Netflix Gift Card (₺‎175 Turkey) A$22.78 (Was $35.46) @ G2A

902

I just purchased this bundle from G2A. Gift card keys came straight away.

The link in the deal goes to the page for a ₺‎100 gift card.

If you scroll down the page, there is a box showing an exclusive deal of ₺‎100 + ₺75‎ gift cards for $22.78.

I was able to successfully add this to my Turkish Netflix account. The gift cards came individually.

My bank card I used for Netflix has now expired and I'm unable to add a new one as I have to verify my Turkish mobile number. Looks like it'll be gift card for me from here.

Here's a how to on activating a Netflix account via VPN without a flight to Turkey

Note: these can not be used on any other account apart from Turkish Netflix accounts.

Edit: As pointed out by @snuke, this is not the cheapest way to get Turkish Netflix. Cheapest way is through a foreign friendly credit/bank card. If you do need to update your details, you'll be able to do it as pointed out by @doweyy

Just an FYI OP, you can bypass the mobile number requirement to update payment method within Netflix by live chatting and asking for the secure payment method update form to change your payment method. I had the same issue and bypassed it using this.

Nice timing. My turkish netflix just ran out of credit on the gc.

    • +2

Jumping on first post just to highlight that this a bad deal for anyone already using Turkish Netflix via CC, as you are paying almost double with this gift card arrangement.

Fine for those that can't get a CC working for whatever reason.

If OP amends deal to highlight in bold this is only for those that can't use a CC, I will remove my neg.

      • +2

I dont have a credit card. So theres that. Nor do i have a bank card that has no international transaction fees.

Even paying double of what turkey netflix charges which is AUD$5.70 a month.

So i end up paying like $11 to 12 dollars with all transaction fees. Which is still far cheaper than the highway robbery that netflix charges for premium in Aus. Which is AUD$ 22.

        • -1

Right, then this deal is for you, I clearly state that.
If you look below there are several with Cards already setup on the account asking as though this deal works for them.

  • How much per month for Ultra from Turkey?

  • Wonder if this will mess up credit card billing

    • Want to know too. Currently have credit card set up for billing.

      Does anyone know -
If I added the gift card, would it take payment from the gift card until it runs out, and revert to credit card?
And if the last bit of the gift card credit is insufficient, will they split the payment and take the balance from the credit card?

      • It shouldn't impact. Yes, the credit card will work as a backup. But I suppose if you have already paid up for a month which was in AUD. You might run into trouble loading Turkey GC. You might have to wait for account to run dry and then load.

    • +6

I assume it shouldn’t, but I’m a coward and won’t even attempt to try it.

Took me a while to move from Argentina to Turkey. I don’t want to mess up my setup.

      • +1

        How did you do it?

    • I think the best bet would be to contact the customer care and ask as this is a very generic query, and they don't have to know the country part.

    • +1

Nah, it doesn't. It will use up the ₺ gift card credit first, then when that runs out, it will start charging your credit card in ₺ again.

      • will this work too with paypal as the main payment?

        • Netflix Turkey doesn't support PayPal (because PayPal doesn't operate in Turkey).

    • +7

If you already have cc setup then i wouldn't get this.. 175 lira is currently ~$18 AUD.

      • Oof good point, just saw half price and went on auto pilot

    • +2

If you have a CC setup for Turkish Netflix, then you do NOT want this.

Ultra is TL 54.99 per month, I was billed Au $5.91 the other day, including the 17cents commission to Amex.

100 TL is less than 2 months of Ultra, lets make it round numbers and say it is 2 months of Ultra, $22.78 is almost double what it cost those on CC already, at $11.82 in this example.

      • Plenty of us don't have cards that work.

        • +1

I know, that is why the first words clearly say, "if you have….."

It's not that hard, if you don't have a CC setup for this, then clearly my comment does not apply to you.

          • +2

@snuke: i dont have that card, can I borrow your card number :D

          • +2

@snuke: All good, but i'm confused as to why you negged just because the deal doesn't suit you?

            • @vanreek: If you read my top post, you will see my Neg is not about me, but to highlight to everyone that has a card already setup, but hasn't taken the time to think if it is good for them or not, and just jump on the hype train of seeing deal that has a good amount of upvotes.

