too bad not on oculus store so we can use our referral money - i have $110 sitting as credit there - thanks to everyone that using my referral code!

IF YOU HAVE A QUEST, get it natively there instead! DO NOT play with Link/Virtual Desktop over Quest. You'll have more technical issues and worse tracking. Even this game's developer on Reddit strongly advises this. Honestly I wish they could put that in the 'About this Game' description as a notice since it seems to come up a lot.
I'm still upvoting since this game is good and it deserves it, and none of that is the game's fault. But don't make my mistake by buying this from Humble Bundle or something that gives out non-refundable Steam keys if you're planning to play with Quest on PC. If you're a Quest user, get it there.

"[Play over Oculus Link/AirLink/Virtual Desktop Not Recommended: the tracking will be much worse]"

So dont buy this if you have a quest.

    • i guess if you have super pc specs that will help? mine is crap spec so i wont bother to try.
also if the game is not action pace like I Expect You To Die, would that help as well?

      • +3

I dont think its the PC that's the problem, it's the input lag/delay from Oculus Link thats the issue. Being hard-wired would surely be better than Airlink though.

probably just post this, sort by user reviews :D

walkabout golf for AUD16.xx too bad im not into golf

Walkabout Golf is a game I recommend to EVERYBODY when they get into VR. It's beautifully made, polished, and feels incredibly immersive.

Even if you're not into minigolf (and really, who is?), it's a great way to spend an hour hanging out and chatting with friends.

For $16? Just buy it :-)

      • +1

Agreed, I got my Quest 2 recently and have been using Walkabout Golf as the first example when I show people VR who have never used it before. It's very impressive.

      • Does it work ok over airlink/virtual desktop or do you have the native quest version?

        • I've only played the SteamVR version over VD. It plays really nicely for me - to the point where I didn't notice any problems with latency at all.

          • +1

@encoderboy: Cool thanks. I've found some titles to be hit or miss. Like Alyx is Perfect but Arizona Sunshine for me is meh (over VD).

            • @SaddenAscentAspirin: I hear ya! I bought Beat Saber on Steam, then tried it on Quest 2 native. Now I can't deal with the latency to Steam..

              • @encoderboy: One of the reasons I got the quest was so I could do custom songs on beat saber, wirelessly.

                • @SaddenAscentAspirin: When you mean custom songs, do you also need to create all those buttons to slash and make sure they are rhythm? (Placement, timing, etc) thats sounds hard

FYI the devs on their discord will match this price if you want the oculus native version, you just message them on discord, they give you the PayPal link to send them $14.47 then they give you a key to redeem on the oculus app. Very easy and quick

The real deal is in the comments.

    • +3

The dev's are amazing people for this game. They just love the sport and want to do what they can to increase the uptake, be it in VR or real life.

As a competitive table tennis player, it's really heartwarming..and the dev's literally are working on updates all the time, are super involved on FB and Discord to get user feedback/communicate with the community [on their personal accounts / cumulatively between their team] - seem to pretty much post daily on one of the platforms.

    • +1

Thanks, just did exactly that. Very cool of the devs

Thanks to @FullM3tal in the other thread here’s what one of the devs is suggesting to do now since they’re getting lots of people in the discord:

I spoke to the Dev and to make it easier for everyone, here is the steps to >follow, please DM @carrotstien

      message from the dev (carrotstien):
I have a steam price match policy for quest users. You shouldn't have to play >the game over link/vd/air link because it's much worse that way. Stop by the >discord, and send me a private message. The message should look like:

"Hi. I live in [general location]. I see Eleven on the steam store for [the price >you see]. Can I buy an oculus key for quest for this price?"

Please don't spam the public channels with messages about this as it's >distracting for other users.

PS: I'm in New York (EST time zone). So if i'm asleep, i'll respond once i wake >up

    • can we pay using oculus credit?

      • Sadly no, better off using them and getting it at the current sale price in the oculus store

  • +2

Someone said this will be on sale tomorrow so just wait one more day so you can use referral credit on oculus store

    • To quote the dev on discord “i'm expecting it to be on sale tomorrow”

  • +4

As someone who plays table tennis competitively, this is the real deal. Extremely realistic .

  • +5

I love this game!! I would highly recommend getting the quest version if you have the Quest. It's a much smoother experience. When I played it using Virtual Desktop, there was a lot of lag (could have been my graphics card or internet).

  • Yep, also waiting for the Quest 2 version to be on sale.

    • Read like 4 comments up, you can just message the devs and they'll give you the same price for the quest version.

    • +1

Yep wait for tomorrow if not follow above

  • +1

This game is amazingly realistic. I highly recommend 3D printing the Sanlaki controller adaptor for the Quest to make it even better.

  • This game is excellent, even at full price it is well worth the cost

  • Great game. Wish there is a single play tournament mode or tutorial on how to improve on playing table tennis

    • YouTube is your best friend.

For normal table tennis, any tutorial will translate well for ETT.

For ETT, There’s a few tutorial and even recording of classes posted by top players - search “Tame the Spin”.
