@Fobsessive: I bought 2-3 bags of SO so far, roast date ranged between 2-3 weeks, so pretty good. The blend might be older.

                • @huntabargain: I picked up medium ALDI beans last time, think I prefer slightly over dark. Roasted 31/12/21

    • Are you saying Sensory Lab are related to St Ali?

  • Question to those who freeze their beans. If I put an entire 1kg bag in without opening the seal, that would be the same as putting them in separate airt tight bags right? Apologies if it seems like a daft question.

    • I've never tried freezing beans, but no, most coffee bags aren't actually airtight: there's a one-way gas release valve to let out the CO2, so I presume it's not the same as chucking them in freezer bags

      • umm, you lost me here, airtight means bag does not allow air in, one way valve lets air/gas out but does not allow air in, seem the same function to me!!

Tried Sensory Lab in the Melbourne CBD maybe 3 times - great branding but really average coffee!

    • Yes! Went with the mrs to melb, around NY so many places were closed. 'Heard' they were good. Great looking cafe but very average.
Months later got their beans in a deal - great packaging, average coffee. Probably not freshly roasted.