Just like you didn't read and process my comment properly before you replied, others will jump before looking and spend money they shouldn't.

All that said, even if OP had very clearly spelt it out in bold originally, many (most?) do not bother to read the op post text on deals and just react one way or another.
You see that constantly when people ask questions on a post where it is clearly outlined in the original post.

The deal is for TL 175 for $22.78 which equates to 3.18 months of Ultra. Using the CC figures you provided you pay $18.79 for 3.18 months. This costs $3.99 more, not double as you have indicated.

        • Yep, I 100% stuff up and conflated two different numbers, the price for the deal, and the amount of TL shown in the link - 100.

  • +3

Good for those who wants to start with the new subscription via VPN as explained here

And then can gradually change the payment method by contacting Netflix. pretty straight forward process.

Using your credit/debit card directly can be very challenging!

    • Cheers. I'll put that link in the body.

    • So if I don't have a Netflix account yet, I can just buy this, then sign up through VPN and apply the credit to the account? no need to to enter CC and mobile number?

      • Thats what i did before.

    • I am still going off Turkish Gift card but it says that my backup payment is Paypal… will it fall to PP when the credit expires?

      • Paypal is not suported in turkey. So your account will stop once gc runs out.

        • Thanks!

  • A tiny bit cheaper here. 100TL+75TL Netflix GC is AUD21.78. https://www.eneba.com/store/netflix-gift-cards?page=1&platforms[]=NETFLIX&&regions[]=turkey&types[]=giftcard

FYI, I am not sure what currency the transaction will be charged in. I saw on reddit you might be able to get it cheaper with promo codes.

  • Can't seem to pay with cc. Keeps getting error screen "Payment expired"

Just an FYI OP, you can bypass the mobile number requirement to update payment method within Netflix by live chatting and asking for the secure payment method update form to change your payment method. I had the same issue and bypassed it using this.

    • I think I'm stuck on Argentina Netflix because I let my Netflix lapse, then couldn't add a payment method when trying to sign up from Turkey, because of the mobile phone requirement.

Do you live chat with them when you are trying to make the payment and getting the mobile question? Or when do you do it?

      • I'm not 100% sure about your situation, but you might have some luck trying to contact them now and getting them to add a valid payment method to your account so you can signup again, that's the only way I could think about getting around it.

Mine was rather my payment method had expired which locked my account when trying to be billed, so I contacted them and they updated it and it billed to my new card and fixed the issue.

    • asking for the secure payment method update form

What is a secure payment method update form?

And does this allow you to enter most credit cards info without complaining like it does online?

      • Exactly.

    • +2

I'm trying this and Live chat is trying to probe what the error is, even though I've asked for the form 3 times!

Just spent 30 minutes trying to get the form. Then live chat repeatedly respond To keep the account secure, I am unable to make those changes at this time. I apologize for the inconvenience. and ghosted me. Great.

Update: If your Live Chat help is being difficult, find a new rep. I got a new rep who resolved this within 30 seconds. I entered "secure payment method update form to change your payment method" before I got assigned a rep

      • so how do you do this? what do they do to fix it?

      • It looks like this account was created outside of the country it's being used in. We can cancel this account and refund the most recent charge
they are now cancelling my account, DO NOT LIVE CHAT WITH THEM!!!!
now i lost money and account thanks.

        • sounds like a gamble. Thankfully I had no issue with mines. How did you lose money or are you being overly dramatic here?

          • @OZcheepsk8: i have no issues with the Live Chat method too. i suspect Halvar might have Live Chat without VPN to Turkey.

            • @vesla: agreed. I was just charged $5.88 including a $0.16 foreign fee (last week) following this method.

    • It looks like this account was created outside of the country it's being used in. We can cancel this account and refund the most recent charge
they are now cancelling my account, DO NOT LIVE CHAT WITH THEM!!!!

    • yep, same (or slightly cheaper) via here and its pretty much always that price

    • Is this site legit?

      • +3

I've used it before. It can take an hour or two. Pretty sure they go down to the shop and purchase, then take a photo of the code.

      • +1

I use it and it's fine

      • +1

Seems legit though people have reported that their gc took awhile to be received. Had not hear anything similar with g2a though.

