I presume these are the new models that aren't OTA flashable.

    • I reckon so, Tuya has changed stuff at the backend and made it all quite complicated now.

    • The newer TUYA stuff doesn't even use ESP chips, not sure about these though. I have an older RGBW genio one that I flashed but a newer brilliant one that I couldn't, using the non-ESP chip.

Had a bad xp with this brand. Phillips is much durable imo.

Philips is also significantly more expensive tbf

What's the issue with these? I've got 4 (2 colour, 2 white), google turns them on/off, brightens, changes colour & 2 of them are auto on/off (one in the lounge at 11pm to remind me its bedtime, another bedside lamp comes on at 6am).

  • This isn't the colour model from what I can tell. For $5 more (when on sale) you get the colour one.

Also, foodeal is right, I've got these and they've now messed with the Tuya app backend, I'm not sure the full extent of the changes, but adding these to home assistant isn't very fun.

    • Adding Tuya items to Home Assistant is pretty easy.

Taking them out of the cloud and making them locally controlled is what's painful.

      • Didn't they entirely change how to do this?

        • Yeah, bit it's no big deal compared to any number of other PITA things for Home Assistant. Just need to set up a Tuya dev account, and link it.

I’ve got 10 of these in my house and never had an issue, they are great and no base station required.

  • E27/ES globe base is $4 more…

  • I've had no problems with these, except when I happened to have two routers on my network both doing DHCP and giving out conflicting IP addresses. Their tech support is local, which is nice. I use these with Google, SmartLife and HomeAssistant all concurrently. They also work with SmartThings.

  • Do you know how many lumen it emits?
    Is it compatible with Alexa?
    Thank you.
