Need a sub $600 deal again for the S3000pros

    • +1

      I'd jump on that.

    • Yeah i'm waiting for it - the s3000 pros are super competitive at even $800, let alone $600.

    • I got mine for $545 a year ago and then $99 for the matching stands……… 3rd best decision of my life

      • +1

@MrQ88 dude, you got me hooked? what were the first two?

        • Hookers and beer……. Both change places frequently

Looks like amazon is matching mwave for those who don’t have prime or don’t want to contribute to the bezos ivory buttscratcher fund.

Hoping amazon do the s2000mkiii for $399 again soon

Have had these since december. Highly recommend

Same - best value for money. They're dual amping for the mid range and tweeter (and the sub), so there's loads of control of the treble and bass via the knobs.

  • Is the sub cabled or wireless?

    • +1

      Wired

      • enough cable for a standing desk?

        • Yes, i use mine with a standing desk.

        • It runs from the right channel speaker so if you want the sub on the left hand side keep that in mind, however mine easily runs to the left behind a TV cabinet the length of a 65” tv

    • Wired - the 360DB is a wireless sub.

  • great speaker however the woofer is exposed

    • In what way?

      • +18

The FBI has a folder on it.

      • +1

There's no grill / protector so you have to be careful not to accidentally break it.

        • yes this is what i meant

  • checked my one 282.39 from wireless 1 Mar 2021 still very good

  • can you add rears to these ?

    • no

    • If you buy 2 sets and connect one of them to the rear out.

      • dont have an amp

    • You could add rear speakers to the device that's sending audio these speakers if it supports it.

  • I'm assuming the S351DB on their site is the newer model?

    • It's just black in colour - same specs IIRC. The S360DB is the 'newer' or 'better' model.. It has slightly better audio processing and amplification and also a wireless sub

These are a really good set for a computer workstation. Own these and very happy with the sound it produces.

Just be aware the Edifier marketing photos for these appear deceiving. The speakers have been photoshopped into the room pictures but not to scale. So the end result makes the speakers look larger than they are. The main drivers on the bookcase speakers are 3" for reference. 2" smaller than the Edifier R1700 models.

    • I always saw these as TV speakers…can't imagine needing that much doof out of the PC

      • Due to the hardwired cable between the sub and the right hand channel speaker, at only 1.5m long, it really limits usage with a TV.

For example, Edifier's marketing image with the TV would be impossible due to the right hand speaker being placed so far away from the sub.

        • Mine easily runs to the ground on the left hand side behind a 65” tv

      • Also, these are 8" subs and not downward facing. Not so suited to produce movie floor shaking rumble. Much more suited to providing great bass for music and general listening.

Don't take these criticisms the wrong way - I love the S350DB set I have here, but just wanted to let others know its limitations and capabilities.

    • I have the 1855DB, was wondering if it would be similar just to get an Edifier T5 sub to plug in as it looks the same

  • To sell my 1700s and get these, or pass….

    • Own both and these are an upgrade due to the sub. If you are not after more impactful bass though, I'd be happy with the R1700s.

  • anyone got any recs for cheaperish speakers? been looking at some krk rokit speakers but would love to hear some thoughts

  • My Corsair SP2500s are still going strong. Would these be an improvement at all?

    • these are 'budget audiophile' speakers, so yeah i'd say so.. I have a pair of logitech Z263s which sound great, but the s350DB sound way better

    • I know 2 friends had their SP2500s blow up in the same way, very cheap power delivery search "sp2500 blow up" or similar to see a number of threads where its violently popped the same way, you're on a ticking time bomb.
There's a reason Corsair discontinued them and never made a follow up product. i would Not trust their PSUs or audio based on that alone. I've had 1 corsair pc atx psu fail within a year and another i had for around 6 before my system shut down anytime id boot a game up aka the wattage delivery was about 1/4th of the rated 750w and was rapidly dying. never again.

      • Mine blew up too ;(

      • Oh wow, that's nuts! I must've just had a lucky batch. Going on 6 years at the moment without issue

    • They look close in specification.

  • I got these on black Friday and honestly these are amazing, you get the crazy loud bass without drowning the dialogs.

I love bass and this is first set on which i had to lower it a few notches, fantastic for music and movies both.

    • Yeap totally agreed - Edifier should make these in a 5.1 configuration IMO.. the satellites offer great quality.

  • Are these good as studio monitors?

    • Not really suited to that use case. I wouldn't rate the output from these as flat response so again, if you are looking for true monitors for studio mixing / mastering use, then these won't cut it. But if you needed true studio monitors, you probably wouldn't be asking that question. These probably fit the bill for those interested in the 'consumer' interpretation of studio monitors which is more about appearance and good solid audio performance.

Edit: although the left and right speakers are fairly small compared to what most people would be looking for. These are more bookshelf speakers with a sub. But still sound great.

      • Unless you are in a very large room these are the correct size for accurate sound reproduction.

    • Yes.

    • Looks like it's only available for $329 now?

  • I'm looking to phase out my old Sony HTCT390 soundbar - would you say this is an upgrade or would I need to go for the S3000Pro?

    • +1

Any stereo setup with even a basic subwoofer would be a big upgrade on most soundbars, so yes is the answer

  • Wow these are awesome
