  • How does the S2722QC compare to the (older) UltraSharp U2720Q? I'm looking for a monitor primarily for photo/video editing.

    • Short version: worse calibration and warranty.

P2721Q could be an option if U2720Q is out of stock or out of budget - I spent some time googling variations on S2722QC vs P2721Q vs U2720Q before deciding that the sale price of S2722QC made it an acceptable compromise for my needs. If you're looking at photo/video editing, I would suggest going for a U series.

  • -1

Is the S3422DWG worth it for non/light gaming needs? Set up a new desk in my room and the old monitor needs an upgrade. Will mostly be used for work/browsing/watching videos.

    • Maybe go for the cheaper S3422DW which is usually about $50 cheaper if you are not into gaming much.

      • Not much of difference except for refresh rate (100 vs 144), right?

  • My Xiaomi 34 which was bought in 2020 blacks out for a few seconds and then comes back. I use it with my Mac have changed it to a good quality belkin hdmi cable hoping that it will help but it hasn’t… It is increasingly uncomfortable and irritating and is more often than before. On the other side wifey uses 2x27 Dell with her XPS and has no problems even with cheap display port cables! Have updated to the latest OS and have done all basic troubleshooting but to no avail!
I am still not sure of the reason!!
I would suggest Dell over the xiaomi !!!

    • Still under warranty? You can make a claim.

  • +5

I didn't read any of the comments above but I've just been informed that prices will increase by quite a bit in the next promo.

If you are planning to get something from Dell ebay, I would do so during this promo.

    • Do you know if the price will be 20% off today's price (which is already discounted from the RRP) or will it go up and be 20% off the RRP ($519)?

      • The price will the be price that is on the post that is displayed on this deal after using the coupon code.

  • How about the S2721DS? I just missed the previous deal :(

  • With the S2722QC having USB C connection does that mean I can plug it directly to my PC via USB C and the monitor is powered via the PC or do I still need to power cable and HDMI?

    • +3

I don't have the monitor but this is how I think the connection works:
      Power cable to monitor
      USB-C between monitor and laptop.

So the laptop is being powered by the monitor.

      • That's correct. The monitor needs 240VAC (via IEC cable) but can charge a connected device.

You cannot power the monitor via a PC - even if the monitor's total power requirements are low, it's unlikely that they would be met via a computer's USB port. If that's outputting 5V @ 3A = 15W, and the S2722QC requires 27W…

There are portable monitors that can be powered by USB-C, but they tend to be pretty small due to the laws of physics.

        • Can a laptop have a USB PD output port to power some devices, say up to the current 100W limit?

          • @lomie: I don't think any laptops would output 20A @ 5v.

            • @pressdarling: USB PD can do 20V 5A. I'm just wondering if there is a laptop that can output that?

I'm guessing it would add weight and volume to have that capability.

              • @lomie: I strongly doubt that any laptop manufacturers have catered for this niche - none that I could find, anyhow. The USB PD standard is very recent.

  • Anyone with S3422DWG care to measure the actual width and height? Just need to confirm if it will fit my desk. TIA

    • Dimensions on the Dell website, 81cm across, I think 43 high from memory

  • +1

    PLDESW no applicable?

    • worked for me, S4322DWG ordered

      • +2

i tried for S2722QC and code doesnt seem to work

        • +1

I was getting the same error. I logged out of ebay and checked out as a guest - that worked! Not sure why it had an issue with me signed in. (pasting this to anyone having the same issue)

  • +1

This code can't be applied to your order. (S2722QC)

    HALP! ._.

    • Same here. Bought ebay gift card for this…

    • +2

I was getting the same error. I logged out of ebay and checked out as a guest - that worked! Not sure why it had an issue with me signed in. (pasting this to anyone having the same issue)

      • +1

Cheers @chijos! This method worked for me (checked out as guest).

        Thanks too @dealbot

      • Yeah, I have to do the same. wondering whether it is a bug

        • @CodeWorks: It looks like it could be because I created my ebay account before I moved to Australia, and you need one created in AU for this coupon code. Maybe that is the case for both @Gloom and yourself too.

