Another deal from Muller Energy! 🙂
While I know that there are cheaper 100Ah (or thereabouts) slimline batteries in Australia, I don't believe that there are better value ones.

Like with the last few deals, I'll try and answer all your questions, so please feel free to ask them! Please don't think that your question may be stupid either, I can guarantee you that there will be other people that are glad you asked what the difference between "A" and "Ah" is, for example!

  • Hi Ruben - why are slimline generally across the industry more expensive per Ah than typical form factor?

    • Isn't that like asking why are laptops more expensive than desktop of same spec?

More material is actually required to make this sort of battery, as it has a higher surface area than a non slimline. They're also more difficult to design.
We don't actually have a 105Ah non slimline, but if you're asking more broadly, it's because thankfully there aren't any cheap and nasty slimline batteries yet (that I'm aware of at least).

Voltax is the cheapest, I think, and they're a grand. Our battery is definitely of a higher quality and their discharge rate is lower, but I wouldn't call them rubbish.

One other reason is that it's also a newer product and a bit more of a niche one, so the economies of scale aren't quite there.
All your tests and certificates will still cost you the same, regardless of how many items you're manufacturing, for example.

It's a bit of a combination, but hopefully my response gives you somewhat of an answer to your question.

  • Just purchased one of the 200ah and been using it for a couple of weeks. It’s been great!

For anyone unsure about the new/small business I thought it worth leaving my positive story.

There are also some fairly active Facebook groups and even a detailed and favourable review from another supplier in the area: https://www.facebook.com/103561108175556/posts/4091085742874…

Delivery was quick, build quality is good, and it just works unlike the cheaper lithiums that have been a bit hit and miss.

Ditto. Bought the 200Ah bundle from Ruben during the last promo. Fast delivery, excellent build quality and has everything you need except 240V which you can always pair with an inverter.

Just came back from a 7 day camping trip on KI. Mix of public and private campgrounds. Unpowered throughout, charged with DCDC (didn’t get around to doing Solar, maybe next trip). Kept my fridge running throughout (not a particular efficient 60L Brass Monkey), phones, tablets etc.

Next thing to do, maybe a 2000W inverter (for kettle, sandwich press/toaster) and get a panel on for solar charging while free camping.

@scragley and @syngen: Thanks very much to both of you, I really appreciate it!
