better off going for upsized cashback deals and stack them on top of discounts offered by boost

Going the Cashback route is the better deal, but this is for those who don't want to risk cashback dramas

    • I just bought it from Boost. Its $255 EOY deal plus extra $40 cashback from cashrewards (which tracked immediately).

      • May I ask where I can see the details of the cashback please? Just signed up to cashrewards, but it says the cashback rate is $6 for the $300 12 month plan…

    • So that one is $205 after cashback??

Only issue is SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase

      This one Expiry 03/2026

My sim is not expiring until November therefore this is better deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/909765

      160GB is enough for me

$209 with no expiry till next year $4 to pay and not to activate with 30 days restriction or care if cashback works

  • whats the best deal if your already on boost ? can i get this and use it to top up for the next year?

You will have to port out to a different provider, and then you'll be able to port back in using this starter kit. The $5 Aldi SIM works well, I've ported from Boost to Aldi, and then back to Boost with a deal like this and had no issues.

Telstra $2 Sim is the best option I have found, either mailed to you from Telstra or picked up from Officeworks. Porting out and in from Telstra is super quick to boost and the webforms for activating each Sim are almost identical.

        • I thought there were issues with porting to Telstra as they are the same company. Better to use other providers for this

In fact it's better to get those half price deals from amaysim say $15 sim packs use it for a month and port out and back to Boost

          • @neonlight: Your way works too, but no issues with Telstra. I did it a few days ago.

    • As stated in the eBay seller's description:

      • This is a physical SIM starter kit for new customers only
      • Starter kit cannot be used for recharge

You would need to port out to another network (preferably not Telstra if possible), maybe with the use of those $2 SIM cards for a day or two before switching back to Boost as a 'new customer'.

    • You will need to port out

    • I just buy these starter packs and call their help line. The sort it out within 2 minutes keep your number easy done. Also telcobiz traders just sold me a new sim on the old plan $230 plan $208 as I barely use any data, 6gb last year everywher i go has wifi.

      • I did this last year, and the help line said they were cutting back on this…but would do it this once…and a note would be put against my account.

        Is this a thing?