      • +1

It literally says "100% SAFETY GUARANTEED" at the top, so duh

        • +1

          Omaigurds…you're right.

        • +1

          "100% SAFETY GUARANTEED"

          Legit!!! 👍

      • Just ordered 8. Got them in an hour

      • I am trying to redeem the code which they send as a photo. It says 'error occurred during gift redemption-try again later'

        • You connected to turkey vpn?

          • @xoom: yes

            • @ItsBatman: Some vpn dont work. Which one you using? I used windscribe before.

              • @xoom: oh, i am using vpnunlimited, will try other ones then

        • I have the same issue. I redeem the first code and everything went fine, then I bought a second gift code and then try to redeem it and it says "error occurred during gift redemption try again later" Might wait till later this evening and try again.

          • @Ronan2001: Contact support via chat they will add them. I too faced the same issue.

            • @Thedesishopper: I tried again and it worked. I bought 5 more. I now have enough credit for 14 months on the Ultra plan. Roughly $7 AUD a month. Not bad at all.

    • +1

      Weird that it's $0.3 cheaper to get 4x 75 than 3x 100?

    • What payment method did you guys use? That gpay method looks sooo dodgy

      • We pay with goats. Just kidding i used paypal.

    • could not upvote because your comment was more than 30 days ago
Hence, thanking you via my comment

  • how about the content? will we get content based on Australian IP or base don Turkish account?

    • Need a VPN to redeem. After that you can turn it off and enjoy Aus content

    • +1

You dont need to be connected to vpn once gift card is loaded on. Just run the app like normal. Not connected to vpn.

  • Any india netflix??

    • +2

Cant you just pay with this turkish gc then connect to india vpn to get india content?

  • -7

Things like this will harm regional pricing. Turkish people already are paying a higher % of their salary for netflix than Australians.

    • +5

The counter argument is that Turkey's residents are being subsidised by residents of countries such as Australia.

      • -2

Eh, the tax that goes to government is miniscule. But i hear you.

        • I think what he meant is that the content enjoyed by Turkey residents are being funded by Australians who pay the full amount.

    • +6

I think you're on the wrong site bro

      • -1

        I live in Australia

        • +4

          I'm talking to Ozbargain.

          Maybe you're looking for OzRRP?

    • This is a terrible argument for the simple fact that you'd make 10x the impact just by saving the $10 a month and donating it to a Turkish family in need

100 Lira could buy a week's worth of food for a family of 4 outside of Istanbul (might be dated information, this was pre-covid), when I doubt you'd get any thanks for helping to keep their Netflix bill a bit lower

It does cost Netflix much much more to provide Netflix to an Australian in Australia than it does to provide Netflix to a Turk in Tukey, so they might very well be just cutting even on this deal

But if they cared, then why wouldn't they just not let you do it? Forcing you to use a VPN at all times and only get Turkish recommendations would cut it down significantly, except they don't, do they?

  • I transferred 500 TL to my wise card with around 53 AUD and linked it to my Netflix account - Should be good for the next 1 year.
    Am I missing something here?

    • +1

Netflix won't let me do that

    • For premium might just make it to a little over 9 months. Unless prices goes up though. Which could happen.

    • You miss hyperinflation … the Turkish lira devalues pretty fast and might be worthless at some stage. So don’t prepay too long. Only time will tell how long you prepaid …

    • Does this went smooth ?

You used VPN initially to setup ?

Is there option to get yearly at once ?

      • +1

Pretty easy to connect to turkey vpn.
Load up gc while connected to vpn.

Load up enough gc worth for 1 year. Very doable. Would i do it? No. Prices could change.

  • Why's everyone going to Turkey just for Netflix?

    • +5

We just love the turkish content.

      Just kidding. Because its cheap.

      • Plus you still get the Australian content when you are watching from Australia.

    • They want to gobble up this deal!

  • bundle means one GC voucher or 2 different?

    • +1

Gift card keys came straight away.

Gonna hazard a guess it came separate.

      • And 2 GCs can be redeemed together right?

        • +1

you can load up multiple cards one after the other with netflix

        • +1

You can load as many as you like. I loaded 5 cards in mine before.

        • I just loaded up 6 and it seems to have gone fine
