    Here we go again

    • What do you mean ?

      • +8

This company holds your number hostage the moment you port to them, they take ages to port into, then somehow they lose your number, and when you had enough and want to escape, even if you owe them 1 cent, they will hold your number from being ported.

        • +3

Valuable feedback. Mods should put this in the original description.

        • How can you owe them on prepaid?

          • +3

            @evgpek:

How can you owe them on prepaid?

It's called a shakedown. Rarely makes any sense, but they just squeeze you balls for the sake of it.

          • +2

@evgpek: by going over the data limit is one example, they say prepaid but the moment you give them your card (And you have to) They now have a way to post charge you anytime.

            • @dbmitch: When u do the id validation do u need to send a photo of ur id?

            • @dbmitch: can't you just give them a prepaid card with a few cents' balance on there?

              • +1

@tdw: If you all have to ask me these questions, I think it's VERY CLEAR that you should just give up just to justify porting into this crap company.

                • @dbmitch: who says i'm porting? i want a new number anyway

                  • @tdw: Then that's up to you, But if they already suck in one aspect, you should expect crap for the rest of it.

                    • @dbmitch: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11747213/redir

but point taken that they're a PITA to deal with..

                      • @tdw: I can only say what I experienced, but in the end the decision is yours, you just have to decide if you really want to deal with a company who gladly takes your number hostage for owing them a few cents.

UPDATE: Deal is no longer free anyway.

                        • @dbmitch: So… Do u need to sent them a copy of ur id?
I bought one be4 it gone and not sure I should give them my details.

  • +12

Wouldn't do this if they paid me for it. I have never had such a badly screwed up port in my life. Never again

    • Can you please tell us your experience. Cheers mate.

    • +2

Same for me. They lost my number for 6 weeks! Atrocious.

    • Do you foresee any problems with them if I am planning to just put the sim card in a separate device and use the data, rather than putting it in my phone and porting my own number to them?

  • Server is broken

  • when does the sim expire?

    • Confirmation email says
"Reference number should be used within 30 days".

I assume that means I need to activate it within 30 days from ordering.

      • That Reference number is the recharge code?

        • +1

That's what I'm assuming. I couldn't think of any other reason I would need to 'use' the reference number.

  • Does this have some auto-recharge we need to disable?

    (First time customer)

      Guys, I found this:

      https://cdn.productreview.com.au/resize/review-attachment/7c…

      Woah, not touching this one.

This is publicly available on productreview, so hopefully I'm not breaching some sort of privacy thing by hotlinking it.

      • +1

so they replied to the customer by using product review and attaching customer information on the publicly available site ? i guess that's how they can afford $0 service, by selling your data to scammer.

        • +1

          Disgraceful behaviour by the company.

All of Ozb should get on this deal with a new number, use the data, and then let it expire.

Also, anyone called Mr Butt yet?

        • +1

The customer attached their own personal information, not Telsim.

          See review.

      • wow that sux…

      • So it’s postpaid…yeah na - no deal

      • Butt hurts…..

  • +1

By the reviews, looks like I will be using this for the data as a second sim, not porting my number anywhere near a telco with reviews like that.

    • From the post above I don't even sure I want to give them my details

    • I wouldn't even give them for 2nd use, if you want a sim only for data, just rock with Felix's unlimited data $35

      • Felix plan notes tethering for your devices is OK, but no tethering for a household is allowed. Would they be able to measure this happening?

        • +2

That's way out of my knowledge base, I just know I need it when I'm on my mate's farm, as a portable unlimited modem is invaluable.

        • +2

It's fine. Just don't use more than 500gb a month. In a modem or a phone. If you're an unprofitable customer, they will boot you, it's as simple as that.

  • +1

Can this be activated without a recharge (to receive SMS)?

    • Keen to know as well

  • +3

    IT'S A TRAP!

    • +2

Store Rep is the penalty box. What can you expect from it?

  • website looks suss

  • +4

do not try to do port in with this company . you will regret .

  • "This coupon has expired." when I entered the FREE30. So it is $10 (not $0).

  • Expired? I'm seeing $10 now, normally $30 but when I enter the coupon code it says Expired.

  • Thansk op. Ordered one.

  • +2

    coupon is now expired

  • Hang on, are you guys saying that if I use this sim card in a modem to get 30GB free data, then once I've used up the 30GB it will start charging me postpaid instead of cutting my data off?

    • +3

YES ! thats the wow part, it saids "Prepaid" but they could bill you for more.

      • That is very deceptive. They sound more like scammers than a merely incompetent telco.

  • I’ve redeemed 3 prepaid sims from Telsim

Not knowing that they steal customers data before I bought them, would anyone want to have it instead?

    • Give them to people you don't like. Tell them to port their number over too, especially.

      • I’ll list it on classified, and I’ll make sure to link it to this OzBargain post

Edit: oh bummer I can’t even create a listing as my Oz account is less than 1 yrs old hahaha

  • +1

We shall name this mob Hellsim.

  • got my sim today

  • Got mine today. What do you guys suggest with it? Toss in the bin or just use as newuser? Happy to hear any suggestion. Cheers

  • -1

Got my sim as well, but I placed 3 orders for it and I swear I didn’t see anywhere stated only one SIM card will be delivered per address.

This is def worse than that $0.01 Kogan deal, at least for that deal there was a SIM card per order

    • -2

U could order free sim cards from them,
sim cards are not the main concern here.

      • I had a looked on their website and you have to buy a prepaid sim to get a sim
