This is due to retire sometime in 2022 as well. If buying for an investment make sure you get the Mario starter pack to go with too.
Decent price. Cheapest I’ve seen is Myer during cyber sale for $249.

      I rather buy gold!

        Nintendo

      • I regret selling my pretty much new N64 Gold edition (I was a Sega fan, so played on the console maybe twice and then boxed it back up) for around $150 back in 2000

… how about not buying for investment and actually letting someone else actually play with the bricks inside.

      /end rant

      • -2

Can I play with you then

      • I'm sure there are plenty to go around. It's well known that limited run Lego is valuable…these sets in my opinion are aimed at people wanting to collect, to build or not to build, each to their own I guess, if people want to play with bricks they could just buy a a box of mixed Lego bricks.

Investment be damned, I pulled mine straight out of the box and the wife and I put it together in a day or so.

Look forward to building my original Taj Mahal set one day too.

This set is amazing! And definitely get the Mario starter pack for the Bluetooth Lego Mario. It plugs into the Lego set and makes noises when you hit coins etc

    • Which Mario Starter Pack? I grabbed two of these NES ones… My first lego purchase in adulthood!

      • +1

        Lego 71360

Thanks! I can't help but feel this may become a rabbit hole…

          • +2

@user404: Yeap! I’m just over two years down the rabbit hole. It was the Downtown Diner that caught my attention and got me into LEGO. Good thing is you can always sell if you lose interest

Found this quick vid to show what it does cos I wanted to find out too if it was a "must have" companion. Gotta budget for it if so lol

(This one is better done: https://youtu.be/EwIQJK17L6I)

Hmm would be nice if you could just buy Mario separately but hey that's their whole idea isn't it… $_$

    OOS

  • +2

WTF does this cost more than the original NES?

  • +3

I would only pay $280 for this if it actually had an NES inside.

    • +1

its an amazing build, you attached the bluetooth mario to the top of it, and when you use the tv it gives the noises of the coins, the jumps and the monsters being killed. also a very detailed build for lego enthusiasts

  • still in stock, ordered fine.

  • I think I'll just stick with the real thing :P

  • Take the guts out of an OG Nintendo, trim it where you can and put it inside this? Now that'd be a conversation starter

  • Wake up Nintendo generation..

  • +2

Wish there was the red & white Famicom …
