Great, when will we see airfare in the $700's again?

    • +1

Hopefully when more Airlines and flights resume. Might take a year or two is my best guess

  • Wondering what’s the return policy?

    • Read the fine print (as with all travel agents and airlines). Flight and dates changes also attracts charges

  • Great prices

    • I agree. Not quite the level as at pre-covid, but we will get there.

  • While Qantas and United fly MEL-LAX direct, pricing is unfortunately a bit exxy at the moment. However, Air NZ is still a better option for Melburnians - only one transit and several hours less travel time.

    • +1

I agree. Better airline as well. But unfortunately given the very few flights we have atm between North America and Australia (compared to pre-covid times), this is the best of the lot.

So is this SYD-YVR-LAX? Is it cheaper just to get to YVR. My wife need to get home to Winnipeg?

    • +1

I don't know the answer in this particular deal, but in the past it has usually been more expensive to have YVR as your final destination instead of LAX, even though it's one less flight! More demand on SYD-LAX means more competitive pricing compared with SYD-YVR, which is an Air Canada monopoly.

      • Silly how it works that way - it will definitely have to got o YVR being Air Canada - I have been hoping for a great deal from Brisbane, but I think it will colser to the $1700 ranage

What are your dates. Happy to have a look for you :)

          • @flightfinderau: My dates are 13/8/22 - 27/8/22 happy to do SYD - YWG and I can book the bne-syd on points . I have looked on Air Canada already

            • @tnarg: Are those dates set in stone? I found slightly different dates from Sydney for $1470 odd

@flightfinderau: Yep saw those ones as well, but just unsure of booking through MyTrip. With the issues of travel it may be difficult going through a 3rd party (travel agent) when changes may come up.

                • +2

@tnarg: Sure totally understand. You do have some time, so maybe wait a bit for more deals to come out? I will keep an eye out.

You can book a stopover in Vancouver for still cheaper than buying a direct flight. Happy to show you.

    • Happy to have a look for you. What are your dates?

I liked AC. Grey goose bloody marys in economy.

  • nice prices

  • Shame Air Canada have screwed over so many passengers to/from Aus since the pandemic began.
    No refunds since March 2020.
    Just be careful

    • +2

I received a refund from them so this is not correct. Yes they were one of the last airlines to come to the party but I did get a full refund (they were non-refundable tickets).
It was a very painful process and I agree with you to be careful and look at the 'fare rules'.

Who wants to go to that cespool filled with feces along the footpath and possibly get robbed at gunpoint, or may be knocked out unconscious if you happened to Asian.
