailed the username too.

      Nice work

Does anyone know of a subwoofer that works with Google Nest Audio?

    • +1

      None. Too much latency

    • +1

I've been thinking about doing something similar for a while.

If you can pick up an old Chromecast audio, you should be able to plug it into a powered sub and add it + the Nest Audio to a "group" in the Google Home app.

  • I don't think it's available in Sydney NSW, probably only a SA deal, a good one though mate.

Got one of these last year for $99 as well. Bought a cheap plate amp off Aliexpress, made an MDF plate to mount it to the box, spent a while on it, only for the plate amp to be DOA. Then tried to convert it to passive, and ran an external 300w amplifier that I purchased off Amazon. Amp lasted 20 minutes, and then blew (Amazon refunded me thankfully). Sub sounded OK while it was working, but I regret spending the money on this project.

Thank you for share your experiences, you help lot of people here

These are excellent value even at 99.

I got mine going using an aliexpress amp. Some details, and am imgur album slowly disassembly, in my comment at the bottom of this post :

And the board I used, because it can handle the volts provided natively by the sub :

      https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005002970228466.html?trace=ww…

Does talk about not being able to take a mono signal but I've just used a splitter on my single amp sub out it is just fine. Currently sitting outside the sub box I just ran power/driver wires out through the hole left by the 'sync'button or whatever it was.

      • how do i connect this , if i buy amplifier, the sub or bar doesn't have RCA connector

  • It’s quite a decent sub. I have the link at bundle. As a soundbar it’s great. But something is weird with the ARC connection. When I turn on my Sony tv sometimes there is no sound, and I need to go to Soundbar setting and change input to ARC again. Other than that, it’s good for this price

  • i have this with link bar, but i need more base, how can i increase, i know it can do more with this big bulky size

  • OP thank you for sharing! Were many left when you were there?

    • +2

Only 3 were there when I left. It wasn't busy, and I think they were closing at 5 p.m today. So maybe there are few left ( just guessing) . Btw I haven't bought any for myself as I don't need any. I just thought I share the deal for others.

Thank you for your kind explanation. I’ve just seen your post and will try tomorrow. Thanks again😊

  • Says 169 in the link

  • It's because that's a different product. The product that I have posted it's not available on their website. It's instore only in that specific location. The product it's just a subwoofer and you need a Jbl Link Soundbar which you purchase separately. Photo here. https://imgur.com/a/YfEhnaZ

  • I will stock up if it is this price

    • I saw it instore only in SA. They had only three. I am not sure if it's the same price in other stores ,locations or States.

  • any stock in NSW?

  • Guess I will be going there tomorrow morning. :)

The Bunnings e cycle bin is always loaded with people chucking out their surround systems (as they replace them with soundbars… go figure).
I have a Denon system in my back shed and a Yamaha system in the backyard cinema…cost $0. Dennon has a 10" woofer, Yami has a 12.
*note - a 15 yr old girl on the door got cranky when i grabbed the Yamaha. Just said it was mine and am grabbing it back as i just found the remote. Obviously dont rummage through if it isnt sitting in plain site.. There will be one sitting on top soon enough.

    • Where do i find bunning e cycle bin

      • Harvey norman have one too

People chuck out all kinds of good stuff

      • At your local Mitre 10?

  • Will this work with cheap edifiers?

    • It's only compatible with Jbl link soundbar.

  • Click bait :)

  • Bummer the link bar is $395 it's self, and seemingly only in limited supply… If it was like $250-300 id be all over this! Good find tho OP.

    • True. I couldn't find the Jbl link soundbar cheaper than $395. I think it's on clearance at Harvey Norman.

    • you will easily get the soundbar for around $250-$300, i got mine for $285

      • Do share a link? I did some research and came up with Nada apart from, as OP's comment above, clearence at HN for $395.

        • it goes down to $300 in Big W most of the time, atleast in the past, i was keeping eye , when it was $300 i also bought 5% wish or big w gift card to bring down to $285

        • big w also had once link bar for $199 and jb hifi once had both for $299. so better keep eye, and if you wanna know more, just search in OzBargain Jbl Sw10 , then it will show you the all past deals

  • I have this already, much impressed… would 2 work?