  • +1

ordered the S3422DWG, no issues, thanks

  • +1

Hey Dealbot, just wanted to say thanks! Have used the QS from your last deal and grabbed the S2722QC. Great monitors and this is an awesome deal!

  • +2

    Ordered: S2722QC - Dell 27" 4K UHD USB-C Monitor

    461.25
    -92.25

    Total $369.00

    Thanks @Dealbot !

    • The code doesnt work for me for S2722QC. Strange

    • did you just enter the code PLDESW into the giftcards/vouchers/coupons section?

      • Thats what I did. Did I do wrong?

        • +3

I was getting the same error. I logged out of ebay and checked out as a guest - that worked! Not sure why it had an issue with me signed in.

        • +4

i just realised the issue, my account was an overseas ebay account
i logged into another one, specifically created in aus and it worked

          hope that makes sense

sounds like purchasing as guest works too - thanks!

          • +2

@boriskk: Thanks @boriskk, that does make sense. I'm pretty sure I created my ebay account is well before I moved to Australia. I might look into getting it updated or just create a new one.

          • @boriskk: Thanks! I used the other account created here in Aus and it works! This is annoying

            • +1

@yanlianglee: Glad it's working now. yep - gotta make sure its an AU account

  • cheers mate

  • +1

Thanks, bought two S2722QC to replace a failing (way too soon) LG27UD68.

  • +1

    Thanks @Dealbot, purchased two S2722QC!

    • +1 👍🏻

    • Are you doing a dual monitor setup? If so what graphics card do you have?

      • No this is just replacing two QHD ultrawides for me and the wife to WFH.

      • Just have a dell i7 xps laptop - no discrete gfx there

  • Thanks dealbot.
Ordered one S3422DWG but Paypal seems to be getting swamped at the moment, payment still pending.

  • Thank you @dealbot - picked-up a S2722DC for $319 using eBay gift cards :)

  • +1

Does the DELL S3422DWG support "split screen" on a mac?
I cannot find a mac compatible driver download on the Dell page. Please help.

  • I’m stuck between S2721DGF or S2722QC

Bought DGF then cancelled and went for S2722 for $100 less. They seem very similar from what I saw. Seems the 2721DHF has hdr400 and much higher refresh rate. Is that a fair assessment? I want it mostly for work but some gaming too on my Ps5. I got the S2722QC ordered…. But if anyone has any input on this monitor, happy to hear it. Cheers

  • Thanks dealbot! Got the S2722QC after getting a S2721QS last year. Great range of all-round monitors

  • Can anyone with two thunderbolt ports on their laptop advise if they've ever tried two USB C monitors like the s2722qc? How does it work with both monitors potentially delivering power to each thunderbolt port? Is it workable or is the laptop smart enough to draw power charge from only one of the thunderbolts even though both are connected to two identical monitors (if I buy two of the QC today?)

    • +1

Works with macbook pro, it only draws power from one.

      • Ok thanks. Be keen to hear if windows devices and specifically how spectre are smart enough to draw power off only one of the two thunderbolt ports ….

  • Can anyone advise if the coupon discount can be used more than once? Can I buy one QC now and push the button on a second later today or is it only best to do it all in one purchase?

  • Hi Dealbot, any chance of convincing Dell to put more of this online?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/334292295412

Sold out before I could pounce

  • Thanks OP!

  • S2722QC - 1070 sold till 5:30 PM in just 7.5 hours! WoW.
Of all the DELL monitors listed, no other monitor is even close to this sale figure.
I hope, my delivery is not delayed by this huge order volume.

    • You saw the estimated delivery right? Tue. 22 Feb. and Tue. 1 Mar.

      • Yes. But i was hoping i would get it earlier, as had happened in the past with some ozBargainers. Let's see

    • I bought one at lunch then deliberated on a better 2nd monitor…. Before pushing the button to get a second s2722QC just a few minutes ago… The number of orders does have me worried if they'll honour it?

Or are Dell's stock numbers pretty regulated.e.g
Of it isn showing on the eBay to buy then it hasn't sold out?

