  • Damn. Thought I had a bargain at the $79 price. Its not a bad unit at all. About $120 at Snowys Outdoor

  • How is this compare to a Weber baby q

    • +3

      It doesn’t.

      • I am looking to buy a Weber but don't know a lot about BBQs… can you enlighten me how the Weber knocks this outta the park? I just want some flame grilled whoppers at home

My friends and I use a Weber Baby Q with lid thermometer for the last several years. It is built and screwed together like a tank, weighs as such and will probably last forever as it still looks relatively new after being out in the run, sun, beach, etc. There are a lot of easy to get accessories for it.

We use it several times a year and the robustness helps when it is transported in the back of a car. It can be carried by the average adult though two is better. If you intend to use it on trips and other outdoor locations, consider how it will fit in the car. In the back of a small hatch we sometimes have reorganise it along with the lpg tank, other food stuffs, and picnic gear but in the back of a larger car boot no problem.

If it is staying at one location a unit with larger cooking area may be better though the sturdiness above will keep it going.

Suggest those interested in budgeting for a portable table to go with it and the BBQ cover (if not included in the deal).

There is a lot of competition in this space but I would definitely recommend it for beginners and those wanting a quality product that will last.

You'll probably get the same result when cooking your $2 steaks

    • +13

      It is dramatically less expensive.

    • +2

Yeah it’s no baby q but for the price I don’t think there’s a better option for the casual camper

    • +1

      Not in the same universe…

    • +2

If you want to cook just sausages this is enough. Forget steaks and roasts.

    • +1

This bbq is much lighter and practical if you are bringing it out excluding the gas

  • Anyone seen at other coles?

    • Maybe check their online store

      • No joy

  • Coles Mac square has 4 in stock but for $79. Sadge

Decent price for a cheap portable BBQ….

I bought one off this place a few years ago for about $100-$120 so price is decent… the cooking is not (now use a weber baby Q for all my portable needs) :) https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/voyager-bbq.html

I make my own dutch ovens.

    • I know the deal.

I released my own fragrance once but on one in the car liked it though.

      • I think I saw in the reject shop wasn’t it called la crap. Heaps of stock

        • How cool!

Makes me feel a little famous.

A true Ozbargainer uses the free council BBQ

    • With complimentary leftover charred crap from previous users.

It’s nowhere near the $35 price tag but this new Weber traveller will be my next purchase for home and camping. It looks awesome.

Are you seriously a ozbargainer !

    • That actually looks pretty awesome! I'll be keeping an eye on the price.

    • +1

Will that cook 17 times better than this $35 BBQ stove?

    • This looks cool but laughed at the contradicting description that it is a bulky item.

  • I will have to pop down to my local and see if the price has changed….

  • Propane and Propane Accessories.

    • The Weber takes propane for camping or normal gas bottles for at home.

  • gonna have to check Coburg cause it was 59.95 there

  • I had one for about 6 months before it found its way into a skip. Not built up last, hard to clean, slow to heat up, cooks slowly and can't really use it with the lid open. Honestly, I wouldn't accept one if they were giving them away for free.
