  • Bit the bullet. Noted on the Discovery Club sneaky sign up. Will cancel ASAP but seems like they have to build a "profile" for you first.

    Also spotted this other offer:

    https://www.virginwines.com.au/jsp/offer/recr/au/vir/offer_t…

"Order one of these great Virgin club cases today and you’ll receive 12 jaw-dropping wines, with every selection receiving 3 FREE Black Pig McLaren Vale Shiraz (worth $69)"

Seems to be a better deal?

    • Depends if you need points and a table I guess ;) Interesting that your link doesn't seem to have an expiry date, unlike my post!

I think you still get the points based on the message below where you input your FF# : "Don't forget, you get 3 Velocity Frequent Flyer Points for every $1 spent with Virgin Wines!"

Hah, yes. 3 wines or a table+prosecco. Tough choice ;)

  • Can anyone confirm based on having consumed them if any of these reds are any good?

I like the options from the post by @ozhxb given you have three different choices for red bundles, but despite it being cheaper, if the wine is crap then I'd rather pass.

    • I have been a member in the past - some wines are good and some can be a bit poop. The black pig reds have been fantastic. I cancelled my Subscription and just select some of their Premium Packs after that. Now for better deals I have been bidding on wine through Langtons and have gotten some ammmmaazzing wines for a great price

      • Thanks for the tip re Langtons. I will have a look at that. Are they like an auction style site (thinking Grays here) or straight this is the price?

Also are they wines that are reduced for whatever reason?

      • "a bit poop" ahahahahaha love this

  • Poster, the "Was $254" claim is BS, and if you were the advertiser saying that, you'd be in breach of the law and risk of prosecution.

It was never that price, these are home-brand labels, and while $99 intro is probably fine, you are signing up for a hard sell on monthly sales.
Virgin has a history of sending unsolicited cases.

    • I've used offers like this three times in 10 years. I've never had any hard sell. I've cancelled after each offer and that was it. My experience might not be the same as others', I don't know.

And if an unsolicited case were to arrive, well that's the sender's problem not yours, assuming you've cancelled or otherwise managed your account correctly.

      • I had the case show up. After a bit they offered for me to keep at a 'discount' . It was sent back. Googling I found quite a few people had the same issue.
Clearly their business model is the subscription. And their people are on commission. Not a good combo. The wine was fine.
