The ones you earn cashback on

  • +2

    Ends 31st January 2022 11.59pm AEDT

  • You can't get cashback on gift card purchases right?

  • +1

    Whatcha buying EC?

    • +1

      Maybe some skin care

      • A reply I honestly would never have expected, but surprisingly find quite useful. Instead of buying more e-waste, skin care products would be neat haha :)

        • +3

Nivea is on sale too … how lucky

Im buying less now since ive started making my own skin care products, organic all natural and no additives or chemicals. Did a lot of reading though

          • @easternculture: Certainly plenty of products you can get for a few cents. I'm using this currently and it's great.

Like Lush without the expensive price tag?

            • @Clear:

Like Lush without the expensive price tag?

Can be pricey especially if your trying to stay 100% organic, pure serums can also be pricey.

Luckily dont need retinol cause have my own stash of tretinoin (Retin A cream) lol

            • @Clear: Yeah you can make own mixes of Essential oils (rosehip) and aloe vera and or a carrier oil like almond oil.. didn't get around to trying it properly but hate when oils get on your hands then on everything you touch.

          • +6

@easternculture: Only items listed under ‘premium beauty’ has cashback, normal beauty has 0% cashback right now.

            • +1

@magster: Oh bugga .. lucky havent bought anything yet

Maybe caffeine tablets (need them for the gym) , the muscletech ones i think are under sports and outdoors

            • @magster: So how do I look for premium beauty? Can’t see any in categories.

              • +6

@Thrifty Dan: If you are on your phone, you need to ‘request desktop website’ to see the categories on the top left in Bold.
Here, I’ve filtered out for you and sorted by lowest to highest $:
                https://www.amazon.com.au/s?i=luxury-beauty&bbn=5936609051&r…

                • @magster: Thanks. Nothing interesting there. Do you believe the $2 Cashback don’t get honored just on beauty products? They are listed with 0% but maybe the $2 still get paid?

                  • @Thrifty Dan: No as others mentioned, it won’t get paid if cashback is 0%. You can search in other eligible categories if there’s anything of interest.

                    • @magster: Ok thanks. Need to check on computer tomorrow. Best would be to put all categories which are eligible in the filter and then sort from lowest $…

      • Probably not. Beauty (Includes Haircare & Hair Styling, Makeup, Fragrances, Manicures) 0.00%.
Hard to find a cheap product..

  • Probably a dumb question but if we're guaranteed to get $2 back from this purchase, what's the percentages in the description for?

    • +1

The $2 is bonus cashback that you'll get in addition to those stated cashback rates

      • +1

Cheers. Looks like I'll be getting an extra ~$0.10 lol

  • +6

Thanks EC - added to the BCMT for tracking purposes

  • +5

Categories a bit rubbish. Might not be able to spend it without being wasteful

    • +1

If I'm not wrong, there are a LOT more categories available (according to the app), they just have 0% cashback (But I think still give the extra $2??) - If someone else could verify this please, it would help out a bit!!

      • +3

0% means ineligible for cashback so most likely you won't receive the bonus.

        • +1

Oh alright. Bit misleading then as the app shows a list of categories when you click through to buy on Amazon, and the 0% ones are in there too

      • Following

        • Honestly, don't get your hopes up. I trust ozvictor more than myself, so I absolutely wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong lol

      • I may also be wrong, but I think eBay at least used to work like this with codes? You'd get the bonus but not any normal cashback?

  • Can someone with car knowledge tell me, if I already have a dual car polisher tool and a cut compound for the real bad areas, do I get this https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B082MMFBXK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt… for the not as badly affected areas? The more I read up on it the more I get confused. Many thanks!

  • Can we pay using gift card or will that invalidate cashback?

    • You can pay with gift card

  • +1

    I just paid with a gift card. I can’t find anywhere where it states u can’t .

  • Pantry stuff or household consumables usually 0%..
Cheap Neutrogena crap alright and same price as Coles (on special). Cheers op

    • Only if the Neutrogena stuff is under the premium beauty category. Otherwise

Beauty (Includes Haircare & Hair Styling, Makeup, Fragrances, Manicures) 0.00%

      • Was a basic moisture
Oh well was going to get at Coles anyway, ordered a few other bits from Amazon
Wonder if can use the link again
        Waste of time

  • Does it take awhile to track? I've purchased 1 hr ago and still haven't received anything.

    • Nothing from just now but says could take up to 2 days

    • Yeah my last purchase (3 days ago) took 18 hours to track. So don't panic just yet.

      • Tracked email but 0%
Hopefully the eBay one is eligible, hasn't tracked yet.

