Boost Mobile: $50 Cashback on 290GB Prepaid 12-Month SIM for $255 Delivered @ TopCashback AU

610

Costs $205 after cashback for 290GB 12-month prepaid SIM. Boost has reduced the price from $300 to $255.
Update: Offer expires on 26th June 11:59pm AEST.
28-Day SIM cashback offer posted here.

  • Cashback is on the purchase of the physical SIM only. You can convert to eSIM after you have received the physical SIM. Activate the physical SIM first, then convert to eSIM.
  • If you're a current Boost customer, you will need to port out into another provider and then port back into Boost. Please see the steps in my comment here.

TA's Tracking Tips:

  • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, and avoid browsers such as Brave.
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. If the SIM is deactivated prior, Boost may decline cashback.
  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it will result in an untracked purchase and the purchase will be ineligible for cashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on eSIMs, recharges, phones, bundles, accessories.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the pink cashback button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • Any accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the cashback system will be banned and cashback forfeited.

Got one, hoped the cashback works.

I got TopCashback deal back in April. Still no cashback yet even after putting a word into customer service.

      • +2

Same here. Bought one in Feb end deal. Never got the cashback despite putting couple of words in with customer service 😃. Never again with TopCashback !

        • @greywine Hello again. We had spoken in my previous Boost posts in June and March. Was your claim rejected or did customer support ask you to wait? Hopefully Boost will pay soon.

          • +1

@trixieb: My cashback claim has not been rejected. It never got tracked in the first place. Support ticket has been raised which has not received any response even after 4 months. With this level of service I will think twice before using TopCashback again.

            • @greywine: Did you use these links to contact TopCashback that I gave you before?
The first is the actual claims page and the second is support where there would be a response in 48 hours. I'm surprised you haven't heard back from anyone. I used these links to contact them about my claims and got a response within a few days. I was also wondering when they would pay as they were silent for a long time.

              • @trixieb: Yes have used the first link for the claim registration. The app does show a claim (with retailer as current status ) but it’s hasn’t moved for almost 3 months now. But as you said it sometimes takes even longer for any update.

                • @greywine: For reassurance, you can reply to them in the claims page and also contact support to ask them to check. TopCashback would be waiting for Boost to check the claim and then pay them.

In terms of not receiving a response, that seems normal during the cashback claims process with all the cashback sites. I also didn't hear from Cashrewards and contacted them but it didn't speed up the process.

                • @greywine: To clarify, the Support link is the one to use for a response within 48 hours. You may not get a reply with the claims link.

I don't understand why people torture themselves by purchasing anything with cashback. You need to throw away some personal and banking info of yours in the hope of getting cashback at there mercy of sellers while you can get direct discount. If you guys stop supporting all these cashback nonsenses, they will go back to traditional discount which more transparent, and straightforward without compromising your personal information.

      • +1

Oh no…maybe I should have got the Onepass or Kogan sim which is $100 cheaper :-(

        • @congo Has your order tracked? I prefer Boost over those 2 you mentioned.

TopCashback in my experience is more reliable than ShopBack and Cashrewards so you chose well.

Cashback payment for Boost is about 3 months (if tracked). Missing cashback claims may take longer while waiting for Boost to check and pay.

          • @trixieb: I definitely don’t share same views. TopCashback never tracked my boost and superloop claims. After raising tickets for missing cashback, I only received cashback for superloop after 3 months. But stilll awaiting any update on boost.

            • @greywine: That's normal waiting period for cashback claims with TopCashback and other cashback sites, depending on the retalier. Even when orders are tracked and not missing, cashback payment takes about 3 months for most retailers and longer with others such as Superloop and Exetel (when tracked).

I've had claims with all the cashback sites and waited 7 months to be paid with Cashrewards (ordered in July 2024 and paid in Feb 2025) with several reminders.

              • +1

@trixieb: Thanks for that info. Then I guess will
                Just wait it out then.

      • @iamnotintheuk I assume your order has tracked. Cashback from Boost offer in April wouldn't have been paid yet. Cashback is usually paid in about 3 months and probably due this month. Estimated payable of the order in your account would state 15 weeks (max) but is usually earlier.