      • I think, for company like Dell, it should not be an issue. As it is still in stock, lets wait for quick deliveries. Maybe just few days of delays…

        • well i think the arrival window is feb 22-march 2nd so it's quite a bit. doubt it'll get processed until later this week let alone shipped out, and for those of us in WA the trip from over east probably means a fair few delays even more.

    • "Order shipped" Got my shipping notification today from Dell. So, looking for early delivery now.

      • When did you order?

        • Ordered on 21st.
          ETA is shown as 25th

          • @Sub: Damn. Just ordered yesterday and ETD is 22/2-1/3.

            • +2

@hawkeye93: I ordered when the deal opened Friday, initial delivery estimate was 1 March.
It's now on its way and should hopefully arrive Monday.

            • @hawkeye93: I also had same ETD, but was delivered today. You also can expect early delivery.

            • @hawkeye93: same ETD for me too, but yesterday, got SMS that they'd deliver on 27/1

      • +1

Received my monitor at noon today!! Quite quick when compared to delivery estimates!

      • I ordered 10:04am 21st too and not shipped TAT

      • Ordered on the 21/01 and just received mine this afternoon.

  • Just ordered S3422DW, anyone who has this monitor care to share your thought on it?
saw few posts that people are disappointed with the display, that the image quality is good but not great for the price.
I'm going to use it primarily for work won't be gaming, Is 100 Hz going to make a huge difference than 144hz?

    • S3422DW, S3422DWG and the Xiaomi Curved 34" one. I don't know which one to choose

      • From my personal observation so far, S3422DW has slower 100Hz refresh, but cheaper and has built-in speakers, better choice for office and light/non-gaming use, compared to S3422DWG. Xiaomi has been out the longest, has similar screen spec as S3422DWG but cheaper, though it 's black smearing is a bit more than those Dells, has fewer USB ports and the Xiaomi's product support is not as good as Dell's in Australia.

      • aesthetic wise S3422DW model look better than S3422DWG, besides that S3422DW discounted more than S3422DWG.
i don't game therefore 100hz probably will do for me.

  • Don't see these codes on either CR or SB, safe to assume cashback will not work?

    • +1

      doesn't hurt to try.

    • Try social good for a potential 50% cashback
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/674068

      • Is it OK to use eBay discount code and pay by GC?

        • It’s a bit grey… Nobody really knows till it get approved and they cash out
I haven’t been in it long enough to know yet
          Potentially it is

  • I got the Xiaomi Mi 34" and I like it. Worth switching over to the S3422DWG for the faster ms? I game fwiw.

    • +1

People mention that black smearing is bad. What do you think?

      • On the Xiaomi or the Dell? On the Xiaomi, it's not even remotely noticeable to me.

      • I should note, I recently found a dead pixel on my Xiaomi though after just 6 months of use.

        • +1

3-year warranty from Dell vs 2 from Xiaomi. I'm thinking about that as well.

          • @hawkeye93: Yeah good call. I've contacted Gearbite so hopefully something can be done.

    • +1

Judging from just the online reviews, I don't think it's worth switching from the Xiaomi to this S3422DWG. The difference is not huge.
However if switching over to the bigger and much more expensive Alienware AW3821DW, then there is a big difference.

      • Aha yeah fair enough! Maybe one day I'll drop a couple grand on a monitor. Cheers

        • +1

          Currently on sale for $1499.

  • Is the S2722QC good for PS4 gaming?

Mainly looking to get it for productivity, where I will connect to a MBP 15". But unsure about scaling of resolution with the occasional PS4 use?

  • +2

Text from dell advising of shipment scheduled for Thursday - 27” QC model.

    • +1

I got a txt from dell too, mine is scheduled for delivery tomorrow - QC model (I am in MEL)

      • I’m not really ready for it ha! Need to clean up my desk now. Was banking 9on a good 5 week wait.

    • Also dispatch notification (S3422DWG), estimated arrival Monday (Hobart).

    • How did you get a text, did you leave your number with the delivery address on ebay?
