Spam. Also, are they still building any cars in Australia ?

    • +2

all they do is modify camaros colorados etc for the aust market, ie. rhd and adr etc.

and then charge $100k for them

btw. that $80 box is one of the most unintentionally funny gift boxes of crappy trinkets ive ever seen

the sort of stuff a company gives to its employeees who then promptly throws them out same day

      • +2

Take a look the Enforcer and the Dude ep where they visit Walkinshaw to see the work that goes into "converting" a Camaro, once you see it the 100K prices becomes somewhat understandable.

    • Unfortunately not. No one builds cars in Australia currently. All brands selling cars here are basically importers as its much cheaper to build elsewhere.

      • +1

to be fair its been proven that australians do not want to pay high costs australians to build cars in a relatively haphazard manner…. people already been stung by multiple generations of indifferent holdens, made here and abroad

        • To be fair the manufacturing processes in Australia at Holden, Toyota and Ford IMO were world class and resulted in plenty of superior vehicles for Australian conditions compared with many imported models. But a very limited market and expensive labour meant it was always going to be a battle to sustain it.

    • All imported and cheap, cheap n nasty. Questionable GM quality without the warranty of some of the others. Never class leading in any range, which has been the case for many years.

May I ask: which country do the Holden Legend products (bottles, cap, wallet, …) come from?

Would love to see the breakdown on the RRP of the box haha it looks like someone got their hands on a bunch of free stuff from a business convention and slapped the logo on

Pricing the 'membership pack' 5c under the free shipping threshold's a rather shitty move.

  • Holden has always been Australia's own car…

Holden never made a single car of their own before they were bought out by GM. They made coaches, and then made some British cars under licence.

…and is still at your service.

Discontinued making and selling all GM brands in Australia except for a few specialty RHD conversions.

So they're trying to clear out all the marketing crap from the office before they turn the lights off?

    • +3

You may want to have a bit of a Google into the history of Holden. You have very much understated Holden's involvement in the motor vehicle industry.

      • Holden Motor Body Builders was created in 1919 and made car bodies to fit onto chassis from other manufacturers. In 1931 GM bought this company and merged it with General Motors Australia to form General Motors - Holden.

Holden might have had a big impact on the Australian motor industry, but they were a GM company by the time they built their first full car.

        • Holden was Holden, whether owned by General Motors or not, so saying that Holden has always been Australia's own car is fair.

It honestly took me a while to figure out what this actually is, at first I thought it was a ("Holden Legends") fan club selling their own merch to make some club funds but then I couldn't seem to find what the membership is for (and still can't). Then I noticed it is "brought to you by GM Specialty Vehicles" which as far as I can tell is the actual GM site in Aus that sells Corvettes and Silverados and it's pretty much the merch shop for them, just looks like a crappy aftermarket 3rd party merch store.
What I'm still not sure of though is, what is the actual membership for?

    • +1

For you: access exclusive merchandise, rewards & content.
For them: your detail for marketing.

    Good way to gouge shipping.

  • There's lots of highly collectible Holden and HSV branded products around… But this ain't one of them!!!

This new GMSV merch shop has some of the crappiest items I have ever seen. There are several HSV branded products I emailed them about at launch that contain faults… to which they are completely uninterested!

  • lol, the hat comes pre colour faded

  • RRP $120…..lol dreamin'

  • This is not a deal
