GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3050 EAGLE OC 8G Video Card $559 Delivered ($0 MEL C&C) @ BPC Technology

70

Hard to call this a deal considering other models sold out at launch for $400-450, however, it's the lowest it's been since launch.

There's likely someone with a DLSS + Streaming need that prefers this over a $629 rx 6600, which bests it by a fair few percent in rasterization.

-edit- back on sale $559

-Gaming model $579-

Needs to be sub-$500 to be worthy of OzBargain deal status, IMO.

This I'd agree with. Personally I went with the 6600. Unfortunately IMO this is the minimum for a "budget" build at the moment (DLSS).

      • LOL, I bet people with GTX 750s are furious that you said the RTX 3050 is the minimum for a budget build

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

This should be the price of a 3060, I will keep holding, even if its forever!!!

    • Were does one find the 3060 at 3050 price of $579?

In an alternative reality where cryptominers don't exist

        • +2

Miners aren't buying these. It's price gouging pure and simple.

@buffalo bill: Pretty much - Nvidia seen what retailers have been selling the 30XX cards and took a punt at making some profit with the 3050 price.

          • @buffalo bill: True for the 3050 but miners did fuel the shortage which drove the prices of the GPU into the stratosphere

    • I got excited for a second when I skim read the title thinking it was a 3060

    • As someone who really appreciates being able to experience the latest gaming worlds on a budget, it's truly sad that one can no longer pcpartpicker their way to a console-like experience for less than the price of a console.

Perhaps PC gaming will again become the realm of the wealthy (if it already hasn't), just like back in the days of the 486, and there will be no option to enjoy amazing worlds outside of streaming, subscriptions to netflix-style consumption where you don't truly own or get a say in the product, or a one-size-fits-all console. /rant

Prefer the 286-486 era tbh. You'd have to free up RAM, compress hard drives, add command line parameters to get audio to work if you had it, but at least housing was affordable for everyone who had a go and you could still buy stuff made in Australia.

With 8gb of VRAM this could be the ideal transcoder for plex. Needs to be cheaper though.

It's promising that there are slowly more 'deals' popping up. Even if they aren't proper deals, there's an improvement and I'm happy to see it!

  • So, that was weird, within an hour or two of posting the price went back up actually above what it started at ($599) to $609. Guessed they realised people were saving $30?

    • Thats why some of these retailers are very dodgy on prices

  • Looks like it's back on "sale" for $559
