[Price Error] Lenovo USB-C 65W AC Adapter (AU) $15 Delivered @ Lenovo

Moved to Forum: Original Link Reason: Price error, not honoured.

My first post!
4.5/ 5 stars and ships in 6-9 days, Not sure how this fares against the Dell charger posted a few days ago but I have ordered two :)
From their page:

Lenovo AC Adapter offers fast and efficient charging. Keep one in the office, one at home, and another in your case for convenient access to power. Just plug it into an available outlet to deliver AC power to compatible Lenovo laptops and recharge its battery. Lenovo AC adapters are compact, energy efficient and backed by a 1-year warranty.

Update: For all those of you feeling bad about their cancelled orders, well my order has been cancelled as well. Guess that's the price one has to pay for OZB fraternity :) Now back to Dell, asking them not to cancel my order that I asked them to cancel after I ordered Lenovo's ;)

      • This is the second email that they sent out. The first stated the price error

  • CANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNCEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEDDDDDDDDDDDDD

    • yeah not happy Jan, worth a shot… Money refunded. Nothing loss and nothing gained
  • +3

I got the cancellation email, but instead of the full $15 refund, they’re refunding me $13.65

      Processing fee. LOL

        What a load of crap

        • Yanking your chain by the way. Complain about that to lenovo. Thats not on.

          • @xoom: yep, totally BS that they think they can charge back less than the original charged amount. Sending email now. If they not refund correctly, will raise a charge back and complain to Fair trading.

    • +2

I'd wait until the actual refund comes through on the payment method to see what they refund. Its missing GST from the amount in the email but i'd think it will be actually $15 refunded

    • +1

They haven't charged your card, they only put a pre authorisation. It will drop off in a few days.

  • +4

Just got the cancellation email and I don’t like the wording at all!

Your order has been cancelled as you requested.

I did not request the cancellation.

    • -1

Call Lenovo and informed them that they made a mistake, tell them you are willing to pay $99 total for the charger. I'm sure Lenovo will gladly ship you one for $99.

Honestly, it would have been better for Lenovo to release / cancel the pre-auth. If Lenovo simply lets the pre-auth expires, people could still be waiting for days for that amount to be released.

      • +1

if i have time i will call them and request them to change the wording, since it is Lenovo cancelling the order

it is not the money, it is the principle of them owning to their mistakes in the communications lol

        • eBay Power Sellers can cancel orders without buyer's approval. Myer did it to me once and Myer a whole week after I paid for the order. No apology, nothing, just cancelled.

For $15, it's not worth your time.

    • Dear Lenovo Customer,
This email is to inform you that we will need to cancel your order for Lenovo USB-C 65W Adapter.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused, however, we have identified a system pricing issue that occurred between 02.02.2022 – 07.02.2022.
Once we have cancelled your order you will receive a refund back into the nominated payment method. Please note that your refund may take longer than expected depending on your financial institution.
Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter.

You didn't get this email a couple days back?

They then sent out another today.

      • I did, is just that the cancellation email is not conveying the right info
And not too happy about it lol

(I have better things to do rather than complaining, but an email shouldn’t take too long) hmmmm

        • They literally said it was canceled due to price error AND they cancelled the order.

The second one was just an automated one cancelling the order proper, and sure, they messed the second one up. But YOU ALREADY KNEW IT WAS A PRICE ERROR AND THEY CANCELLED IT from the original email. This is worthy of a compliant?

          10/10 Karen right here.

          • @annarchon: Yes this is a Karen move, for yelling at someone being paid minimum wages about something they do not have control about
            (Get me your manager)

However I have better things to do and just thinking this scenario out as a thought process without actioning it would still be fine I assume

        • At best probably you'll just get more apologies. Its a price error, it happens

  • My wife gave me a task of finding a new usb c charger. I thought I did good by ordering this one. She was pleased with that, and I was given happy times as a reward. Then they didn’t honour the price and sent out an email saying I cancelled the order. I got in deep shit when the wife read that email. My anus hurts now.

A dodgy workaround is to get a cheap one from feeBay. i.e. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/203648001073?hash=item2f6a5de431…
However, if smoke comes out of that, I am not responsible. Also, if a cheaper one becomes available, your wife might be unhappy again.

If I really need one right now, I'd probably get the $50 Lenovo one.

I was given happy times as a reward

      My anus hurts now.

      Great reward system… I think?

    • Sorry to hear about your pain.

You can check out the Dell E5 65W USB-C AC Adapter for $46.38

Disclosure: I work for Dell EMC not Dell, and definitely am not an official Dell store rep, so I can't help anyone in an official capacity either (sort of like working for Big W but commenting on Woolworths posts)

  • Has anyone got their money back?

    • No as they never took the money to bein with (in my case at least), regardless of transaction being processed on their end and Invoice received.

    • The original pending charge would should have disappeared so you didnt get charged in the first place.

      • DID not happen with Zip.

Stupid company, Wish i had used one of my Credit cards instead of this dodgy sh*t company

Feeling bored so I spoke to Lenovo online. This charger is $99. But manager brought it down to $30. I asked what the difference was between this charger and others that are also 65w

    The reply I got was:

Noel (10:54:46 GMT) : Not all chargers are compatible with all laptops.
Noel (10:55:03 GMT) : Compatibility makes the difference in price.
Visitor (10:55:05 GMT) : How is it different to other one. It also supports same output plus more
Noel (10:55:35 GMT) : There has to be compatible drivers on the laptop that support the charger to supply the power.
    Visitor (10:55:46 GMT) : !!!!

  • DUDE they still HAVE NOT REFUNDED ORDER YET Been like 2 months still bloody hell this is ridiculous. I will not be buying from Lenovo ever after this incident

    • They didn't take my $$ to start with, just double checked.

      • +1

not the full truth IMO, because they did put a charge on account, (even though they did not complete it fully, they still reduced my available credit/funds) so regardless of whether they collected the $$ or not, my financial institution reserved $$ from my credit for them aka it still costed me (as per loss of credit temporarily)

        • If you don't have access to it, then they've taken it. Have you reached out to follow up?

          • @lordra: Yes they (lenovo) completed the charge and refunded it today

        • It was either 1 cent or $1 with a credit card. I can't remember but hardly life changing amount. Was it different with Zip?

    • You said you paid with Zip above. Maybe the issue lies with them.

      • Yes certainly i believe so, should always be paying with Visa/mastercards I think (i think even the one time disposable visa zip cards are okay too, but ofcourse a Credit card offer a bigger convenience, assurance). But when dealing with ZIP and merchant directly it's a mess. Zip doesn't give much protection unlike visa/mastercards IMO. Zip's saying was you need to contact merchant with this issue, we cannot return the money (even though its been 2 months nearly, zip will continue to keep charge under Pending).

        • shit just found out the same thing, mine was still pending after 3 months, ridiculous

          • @reacher: Yup I totally agree its ridiculous how the heck can a transaction stay pending for so long, and Zip itself wont take any action.

But fortunately Lenovo should be able to fix it easily.

But those dodgy people will not budge to compensate at all for their recklessness.