My Boost order in March is confirmed but still hasn't been paid. That's normal for cashback. My Feb Boost order has been paid. Depending on the retailer, cashback may take 3-5 months to be paid.

      • +2

Update: My March Boost purchase has been paid today. Took about 3 months.

    • On the same boat for April deal.. tracked but still not available …

Is this the price we’ve been holding out for ($205 after cashback) or should we keep hodling?

    • We might get the odd leftover Sim from the discontinued plan for around 180, but i think this is as good as it gets nowadays

    • Was $190 per below deal back in March.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/899269

    • Keep hodling forever

  • has there been any discount/cashback on recharges? My current 1 year prepaid is ending at the end of this month.

    • +1

Churn out and rejoin on one of these deals

      • This. Go to post office, but the cheapest sim, port out for a couple of hours, then or back to boost

        • @Averell @TsunamiInTheHouse If you're a current Boost customer, you will need to port out into another provider and then port back into Boost. Please see the steps in my comment here.

      Customer loyalty?

      Not sure it exists anymore.

      • People still buy things on brand name alone. Being loyal to apple buying the new phone without looking at other products, loyalty to clothing brands etc list goes on

    amaysim 200gb 175$

    • I posted that offer. Different network. That is Optus 4G+. This is Telstra 5G.

      • Is it really a big difference? Worth the difference?

        • It depends on your location, usage and device. Boost costs more but it has 5G, more data at 290GB and uses the Telstra network that may work better in some remote areas.

I'm in Perth metro and use Telstra. I find Telstra > Boost > Optus (amaysim) > Vodafone (Lyca).

  • It needs to be $255 always, not just when on sale.

They lost me. I port out shortly after about 10(?) years with them

I've gone, two mobiles now on Coles Mobile and works fine in Melbourne. Not worth over $100 per mobile more. Had Boost for 3 years.

    • Thanks for letting us know.

  • +1

Boost is too expensive now and doesn’t feel worth the premium, I’ve moved on.

    • -1

      Same..

Boost/ Telstra towers are massively congested. They told me to report them to the TIO (go figure)…so guessing support workers have had a gut full of complaints.

But then they simply close your complaint.

Pro tip - Copy/paste your complaint email as a fresh email. Delete any reference to a complaint number (as it will auto bounce back as a closed complaint).

Write your number / old complaint number as misspelt words, and send.

      Will reopen a closed case.

I just moved to Vodafone (gulp)..and sadly much better.

I assume Telstra will soon be Team Elon ….tower maintenance/ updates aren't happening.

The price point for this needs to be around $150.

      • Yep it's useless for me in the CBD now. Use to be quite fast but it really does feel slow, especially since 3G was turned off weirdly.

        • +1

It depends on your location. Telstra and Boost are better for me than Vodafone. Telstra and Boost work well in some remote areas eg remote/regional WA compared to others.

          • @trixieb: Totally agree. But like the other user….when 3G was around I was getting a premium product and was happy to pay a premium price.

But now I cant even open an email between 12 and 6pm. I've never experienced anything that bad with any provider.

Was told tower congestion to be rectified Feb 25, pushed back to March, pushed back to April..pushed back to no set date (and advised I should report this to the TIO)

I live central metro in direct eye line of the tower approx 250m away. I cant be the only person effected. But it's an older area…everyone would be on Telstra.

Hence I tried Vodafone. 1/3 the price. No issues.. but they are rebuilding their brand.

P.S. I got given a couple months on Telstra for free. But even free it wasn't worth the hassle. Bit sad really. This is Telstra..but feels anything but Telstra.
Just to reiterate…free Telstra is too much here!

      • wtf did i just read

    Got one thank you

    • Deal is still on as I check this morning 27/6 if anyone is interested. I bought yesterday and tracked in 10 mins.

  • Paynent is not going through. Any ideas?

  • Anyone having payment problem? Tried different name, address, email address and payment card. Never had problem buying Boost sim in the past and currently have no amservice with Boost. Frustrating.

