  • Good price.
Last purchased $249 on david Jones or Amazon. That RRP is Gerry playing his old tricks

  • Any idea what this means - "The BoseQuietComfort Headphones is designed for Samsung and Android Devices" ?

    • -1

I'd suggest it'll be due to a Micro USB Type C wired connection

    • Bose has a model for iPhones and non-iPhones. This is the non-iPhone model.

I assume they designed BoseQuietComfort Headphones for Samsung and Android Devices

I believe it's the volume control and pause/play or pick/end call button.

It's probably not compatible with apple devices because they have apple version one as well.

      • What juns said is correct

        • What dangerdanger said is correct

      • the android version only has a single button, no vol +/- buttons. IOS version has those.

        Bose got lazy.

    • I'm sure it's to do with the volume control thing on the wire

Harvey should pay back his Jobkeeper payment first

  • So they're not USB C connector? Damn!

    • Nah it's just a 3.5mm jack so you can use it with your computer or any other device with a 3.5mm jack

    • These were released in 2013, before USB-C even existed.

whaaaaat? So $200 for what are nearly a decade old headphones?
        F THAT!

        • they used to be $300 USD rrp.

    • this thing is old. Might have even predated USB C. If it existed, it was niche at the time and not many had USB C.

im not sure on quality these days but I bought my QC20i in Dec 2014. Still working - i have reinforced the rubber fraying but still going strong!
Waiting on my next flight to use them again :)

    • What did you use to reinforce the rubber? Mine has just started to do the same.

      • +1

I ran electrical tape around mine.

        • I still have mine for long haul flights, can’t match that battery life and also can’t match the noise cancellation on planes

best ANC In-ear buds I have ever used.

  • -1

I had these, bought at DickSmiths retail store before they went bankrupt and paid $200… 6 years ago…

IMHO pay an extra $50 and get QC35 or XM3 and don't waste your $200 on these. No one wants 3.5mm jack ANC in 2022 ..

    Sold my QC20 and have XM3 and XM4 instead…

    • These are good for use on planes.

      • Lol so are literally all the other ANC buds out there

      • +2

I prefer in ear rather than over ear when flying. Qc35 and xm3 (1000xm3) get too hot and I couldn't sleep with them in. Qc20 are perfect

Also if I was on a plane again, I'd need it wired, to plug into their 3.5mm socket

        • Agree with this. For flying much comfier than over ears, plus they take up a lot less space when not in use - a bonus when traveling.

    • +3

Not everything is wireless or bluetooth. the 3.5mm jack is quite good for plane and online meeting with office computer.

  • Bought thanks OP!

  • I used to have one before I lost it.

The ANC was very good when turned on. When turned off, the gels provided no passive sound isolation whatsoever. Imagine how much quieter it would be if they used good tips with passive noise blocking. But alas, the ear gels are proprietary.

My biggest issue was the bad design of the large but flat battery pack. It was too close to the 3.5mm connector. It should have been in the middle of the cable or higher up. This thing will dangle awkwardly off your device. If they went with a cylindrical shape they could put a clip on the battery pack itself and would be more practical.

It's the best ANC of any wired IEMs. But I wouldn't buy it again. At the time these released, no one came close to Bose's ANC. Now people have either matched or surpassed them. But your options are basically TW buds, neckbands or over-ears.
