[Pre Order] Clungene Rapid Antigen Nasal Swab Test Kit 4 x 5 Packs (20 Total) $264 + Delivery @ Restock

67

Restock are selling stock of the Clungene tests relatively cheaply, and claim to have stock coming in next week (24/1/2021).

As this is a store targeted at businesses, the order form asks for an ABN, but it's unclear if that's required or if putting "N/A" will suffice.

Minimum order of 4 packs (so 20 tests). Shipping is free to VIC & eastern mainland Metro Areas.

Clungene is rated as "very high sensitivity" by the TGA, although I note that they have not received any evidence about which variants it detects well.

How is $13.20 a test quite cheap?

    • -3

I modified the post to say "relatively" cheap. Based on the recent ACCC media release that looks at average prices and expected wholesale prices, it sounds like a reasonable price, and not an instance of gouging.

  • This is a $240 buy…….

Good price. They sell this for $1.8 AUD per test in south east asia. This is a good mark up price. Good for the seller.

    • With the amount and scale, government has to centralise the purchase and control pricing. Scone and Dominic put us last, and I will ensure Liberal last on the ballot.

they also sell beer for $1 in some asian countries at bars …..$8 in australia at bars or restaurants feel more ripped with what beet costs ….. so it’s 400% markup from a slab ($2 a bottle) to $8 at the bar ….. but that isn’t price gouging ? ……

what percentage markup is gouging vs not gouging 10%, 50%, 400% ?

      • Well, the product is made in China. $1.8 AUD is price in indonesia, work out the maths buddy.

  • Cheap in south east asia bcoz they manufacture it. How can you require a same price with original manufacturing country?

  • Price gouging

I don’t have much confidence in RATs - two people I know have COVID and they had 5 RATS between them over number of days whilst having strong symptoms and none of them came up positive. PCR +. Took me 15 mins to get a PCR yesterday and got results overnight. I’ll stick to that for now vs getting gouged on RATs.

    • yep since the “i need a negative test to travel interstate for school holidays” lines have shrunk, PCR testing lines have disappeared from my local testing station ….

i asked my work if they want RATS test and if so will they supply and response was “we will get back to you” …. they are considering that we need to get boosters and register but not RAT …. as per union push … if it’s for safe work environment it should be supplied by employer under workcare ….

    • That’s funny. I tried two different brand RATs, when I have strong symptoms, and both came up Positive. Maybe your friends did it the wrong way.

      • Yeah entirely possible too.

  • This is not a deal in my view…is not even in stock.

  • No deal.

  • insane price

  • Find it very hard to see this as a good deal and on top of that, there is a minimum order that we need to do.

  • Anything that's over $11 per test (excl shipping) is price gouging. There are RATests that can be purchased below this price. E.g. Costco

    • $10 fair.. $11 would be acceptable. Prefer a couple of those thanb buying 20 expensive ones

  • Gotta love some clunge
