  • Keen for the A80J 77" but is on pre order on Sony's website. Anyone know what the wait time would be?

Not 100% certainty you will always get cash back with Sony. Happened to me last year, I had the cash back pending but nothing happened after 3 months, followed up with Cash rewards several times, eventually they said Sony did not pay them so they can’t give me cash back.

    • this one happens too often that make us concern a lot. When you buy a product with big cash, you expect to have the rebate because that is the reason you pull your trigger. Cashback companies blame stores, stores blame back, and we are the victims. This is so far a hit and miss for us, but alledgly a misleading, lure customers to buy things they want.

I think either cashrewards/shopback should be more accountable for missing cash than the seller. They are advertising heavily yet cash back is not guaranteed. Specially when large amount involved. Perhaps when everyone start complaining to ACCC.

Ad should be : 8% cashback only if you feeling lucky.

    • The cashback appeared in my CR account within 10 mins.

  • I missed cashback promotion from Sony, Should I give it a try tho?

    • Sony have factory cash back promos several times a year. If you can, wait for the next one. Then stack with SB/CR cash back.
Be aware that there is a small probability that either cash back can fall between the crack. With the former, Sony Australia is atrocious at resolving it (or lack of), with canned responses like it is being escalated to marketing team, or escalated to management team blah blah, but no progress, eventually ghosting you altogether…
