Pretty cool application if you want a cheap paid version instead of using MX Video Player, MoboPlayer

Got MXplayer as recommended by the comments, love it

    • shoot, didn't realise there was already a posted one. Just came back from my holiday =_=. Cheers mate, I'll try this MXplayer

  • It's more 50% off - it was $5 for all of 5 days before it's price dropped.

That said, it doesn't have great reviews. Maybe go with hippocrat & the MXPlayer.

  • Diceplayer is the best - unfortunatly only ad supported

  • I use Mobo Player, which is free and pretty damn good.

  • I find Mobo the best looking, but it's buggy with MKV support. Diceplayer's picture quality is not that good. Its colors look washed out compared to Mobo and it's not as sharp.

I found MX Player looking almost as good as Mobo, but is way better than Dice. It's also the most complete of all the players I've tried.

Have not tried Vplayer. Might try it now.

  • Anyone know of any that has native Samba support so I can browse my network's shared files directly?

  • +1

I don't see why you have to pay while you can get MXPlayer for free and it is the best player which can play multiple format and support HW or SW decoding.

In the description of VPlayer it said

"VPlayer 1.x is next generation of VPlayer, which brings experimental HW accelerated decoding…"

MXPlayer has support both and even support HW decode for sound while use SW decode for video. I know a lot of player in Play store doesn't support this method, you either have to use either HW or SW decode for both video and sound.

Also how funny they use an screenshot of them playing a pirated movie "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" in their advertisement.

  • It's a pretty good app, but the free alternatives are fine too.
