I’d be so much more interested if it’s not Amazon

There are probably SUP suitable bodies of water much closer than the Amazon

Why are these blow up toys so expensive? Genuine query. Thanks!

    • +2

Drop stitch to allow 15psi high pressure is expensive tech. Though expensive is relative.

      • Interesting! Thanks. I really like these because they are light to carry and move on the water.

If you've ever used an explorer 200 (or Kmart equivalent) you would feel the huge difference between that and something that is drop stitched (SUP or kayak). When inflated drop stitched inflatables feel like rigid vessels.

I've seen so many of these cheaper iSUPs at the beach this summer, all looking like floppy floating bananas in the water because people either didn't / couldn't inflate them fully or the board just lacks rigidity. There's nothing special about this board, all the important specs are missing such as weight or construction, its likely only 1 or 2 layers of PVC with no reinforcement, a quality board will usually be 3 layers with carbon reinforced rails. The alloy paddle is prone to bending too if your strong enough.

If you want something that will last I recommend checking out some quality brands such as iRocker, Blackfin & Honu (Australian), iRocker 11' All-Rounder can be found for ~$700-800 on sale. These cheaper sub $400 boards are still good value just be aware there's a lot more that goes into a quality board.

    • Thanks I think this is more than enough for weekend warriors but do you think there is a major durability issue??

IMHO $800 is far too much for a blow up toy.

      • +2

There's no major durability issues with cheaper iSUPs, Kings is the OzBargain favourite because its the cheapest option, most common issue seems to be a leaky valve which just needs to be tightened with included tool, I would avoid this one, it's no different to all the other $300 boards on Amazon.

Yes. You really know the product. Our board is 3 layers with reinforced rails. Made from the same factory as iSup. We will add a comparison video soon. There is a reason for it to be the best selling board in Germany.

Thank you Rep. Can you provide further details and/or independent verification of your board's construction, please?

    • Different materials. Much lighter and much better reinforced.

  • Can you confirm whether the pump is double action?

Your product photos don't match the description very well, e.g. The image shows the paddle is fibreglass, but description states aluminium?

    • bottom half of the paddle is fibreglass. the top half is aluminium.

      • Can you confirm whether the pump is double action?

  • I received my irocker package today :)

    • irocker's board always great. Very reliable.
