    Toshiba laptops suck.

    • +2

My 8 year old toshi- laptop runs windows 8 beautifully. My 1.5 year old toshi netbook (in copper finish) has survived many bumps and drops, while running, with no issues at all. It runs great and looks great.

      • Do you mean, Windows 7?

  • Can I refer a friend and get 10% off this deal or does my friend have to make a purchase then I get 10% off…

    orange and brown hey?

    and a 1ghz processor… i dont think i'm that patient

  • orange and brown hey?

Or more correctly - zesty orange and copper brown

Sounds like the leftovers that never sold at retail.

    • yeah like those samsung pink ultrabooks… nice specs but hard to use something thats that pink for a guy

  • "Estimated" battery life????
You mean Toshiba dont test or time it??

    • +2

More like, "your mileage may vary". A fresh battery with a full charge can run anything from about 3.5 hours ("Heater on full with windows open" - full screen brightness, high processor load, wi-fi & bluetooth active, etc) to over 14 hours ("Lights on but no-one home" - basically idling with all power-reduction measures on).

I find that with a new battery, it generally runs a little over five hours on a full charge, with wi-fi active, watching movies and surfing or light gaming, and a reasonable screen brightness. You could, perhaps, edit a local document with the lowest screen brightness and power-saving mode on, and get to around 8 hours.

      • I agree, I get similar performance.

  • 2 weeks delivery is a bit long?

    • Can you point out a similar spec'd unit for the same price?

Would love to see this unicorn!

Oh my god two people voted positive. On this, in 2012.

  • on the plus side it has hdmi and 3 usb but the 1,024 x 600 screen isn't good

    • +3

What is a "good" resolution for a 10.1 incher?

      • yeah it's not 24 inch, what do you expect. You could not read the text if the made the pixels smaller.

      • +4

A good resolution for a 10.1 incher would be to buy bigger pants in future.

      • -1

1024x600 is what all the other netbooks have, so this one doesn't stand out.

Personally i wouldn't settle for anything smaller than 1280 x 800, regardless of screen size.

  • re cpu, "delivers remarkable performance reduces power consumption and extends battery life" only compared to other netbooks! i had the Asus with the C50, good battery life and does HD video no problems even high bit rates, but for cpu intensive stuff, even my last 3 mobile phones were more responsive!

  • not a bad price overall

  • I actually have the earlier model, the NB305, in copper finish and paid nearly twice this 1.5 years ago. I use it to supplement my desktop grunt PC when I need to move (just to next room or on the road). It is really nice to look at and is a tuff finish. I have also dropped mine many times onto a carpeted floor from 50cm+. I watch TV shows off the net, do my financials and I even wrote 4 books on this puppy. Yeah it's small (I hook it up to a big monitor on occasions), yeah its not that fast, yeah I'm glad upgraded to 2gig, but if you don't intensive game - or only retro game and get online to check your ozbargains then this is a great little machine. It does run a heck of a long time on the batteries even after 1+ years. So if you are a He-man, Schwarzenegger, mega-games junkie or someone who feels the need to 'over compensate for something' then don't buy one, it's resolution and cpu won't support your ego. It IS a notebook, it works well, it looks nice and it takes a few knocks. I love mine.

  • I have this laptop, got it from officeworks 2 months ago for about $300. Its a pretty good laptop nice touchpad and keyboard, the brown color looks really good and the speakers are really good quality (and can be hooked up with aux jack to use them as external speakers). But the hard drive died :| but at least Toshiba has replaced it :D

    • That's the older, lower spec one. This is actually a good price for this model as long as you throw in a 4Gb RAM stick and upgrades to 64 bit Windows.

Bought a nice blue one for my daughter a little while back.

  • Silly resolution - I would rather have a look at the MLN weekly deals and pay a bit more I think.

  • Ad doesn't mention the "new" word.
Hate to think that is is "re-furbished"