  • Tried every single combo, didnt work. Same error message

Sorry, We Are Unable Process Your Order. Please Try Again Later

    • Passport number and debit card worked for me. Passport with credit card payment failed.

      • That seems to work for a few here.

        • Tried that too. Same error : (

        • +1

Swapped from credit card to debit card, worked for me.

That's after swapping from phone to laptop, and swapping web browsers, which didn't work.

    • You are not alone.

  • Update: Offer expires on 26th June 11:59pm AEST.

  • Tried buying the $300 sim since last night. It won't for me either! Tried all combos. Last time it worked for me was December 2024 for my other service.

  • Must I have to activate the sim card in 30 days after purchase? Can I activate next year?

    • Unfortunately cashback may be rejected if you don't activate within 30 days. That's a common term with SIM card purchases through cashback.
There will probably be Boost offers next year that you can buy through cashback.

  • Yeah nup. Tried every combo. Can't buy.

  • Can I placed order before 26th June and activate the card 25 July and still get the cashback ? TIA

    • If you buy on 26th June (last day of cashback offer), you can activate on 25th July and be within the 30 day activation term.

      • +1

        thank you 🫶🫶

  • Just got my partner to order. Went thru fine.

I must be blacklisted. Bought too many ozb deals…

    • Can also be an issue for new customers. Several OzBargainers had mentioned they were blocked from buying with the same payment error message but have never been with Telstra/Boost before.

I haven't bought the Boost 28-Day SIM yet but was blocked from buying from the Telstra store last month. Had to use a relative's details (with ID check) to buy. We are both current Telstra customers.

      • Yeah i opened a chat with boost and they know it's a common error. Luckily there's no profitable sim deals to worry about anymore…

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase

Not useful for those expiring end of year

    • There would probably be a similar offer later as these Boost cashback offers have been running often.

  • Can I use a different person's licence number and address for the delivery and later register the SIM in my name ?

    • +1

Yes. Someone else can accept the delivery of the SIM card with their ID details and you can activate/register with your details.

      • +1

        Thank you !

  • +2

Had the same issue as many others. Credit Card failed, but Debit card worked fine.

  • Have an esim only phone (iphone16e) and wonder if I can activate a physical sim without inserting it. Anyone done this? And then how to convert to esim?

  • If anyone has issue when putting order Through "Sorry, something gone wrong" check this post to fix: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/812671

  • Am trying to purchase and have tried all combinations and still not working. Any tips?

    • Did you try using passport as ID, debit card and manually entering your address? Suggestions here.

      • Yep tried it all - different browsers even on phone app.

        • Sorry Telstra/Boost may have blocked you temporarily. You may have to use another person's ID who is at home to receive the SIM or go to the post office to pick up (ID check req).

I had a similar experience with buying from the Telstra store as a Telstra customer. Had to use a relative's ID to buy as the different combination hacks didn't work.

If you experience any issues at the checkout page, start all over again to ensure tracking. Click the pink button at TopCashback through to Boost website again.

          • @trixieb: Yes have tried with another ID and still not working. thanks so much for helping!

  • I need to buy 2 sims, any ideas if I am able to get $50 for each somehow? Hopefully I don't need to create another topcashback account

    • You can use the same TopCashback account but buy the 2 SIM cards separately. Start again and click the pink button at TopCashback through to Boost website again.

      T&Cs:

Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it will result in an untracked purchase and the purchase will be ineligible for cashback.

  • Just wondering, on Boost's website it says "290GB on new activations by 7 July 2025. 240GB ongoing."

Does it mean I only get 240GB if I activate after 7 July?

    • You will get at least 240GB. If Boost has a bonus offer at the time of activation, you will receive that bonus offer. Boost seems to have bonus offers quite often.

SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase.

      • +1

that makes sense, thanks so much!

  • Shame you can't use them for recharge as my plan is ending and will switch. Too much trouble to port out then back again :(

  • Could not finish the order process, got error:
Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later.

    • Several suggestions here.

If you experience any issues at the checkout page, start all over again to ensure tracking. Click the pink button at TopCashback through to Boost website again.

  • Cashback has increased to $60 posted here.
