Don't forget that Halo jackets run large (even compared to other Macpac jackets) so go one size lower to what you would normally buy.
I don't agree with one size smaller with Macpac. Tried on my normal jacket size and one size up. I ended up going for the bigger of the two. Unless you like your jackets quite tight. Especially if you are layering underneath. Definitely wouldn't recommend anything smaller than your regular size.
colcha said that Halo jackets run large… for what its worth I get most things in L size but I just left the shop with an M size Halo jacket because I had the exact situation described by colcha. Glad I walked into the shop rather than ordering online.

I imagine that it would make it a bit hard to see? Rain hitting your face is surely better than a bus hitting your face.
there's a fair amount of your face below the eyes, so maybe asking about jackets with extra buttons so you can cover your mouth?

Thought typically rain jackets have a hood that extends out like a hat, so your face gets some rain protection?
Otherwise maybe get like a clear visor that you can put in front of your face (& hope it doesn't fog up). I've see with some raincoats, though not popular.

Probably because eBay jacked up their selling commissions and it’s just not worth doing business anymore. I stopped selling on eBay because of this and moved over to other selling platforms.

How does the mercury compare to the Halo?
I have both from previous deals, mercury is thinner but better down (I think), has a hood. Halo is thicker, no hood, but has an internal pocket the mercury doesn't have.
I personally prefer the mercury in Canberra.My Mercury had 2 internal pockets. Located at the bottom front on each side.
Fill weight of mercury is 137 grams vs hooded halo 219 grams. Halo would be more warm and ticker than mercury.

haven't picked up mercury yet, but description said more filling 650 (mercury) compare to 600 (halo). I guess mercury is better for a bit cooler weather.

I've got a Mercury hooded jacket from last year's sales. It's a fairly decent jacket. Material is nice and soft and good for those nights out in Aussie winter. Far better than the Kathmandu equivalent but not as good my Pantagonia nanopuff. For the price it's a solid buy. 20% off clearance is generally the cheapest they go.

I think I read their returns policy is a little weird, they do online purchase refunds in-store when ordered through Afterpay. Doesn't mention anything about exchanges. Only then the next paragraph, referring to a different purchasing method, does it mention the possibility of refunds OR exchanges.
So I'm not exactly sure what I'll be able to do if I needed a different size. Every other option is just offering a refund but then needing to reorder the replacement product after. Which by then I assume the sales prices will be gone..

Just went in store to compare halo vs mercury. Mercury fit is standard while halo is 1 size larger than usual. Mercury has better stitching so ur fluff won't come out and it's more a slimmer fit and look. Material feels better in mercury too. Bought myself one. Warmth feels the same
got both mines today (mercury and halo), can confirm your observations and Mercury feels more premium
