Price matching Woolworths, for those without prime.

  • Is this with head band or ear loops?

    • +1

Ear loops. I use the plastic clip it comes with, otherwise they are too loose.

    • from the pics, ear loops

    • I got confused, it looks like ear loops in the picture, but when you read the instructions at the back, it says to wear it over the head using the clip, like a head band.

      • +1

the clip can come off. just a plastic S shaped clip - more comfy if you wear for long period of time. personally I find the mask a bit small.

recently tried the Australian made mask and found more comfy at $1 each.

        • +1

          Which Australian made brand?

          • @Savas: Softmed has one at chemist warehouse. I rate them, like eatwell365

      • +1

That makes sense you need the clip.. because the ear loops are very loose

  • +2

these are OOS and on back-order.

  • +1

If you can find stock @ OW, try pricing beating

    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/3m-p2-resp…

  • +1

3pack works out cheaper than the 5 pack.

    • The price of the 5 pack went up since yesterday, when it was $16.88. Last week it was $15.95.

  • Better than Bunnings ones?

    • +4

3M have a very good reputation worldwide so I'd trust them more than the Bunnings ones.

    • I have the Bunnings 3M 'Trade Mate' P2 masks, they fit good but are over the had straps too which is a bit annoying for on/off/on/off i.e getting in and out of the car.
But if leaving on most of the day probably the most comfortable

  • Are these N95 masks?

    • +5

Yes, P2 is effectively equivalent to N95.

    • +5

From what I understand N95 is American Standard and P2 is more or less the Australian Standard equivalent.

  • +1

    Oos

  • How many "wears" would someone typically get out of one of these?

    • +3

It really depends on the person and their willingness to expose themselves to higher potential risk.

Can you wear them 5-10 times or more - yes they will hold up fine.

Should you wear them 5-10 times or more - I doubt anybody in the medical expertise field would strongly advise it, if avoidable.

    • -5

God damn, it's for people like you that dildos need warnings to not stick up your arse. Wait…

  • Im just looking for ones that dont fog up my glasses

    • +3

If you wear these correctly, than no fog in your glasses. The tighter the seal of the mask of P2 Masks which is necessary for them to be 95% effective does the trick.

    • These ones are the best when they’re back in stock in hopefully a few days: https://www.aussiepharmadirect.com.au/products/amd-p2-respir…
Really good seal so don’t fog up my glasses, also super comfortable and breathable, plus made in Australia for those who cares.

      • I have these and my glasses fog up - they don't have foam so it really depends on your face and nose shape. But they are very light and easy to wear.

  • +5

I recently bought these KF94's from eBay, the delivery was fairly fast at a few days and the quality/comfort was really good.
KF94 is the Korean governments certified standard, with these things you never know if they are officially certified or counterfeit, but given the quality of the ones I received they are good. Looks like only the 10-pack is left at A$15.90.

    • +4

These seem to be made in China, a bit strange if they are supposed to be Korean, no?

  • +1

Out of stock just as I'm chasing up my OTP from login, ffs.

    • 😥

  • How are these in terms of comfort and breathability compared to the common cheapo disposable ones?

    • by the time you get a answer it all gone :)

      • Probably wasn't gonna buy anyway, was more just out of interest ;)

      • Looks like it got answers before they sold out :p

    • harder to breathe because of the tighter fit. digs into your face if you're wearing it for an extended period.

      but that's just my experience.

      • Thanks good to know, that's kind of what I was thinking

  • -5

Bought the last 20 in a Woolies in north Sydney:) feels damn good

  • 25 pack at $75 (no discount) is best per unit price.

    Back order only too though.

  • Got a 25 pack of these delivered from winc for $77

  • -1

Those KF94 masks are counterfeit. Caption on the packaging makes absolutely no sense… No I am not saying me love you long time, it's more like love love love love you threee tymes.

  • I just bought 100 AMD p2 masks for $203 delivered. So a little over $2 each. They seem to be the same specification as the 3M.

The AMD are the ones our Olympian’s used and are local made. This deal seems a lot more expensive?

    • +2

      Where?

    • +2

This deal seems a lot more expensive?

It's the reputation that you pay for. 3M is a trusted brand by professionals around the world and is an industry standard in multiple industries. In fact if you google image search N95 mask, most of the masks that appear are made by 3M. So you can be fairly confident that the mask will actually meet the standards they claim.

That said, the AMD ones (and others) could absolutely be just as good, you just have to trust the manufacturer.

I'm not sure how much sponsorship matters. Did the AOC pick AMD because AMD put up the most money? Or are their products superior?

      • I doubt there is a lot of money in mask sponsorship. It is more likely the Aus Olympic team got guaranteed genuine p2 masks and a good made 'made in Australia" story.
AMD get a good brand name boost.

