Any reason to get that 27kg set vs https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/373853300599 ?

    • Deal in the comments. Its the same seller, they have like 3 different listings of the same product at different prices…

      • +1

Yeah, but it's the same thing just cheaper (from the same seller). Which makes the deal in the post… not really a deal.

    • Hrmm, look the same, $10 cheaper. Amazon reviews don't seem to rate their quality though.

      • +5

Horrible quality, I bought an Everfit exercise bike that lasted four uses. Though there's probably a few less moving parts in a dumbbell set, might last a bit longer.

      • +3

I honestly can't imagine what could go wrong with a dumbbell lol….maybe the metal will snap haha

        • +5

Any part that is plastic is going to wear out or crack very easily. If the plastic collar wears out and you just happen to have that extra weight on, the weights are either going to end up dropping on your face, foot or floor. Any of those are going to cost you a lot more than the amount you spend on all an all metal set.

          • +3

@star-ggg: Ahh, so the collar is plastic…it looked like metal from their image…. true, didn't think of that

    • Looks like your right. I just bought one too. Oh well. I'll update.

    • This is a better deal

Hate those plastic spin locks with a passion.
    Also should be clear it’s 2 x 13.5.

    • +3

yeah those spin locks literally ruin drop sets and are just a pain in general

      • +1

Imagine dropping these from even knee height lol case would crack 10 ways from Sunday

    • +7

Thanks stopped me from buying this. I would not buy any weights with any plastic components.

  • These weight plates don't look like standard 1" sizes. It's marked as 31mm on another listing.

  • +1

Are the Everfit bars metal or plastic?

  • +6

I've bought a 20kg set during the height of lockdown that looks exactly the same. These are concrete weights with plastic casing so they are bulky af. The plastic of my set is cracked so it's leaking sand. Be warned.

[Edit] Bought from a different seller. But I suspect these come out of the same factory.

    • +1

My set had up to 250g variances between some plates lol . Got mine for

    • There's sand inside the plastic of the weights or the collar?

      • Inside the weights.

  • +4

I know weights are stupid expensive, but I would spend more to avoid spin collars as they are a right pain in the arse, especially if you are doing drop sets, etc

Additionally, a 13 kg dumbbell is rather light and I think you will out grow them pretty quick.

  • +1

27 kilos for both each arm lifts 13.5

  • +3

These are just concrete moulds wrapped in plastic hence the very low price ??

  • OOS

  • That was quick, marked as out of stock. The cheaper one must have been a mistake.
Here is the old link if anyone wants it. It's $9.36 dearer though.

  • It says Afterpay takes $10 off if you pay with it

Plenty of decent preloved dumbbells available on Gumtree. Do yourself and the environment a favour and reuse instead on this cheap crap :(

    • +7

Some good finds to be had but also a lot of
I knOw wHat I HaVe type operators asking $10/kg for Kmart plates.

    • +1

I picked up a set of 27.5kg(each) hex dumbbells and a EZ curl bar plus some weight plates for free a few months back.
      Was super happy with that.
Can easily get a weight plates for less then a $1 kilo if your patient.

    What a dumb deal.

  • keep in mind that they use Aramex for their delivery service, which can take a long time. I am in Perth. It's been 3 weeks and my order is still in Melbourne. Literally didn't move out of town…

    • That almost needs to be a required warning in the post now, haha. Took them like 9 weeks to get me a phone case from within Australia recently.

      • 9 weeks is insane! Did they deliver via bicycle…

  • Out of stock! 😂

  • I ordered a set eventho it said here it was out of stock.

    • Yeah, it's back in stock.

  • +1

No way I buy this type of weight again.

    • Why?

      • +4

  • I wonder how Auspost charges for postage for items like this.

Hell it’s cheaper than me sending a 2kg parcel to QLD from MEL.

  • is there anything lighter, this is too heavy. i'm not trying to win gold at the olympics.

    • These are variable weight. Just take off the bigger plates.

  • They're back in stock. More than 10 available

  • I received the box today. The plates were used as they had scratch marks and dents. I received 8 plates (2.5kg) total of 20kg with no bars. Just 8 used plates with the wrong weights too :D

The quality of the plates seemed bad even considering the price. I asked for a return.

    • Same here 8x 2.5kg. No bars etc

      • +1

Turned out they ship two boxes. You will receive the second box containing the bars and four 1.25kg plates.

Are your plates used as well?

        • +1

Ah that's good. No they look new.

        • You still sending back?

          • +1

@Jono258: No because they offered me partial refund if I keep them
