What Is a Good Keyboard + Mouse That Can Easily Switch between Windows and Mac?

So I mainly deal with mac, and have all mac accessories. But I was thinking about getting a windows pc, but then it occurred to me I'd need two sets of everything in terms of mouse + keyboard, so hoping to avoid that.

Can anyone recommend any products which would allow me to easily switch between the two?

I have a USB switch that has my keyboard, mice and speakers connected. The switch is located under my desk which I click every time I switch machines.

    This one in particular https://www.ugreen.com/products/2-in-4-out-usb-3-0-sharing-s…

    • Wouldn't it just make sense to have wireless peripherals?

Mice, keyboard, speakers… to switch machines I would need to press 3 different buttons. Trust me, that gets tiresome.

The only device that needs to be wireless is the mouse, so I plug the dongle into the switch.

    • What about monitor?

    • Both Mac and Windows PC use the same USB interface
So you can use any USB mouse or USB keyboard with either

hence just unplug and plug in as required

      No big deal

Keychron is what I use, there is a switch in the back for Mac or pc. It’s awesome because the Mac f row is labeled with Mac shortcuts (brightness, play, pause, volume, launchpad, etc… also your modifiers at the bottom are Mac and in the right spots. I know the struggle, lol. I use PC for work, and Mac at home. I have a Q1 with durock v2 stabs, gat black ink switches, and gmk bow keycaps.

    • What about for mouse?

      • i just switched to a keychron from a razer taipan. razer was double clicking and not registering clicks.

      This.

    • 100% this

    • 1000% this.

    • Agreed this. The MX Keys even has Mac/Windows key caps! Pairs between my Windows and Mac devices perfectly.

    • OP didn't specify a budget.

I use the Logitech G915 keyboard and G502 Wireless mouse. Expensive but I just wanted less cables on my desk. The G915 can switch between Bluetooth and Lightspeed (USB Dongle) connections through a press of the button.

Wife uses the Logitech POP Keys keyboard. Surprisingly sturdy little thing and can connect to up to 3 devices at once with dedicated keys. The POP mouse looks kinda average though.

    • Me too

  • Logitech MX keys series are amazing, easy to switch between Windows and Macs. Best $170 i spent for my WFH setup.

  • Personally I use Kanex, got it from Macfixit.
It has 4 switches and I switch it easily between Mac / iPhone / Windows Work laptop (plus one spare for anything else).

Satechi is another very similar keyboard with 3 switches that you can find from JB Hi-Fi (the official website says it's only compatible with Mac and iOS) but JB and Officeworks says its compatible with Windows too … so go figure.

  • Any keychron wireless keyboard and logitech Mx master mouse of your choosing

  • I would recommend before buying a separate PC to first install some virtual software so you can then setup Windows as a guest and see if this will work for you as it will save have two of everything.
I use virtualbox on Windows and have 11.0.1 as a guest. You would need to use goolge to find what the best virtual app is for OSX that support Windows as a guest.

You legitimately download Windows ISO from MS servers using the process documented in Method 2 on the following page, which will allow you to test it before you buy a license

I would try Windows 10 as Windows 11 may not work in w virtual environment due to it's hardware requirements.

    • Well, my intention is to use it for gaming, so a VM wouldn't work for my use case.

  • Similar to others here, I used the Logitech MX 3 mouse (I think there's a keyboard you can get also) and I switch between 3 computers by just hitting the button on the bottom (gives 3 options), it connects via bluetooth.

  • I use this keyboard and mouse combo from Logitech

    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/logitech-w…

Can change between three devices, has bluetooth and a usb dongle. I use it between my Macbook, Windows PC and work Windows laptop, works flawlessly.

  • I use a Logitech K850 keyboard and mouse and have found it to be a great combination. One button on the keyboard and mouse is all that you need to press to change between devices.

  • I use https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07M8YZDVZ/ref=ppx_yo_d… KVM Switch with https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0855L9MXY/ref=ppx_yo_d… on a Windows and Mac with a single monitor, wireless keyboard/mouse, wired mic/speaker combo.

Seamless setup. CTRL+1 for Windows and CTRL+2 for Mac. No pressing buttons

I use a Logitech K780 - $69 Amazon and JB and a switchable Logitech mouse (not at home can’t recall model), but from Officeworks - works well. I switch between Mac, PC and iPad with simple 1-2-3 buttons. Keycaps show both functions. IPad can sit in a groove at back of keyboard.

  • Logitech MX Keys is great and can switch between Mac and Windows (has keyboard layout for both), and can be paired with up to 3 devices. Best purchase I made when WFH! MX Mouse is also compatible with both and can switch between 3 devices.

  • Why not Bootcamp into Windows for gaming?

    • I'm on M1 Mac, I don't think that's an option.

  • I have a Logi K375 modified mechanical keyboard. (K375 circuit board + mechanical switch, plate and body) with MX3 mouse using a single unity dongle.
constantly between two computer, one on unity, the other one on BT
    switching is smooth.no issue.

    • Care to share how you did that, please? Sounds like a nice project!