        • Mine was also tracked with 0%. Very suspicious. I'm no fool when checking categories. I purchased from the Electronics category - it wasn't a duel listing and I paid with gift cards. Not happy.

Really hoping this is just an e-mail error because Shopback website still shows "Calculating…".

          • @markathome: Time will tell I guess. Checked the app and it says reward pending.
Turns out the Neutrogena stuff I got wasn't premium beauty so not covered, however was going to purchase it anyway so no drama. Annoying if you got something for the sake of it and out of pocket though.

The similar eBay one looks like it's worked fine (challenge completed).

  • I am going to buy $40 worth of item, can i combine this with the $30 giftcard i bought from the shopback deal? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/680289

    • Yes, I will be doing the same buying 39 worth of items and paying with the gift card)

      • Ah right thanks for confirming

  • No free shipping if I don't Amazon prime?

    • No

      • Over $35 it is I think

        • +1

          $39.

          • @Yola: Yea 39 international

  • +5
    • Did you create the picture? Will that also be analogous to Nokia?

  • Like before, will the bonus be paid if gift card or promotional credit used?

    • +3

Gift card yes, promo credit no

  • Thanks OP, also grabbed a spot in the gift card deal too

  • Not sure what to get, anyone got any inspo?

  • +2

Even in mobile view if you scroll down to bottom of the page you get the "you are here" breadcrumb, which shows the category.

For example for the bathtub liner I was looking at

    You are here
    Department >Home >Bath >Bathroom Accessories

On a related note Blutac is down to $1.50 and it is under home according to the "you are here" on the bottom. Do double check for yourself.
    https://www.amazon.com.au/BOSTIK-BLU-TACK-S050Q-Bostik/dp/B0…

    • Shame that doesn't work on the app :(

    • I think it is under Office Products 0% cashback, but it may still work for zero cashback.

  • All slots taken…

  • +1

Is this targeted? I can see gift cards challenge but not Amazon in ShopBack app…

    • Me too

      • You just missed out. All slots are now full.

  • -2

Hmm I dont have amazon prime, No free delivery :(, took a slot, now cant make any use of it.

    • +1

May be get prime, looks like plenty of amazon shopback deals in 2022.

    • +1

Free prime trial? Just remember to cancel if it's not worth it for you?

    • It's only $59 a year/$4.91 per month.

Hardly will break the bank, but unlike eBay Plus you will undoubtably use it more than the occasional eBay plus unobtainable deal.

      • +1

Use revolut and get $20 cashback.

        • +1

Thank you man, you saved my slot! totally forgot about that offer

          • @USER DC: Great, today is the last day of the promotional period, don't forget to read the terms carefully, you need to use virtual card etc, check the revolut thread on ozbargain for detail.

            • @htc: Yup did it yesterday, used my blue virtual card (from revolut) for payment. Now only waiting for shopback's tracking

  • +1

Any recommendations what to get for $2?

    • +1

Nothing save ya money and time

  • +1

Anyone worked out if you can buy from 0% cashback categories and get the $2 bonus?

    • +1

      No still waiting

    • None of the categories listed ^ are 0% so I doubt it

    • +1

      It says in the app:

Spend $2 at Amazon Australia (on eligible categories only)

  • Anyone else getting the issue where clicking the link to Amazon (i.e. https://www.shopback.com.au/amazon-official-store) on PC, it goes straight back to the home page? I tried with different browsers and private browsing and it doesn't bring up the Amazon page. It also doesn't show up in "All Stores" for me.

    • +1

Yeah it's a bit weird right now, not exactly confidence inspiring.

      Use this link.

  • +1

and my amazon purchase from the 'Premium Beauty' category tracks at $0
    always the way :/

    • I bought white king bleach from the home category and it tracked at $0 for me too

      • +2

But I just got notification I completed the challenge.

        • So I can get bonus for 0% category?

          • @htc: no.

          • @htc: I don't know, I bought from a 4% category but tracked as 0 so I've sent them an email

  • Same

  • I find the categories so confusing.. i.e. electronics… that category includes videogames on the main site, so are they included or not?

  • Is Home>Household & Cleaning an eligible category? As usual with Amazon the included/excluded categories impossibly confusing! Also do we still get the bonus if we buy from 0% category?

  • Did anyone find anything useful and cheap or free with the 2$ cashback?

  • Has tracking started for people yet? I haven't received anything yet from purchase on same day

    • Disregard, just came through

  • +2

Enjoy Amazon but it's a lot of wastage, including the packaging and delivery for a free $2.. unless getting a few things. Even then they send out separately when they could bundle things up for the sake of a day