So a win/win for both sides.

  • +3

Just to let some know these can be worn about 30 times. Here is some info to prolong the use of these masks.

Cheaper here and in stock https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/363481985121?

    • +1

      lolwut?

they aren't even the same thing

  • -3

FYI these masks are all essentially useless against something like COVID if you haven’t been properly fit-tested.

  • Our fearsome leaders have a "let it rip" approach. Don't think the masks will help you much

  • Are these fluid resistant?

  • +1

Bunnings have KN95 masks 40 cents each https://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-kn95-dust-respirator_…

Just a note the aisles listed for Scoresby are wrong they are actually on a pallet in front of the service desk, Limit 20 per person

    • Is it a good fit when you tried it on?

      • each person is different, my wife don't like it as the ear loop is too tight. I like it as it doesn't fog my glasses ( or less foggy) compare to my other KN95. 40cents each try one first i guess

    • I've been looking for these but cant find stock

  • -8

This is $3.17 per mask. Why is this a deal? The 3pk was 5.90 less than a month ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/673645

    • +2

Normally you'd be right, but it isn't relevant now with the existing stock shortages. It's a good deal as it's cheaper than the normal selling price, and is/was actually in stock.

      • -2

So whats the criteria for posting here then? Is it a bargain or just popular goods at regular prices

        • $9.50 is not a regular price, it's a discounted price. It's normally $12.

          • -4

@eug: They could have set the RRP at $15 and then discounted it to $12. Would it still be a bargain then?

It's still $3.17 per earloop P2 (not a N95 - they do not allow earloops generally because of poorer fit)

The model in a 3pk sells in Singapore for SGD $5 https://www.watsons.com.sg/kn95-easy-to-wear-non-valve-9513-…

            • +1

              @brendan0:

They could have set the RRP at $15 and then discounted it to $12. Would it still be a bargain then?

No. It is based on the regular selling price. The 3-pack is normally sold for $12, so this is a 21% discount over the regular selling price.

It's still $3.17 per earloop P2 (not a N95 - they do not allow earloops generally because of poorer fit)

These come with a clip on the loops. You're meant to clip them together at the back. They do not rest on your ears, although you could use it that way if you wanted.

The performance of the filtration media itself is effectively identical to N95 media.

The model in a 3pk sells in Singapore for SGD $5 https://www.watsons.com.sg/kn95-easy-to-wear-non-valve-9513-…

Yes, and a plate of chicken rice sells for $3. Some things are just cheaper in other countries. Wages differ as well.

              • -3

@eug: So what? The criteria for bargains can't solely be based on discount to RRP as it the RRP itself is arbitarily set. If the 3pk had a RRP of $30 and was discounted by 33% to $20 it still wouldn't be a bargain.

The judge is the actual price - $3.17 for an earloop P2. You could go to Bunnings or Mitre 10 and find cheaper P2s with headbands which generate a better fit.

                • +1

@brendan0: Going by your logic, should all Samsung phone deals be negged because you can buy a Realme phone for less?

Are you confident that a Bunnings Craftright mask is identical or superior to a 3M mask?

                  • -1

                    @eug:

                    1. Going by your logic, should the sole criteria be it is selling for less than the arbitarily determined RRP? If so just about anything can qualify as a "bargain" if you set the RRP high enough.

                    2. There are other 3M P2/N95 masks at Bunnings that cost less per unit. Again why is this a bargain? Is less than RRP the sole reason if so it is BS.

                    • +1

                      @brendan0:

I'm not sure why you keep bringing up RRP. I've always said "normal selling price". That is how bargains are determined. It doesn't matter if it's cheaper in an Asian country, what matters is the normal selling price here. Sometimes RRP is the normal selling price, sometimes it's cheaper.

There are other 3M P2/N95 masks at Bunnings that cost less per unit. Again why is this a bargain? Is less than RRP the sole reason if so it is BS.

I assume you're referring to this which is out of stock everywhere. That is the 8205 model which is the builders equivalent of the popular 8210 model. They're far less comfortable to wear as this 9123 model and is made in lower volumes than the 8200 series. The straps are also stapled on as opposed to welded on the 8210 and 9123, so repeated use may result in tears at the staple points that can compromise the seal.

The point is, in this situation you can't say one item isn't a bargain just because a different brand or model is cheaper. They're not identical. Some people prefer Samsung to Realme, some people prefer Apple to Samsung; they're all phones, but they're not exactly the same - you wouldn't go neg an iPhone deal would you?

Some people don't mind paying extra for the reputation and comfort of this 3M 9123 while others don't see the point and are satisfied with a 40c Craftright mask from Bunnings.
