    tga approved ??

TGA does not approve any mask actually contrary to popular belief. They regulate medical devices, which have to be registered on the ARTG, a subset of which are surgical masks and respirators. Even then those surgical masks and respirators are not tested by the TGA prior to sale to the public. The TGA trusts that the seller holds evidence to back the claims. The TGA does reviews after the masks have been sold to the public, but not on all as they only have a limited capacity.

Anyone tried these? I've been pretty reluctant to buy masks online because of authenticity

No mention of compliance or certificate or anything so would be cautious also does not state where it is made or where it is shipping from.

"Unlike KN95s, KF94 masks were not granted EUA from the FDA. Still, like KN95s, KF94s are a an upgrade from cloth or surgical masks. " as per cnet

They were granted the EUA because of the N95 shortage they had, it was revoked in July. To add, Korea also banned the export of masks for a time, so that may factor into not being granted an EUA.

I'm confused why in the photo two of the layers have holes in them… kinda defeats the purpose, does it not?

I'm also curious how many of them have been sold at RRP ($239.00, supposedly). It's surprising how these businesses survive selling their product @ "70% off"…

Just from some quick web searcing, it looks like KN94 masks are trying to capture the market for people who can't get (or don't want to pay for) N95 masks.

This site looks like it has a good comparison on masks types.
And if you're curious how N95s work, here's a good video.

KF94 is the Korean filter standard. I can't vouch for these as I don't know where they are made in but the ones made in Korea are very good. Be wary though, I have read that Chinese are now making/selling fake "Make in Korea" masks.

Big red flag that they don't reveal the actual manufacturer and model #. Chances are these are fake KF94s and made in China. Pass

Good deal if they're genuine KF94 masks made in korea.

The difference between KF94 (korean standard) and KN95 (chinese standard) is that in korea the manufacturers are held to a standard to get certified, in china they do not.

says they are single packed, and no where on the purchase page can you see a box or manufacturer. I'd stay well clear of these.

  • +1

I stay away from KN95 as it's too hard to tell the genuine vs fake for KN95.

I stick with AMD's P2 (aussie made) or KF94 (Made in Korea) with manufacture packing.
So far the cheapest genuine KF94 I can find is approx around $1 per mask.

fake lol, same as the ebay ones that say theyre “kn94”. You can also find these for $50 on ebay

This mask made in China. Here is their website.

Not sure if it's any good.

Says it's GB 2626-2019 standard, which is KN95, but from what I can gather, they're supposed to have markings indicating as such on the mask, which these don't have.
