Good price on batteries and plenty of stock around too. I have had hit and miss results with batts from Aliex, usually getting what I pay for.

    • Yeah same. They don't last long. Never used the SCA ones though.

    • +2

I ordered 30 from AliExpress last August, surely they will arrive soon.

I always purchase the Sony branded ones from Ali and they seem to last.

  • Bugger I need 2025

    • +4

Only difference between 2032 v 2025 is thickness and capacity.
Every else is the same. Diameter, voltage, discharge current.

      • Yes 3.2mm versus 2.5mm thick.

Using a 2032 when you need a 2025 might not hold the battery correctly and have a poor contact due to the reduced thickness.

        • +13

Other way around, CR2032 is the thicker battery, meaning it won't fit in all instances where a CR2025 is used.

However it there is room, CR2032 would provide additional capacity.

Using a CR2025 in applications that use CR2032 may result in incorrect fitting and poor contact.

          • +4

@mrderrickc: Can confirm - have been using 2025's in my coffee scales, and they are much more inconsistent and seem to die off quite quickly too. Think I just need to stop being lazy and get down to SCA.

      • Yeah my remote stacks 2x 2025 together and relies on the thickness to make contact :S

        • Bend the contact to make a 2025 work.

          • @tunzafun001: Problem is it has one piece of very small contact that goes over either end that sandwiches and holds the 2x batteries together. Don't think I can bend it

          • +3

@tunzafun001: If they are stacked then it needs 6v not 3v.

        • Can you use a 2032 + 2018 to match the thickness?

          • @happychappy1: no, one will expire long before the other one does. Plus the 2032 will be pushing current through the 2018 after it has died which is not a good option.

      • Depending what device your putting battery in. Most time there's a spring loaded metal plate that pushed the battery onto contact's.
You might have that 1mm clearance in the device.
Eg. I've replaced CR1616 with a CR1620 in remote car key. No issues.

      • +4

Put some aluminium foil to increase the thickness.

        • I was saying above it only has 2x thin contacts that sandwich the batteries together. Some foil might not hold a 2032 in there :S

    • Reject Shop has a mixed pack of 2016, 2025, 2032.

      • Speaking of Reject shop, I've had good experiences with their Varta 2032s. Definitely not as cheap as this @ $1.50, but compared to ones I used to get off Fleabay, quality has been night and day.

Best before 01-2026 for the pack I got.

      Bugger I need 2025

      Why? 2026 is better than 2025. /s

Just need a $10 voucher now to get 5L of sanitiser for free lol

  • +2

Great price for batteries. With Apple Airtags approaching a year old, there will be a lot of battery replacements for 2032's soon.

    • +1

Had mine since release day and all 4 of them show full charge still

That hand sanitiser is the same one from Harris Scarfe (picture from Harris Scarfe is showing another product but I got the one same with SCAs) for $0.5 a bottle, however my batch was showing best before date March 2022 so YMMV

    • Pretty sure, still it is good for another year…

  • +4

Are these button batteries the same quality as those cheap ones on ebay?. never again, last tops 3 months in my car fob.Name brand ones last at least 2 years.

    • Same here.

  • CR2032 -great. update car remotes + MB batter.

    • +1

Probably won't last a year, better just to buy panasonic and not worry about it.

  • +9

There's been a push to move away from button cells due to deaths from ingestion. Just make sure to keep them well out of reach from kids!!

The law around batteries is changing in June regarding child resistance for coin batteries, etc. Lots of stores will be clearing out their old stock to make way for new complaint stock.

    • what will they be replaced with?

      • +7

Packaging that will only deploy a single battery at a time, and improved standards for child resistance

        • Some are already like that, unfortunately not all, but good to hear the law's a changing.

      • +22

what will they be replaced with?

Ones that look like broccoli so children stay away from them

    • +2

I've seen new packaging on Energizer CR3032. It's quite an effort to take out the batteries from packaging and usually require a scissor or sharp object to cut the two layers of plastic before accessing it.

    • Yep i saw in the news a baby died from eating it. Very sad.

    • +1

These are already difficult to get out. I replaced 400 of them recently using these. Took forever.

      • +2

What do you own that requires 400?

  • +1

    cheaper than ebay!

  • Manufacture date on the 2032's? I'm not going to buy them if they're near 10 years old.

    • They have a time machine

    • +1

Best before 2026 on the ones I got

      • +1

Damn not long enough. I only need a few per year.

Thanks for the heads up. I assume they'll all be short dated in that case, especially as they're on discount.

        • they don't expire immediately on the date, they just become less efficient.

Spend the $2, you deserve to splurge.

          • @markis: So I'm going to trust some el cheapo branded batteries with short expiry? No thanks.

            • @Oofy Doofy: Well, it's $2. Even if you only get to use half of them, I think you still got your value for money ;)

  • +3

Don't forget cashback offer, right now 1.7% from both CR and SB

  • God dammit why is it so hard to find a 319 (SR527SW) battery!

  • Been using sanitisers to start my charcoal

Spudshed WA sells same sanitiser for 10 cents! not a deal in WA

  • didn't really need these.. but had $5 spare (1x Battery pack, 3x sanitiser pump)

    • +2

Do you have another spare $5? I can send my bank details.

  • Bargain! Bought extra set pickup in another store is going to cancel order.
    One set good for me.

    • Bought with GiftCard $2 at the begining and ask for a refund, received a $5 GiftCard! What a bargain?!

  • +3

Another recent kid death is likely to mandate childproof packaging. For pensioners this means you have to find a teenager who figures out how to open it.

  • When is the expiry date?

How is the life of this battery?

    • +1

2026 for me and a few other posters here including OP. Unsure of battery life but store them in the fridge while not in use. Quality and life will reveal itself over time but for 20c I was willing to take the gamble.
