      Amaysim will post you a new sim when you redeem the voucher code.

      If you already have an Amaysim account, login to it when redeeming and the new service will be associated with the account.

      Dont cancel the auto renewal until after the last of the 6 month renewals has occurred. Make a calendar entry to remind you to do it in 6 months time.

          My experience from a similar amaysim/Groupon deal 18-24 mths ago was that if you turned off auto renew then the subsequent $0 months also wouldn't renew.

          Maybe Amaysim have changed the system since, but that was my experience from 18-24 mths ago.

    WHy do they want me to pay twice? I paid $8.95 on Groupon website, then got an email with a link for online redemption. I enter DUO10 in the promo code field, then I fill in my details and then it wants me to pay $12 by credit card at the end. Did I miss a step? How do I get this SIM posted to me after buying it from Groupon?

      Ummm, the DUO10 is for Groupon not for Amaysim. Put only the code you receive from Groupon in your emails into the amaysim promo code box.

      DUO10 is for when you buy it on Groupon. takes it from 9.95 to 8.95. Groupon gives you a link code for to you redeem the offer on Amaysim

    For those who got stung with payment for the last renewal - you need to be diligent when using these amaysim deals. When you activate, go to manage plan and find your promo details on the top. It will state when your promo ends. Calculate which date your last renewal will fall on, check if it's within the promo date. If it's not, you need to contact support before the last renewal and they will give you credit for the last renewal.

    amaysim promo date calculation is a little dodgy especially if you activate the sim late, like close to the date stated on groupon. But their live chat is pretty easy to deal with and plans like these are great value. You just need to put in the effort.

      You are right. To avoid the hassle, the closer dates between redeem and activate, the less chance to miss out free renewals. I got full 6 free renewals without contact CS last time.

      I don't think it's automatic? It just sends you a you've used X% of your allowance and if that's 100% you can't access data any more unless you pay (or renew early)

      I’m not 100% sure. Others who knows please confirm.

      I can’t find the switch off extra data from being charged. But being a prepay plan, once all data is exhausted, it will deduct from credit (money) balance you topped up earlier. Since I never needed to top up, the data were just never being charged when it was used up. If that make sense.

    Hi guys I’m after a SIM with pay as you go need mostly at home as after hours call. Mostly voice calls and very less data on mobile.
    If I purchase this SIM card what happens after the first 6 months? Does it start charging me insanely or I can go payg keep the activated number and top up data if required?

    I’ll need just incoming calls on this number for after hours tech team to call me. If I use my normal number I’ll get calls and notifications from everyone unless iPhone can white list some numbers.

      If you don’t need data at all, Aldi’s $5 PAYG plan is better. One year expiry.

      Once you change your payment method to BPAY you can't be charged if you have no existing credit.
      If you change plans during the last renewal month it will switch to PAYG for the next 12 months.

        @me1stt so with Aldi’s $5 SIM I’ll get a credit of $5 and one year expiry? After that what happens if I do not renew or would just want the number?

        Also my need is to get voice calls and make Australian voice calls. Just looking at the payg Aldi they charge a lot for making voice calls. Am I correct?
        The reason I need this is cause of after hours random calls from my engineers. iPhone has focus mode where I should be able to white list numbers but just tried experimenting it fails. Hence I need a second number.

    After entering the voucher code, press enter then an apply voucher option should display, check this option and confirmation of your voucher should display before you press checkout button. I was caught by incorrect Step 2 instructions. Solved eventually by Amaysim chat.

      Since the last redeem day is 21st Feb, activate on the 10th Mar is guaranteed to lose one free renewal by default, which is the dodgy setup mentioned above. If you dont want to contact CS, activate it ASAP after 21st.

    I'm finishing up the 4 months amaysim deal and the timing of this deal is awesome. but i guess i will have to port out to, say, Aldi @$5, for a day or 2 before i can port back to amaysim with this new deal?

    are there free alternatives for the switch? i know Telstra USED to have free sim with free porting, not anymore?

      Kogan have a $2.90 Sim and plan you can port out to. Cheaper than the ALDI deal.

      To keep the same amaysim number, I tried to port out to Vodafone $2 SIM, as that used to be a free option. But now Vodafone seemed to want me to recharge straight away, so I decided to just get a new number from amaysim (as this is my second/backup SIM in the phone, I mostly use it for data, as Optus network has better reception than the Telstra network in a number of the places I shop … I personally don't get why anyone would not pay $8.95 for nearly 6 months of mobile network redundancy/backup).

    I put mine in my phone and activated and it showed 26 days left of 28 so it looks like they set the start as of when you buy it not when you activate it.

    But mine won't work still. Is there a wait time after activation?

      It'll reset in 2 days, better to use the service for anything to trigger it, but the promo end date was set firm from the day you redeemed the Groupon voucher.

      Since it only took 6 days for you to receive and activate it, you are good to have the full 6 renewals by default.

      They normally recognise when you start to use the service and reset it for you. Otherwise reach out to them if that didn't happen.

    When I redeem the code, amaysim asks for the phone number to port in.
    Does it mean amaysim will port in my number immediately right after I redeem?
    Or the number taking over will happen when I activate the new SIM card?
