  • It’s gotta be hard being this company when Heymix chargers seem to be exactly the same and cost less 😬 That said, competition is good. Take an upvote!

    • +12

That makes us sad when our products are compared with them. We work with factories of Baseus and use chipsets that Anker uses and ends up being compared to Heymix :'(

      • +7

        This seems like marketable info!

      • I'm someone who knows nothing about any of these brands and whether some are better than others What differentiates a 'good' 65W charger from a 'bad' one?

        • +3

A good GaN charger would use a GaN chipset from a reputable brand. Others will use CN GaN chipsets. Most important is SAA & RCM certification which adds an assurance that the charger is safe to use. Note that some companies will sell you as the "Plug SAA certified" or "Power cord SAA certified". These are illusions. The charger must be SAA & RCM certified.

          • @ibelievesyd: Thanks. What's your shipping time for website orders to Sydney compared to buying through Amazon?

          • @ibelievesyd: Do you know which components differ between the two?

      • factories of Baseus

        http://www.heincro.com/

      • What is your returns process?

I've returned my faire share of chargers back to Amazon - including Heymix and 'no name' brands.

Also, why are there no right-angle chargers? They all stick out of the wall to far, which is a problem when you have heavy-ish UCB-C cables sticking out of them.

        • Free returns within 30 days if faulty or DOA. We accept change of mind returns if unopened and in original retail condition, buyer to pay return costs. Free replacement within warranty period for manufacturing defects. You can contact [email protected] for returns or warranty claims.

We'll take your feedback on the chargers with vertical orientation for future chargers.

          • @ibelievesyd: Thanks!

Do you sell power cables that plug into the charger where the plug goes so you can use it like a 'desktop' charger?

    Hi OP,

whats the major difference between this and the Powerpod 66W GaN Charger? Apart from one being 65W and one being 66W?

    • +1

Same question - also what's the main difference between GaN and GaN2?
Seems like one is more of a square and the other is rectangle

      • GaN chipsets are now being optimised further by Navitas. GaN was 1st generation, GaN 2 second, now there is GaN 3 which is used in this Powastone 65W Charger. It is more about improving efficiency, optimized for high-frequency and soft-switching topologies

      • what's the main difference between GaN and GaN2?

GaN chargers are more efficient and can conduct higher voltages over time than silicone chargers. GaN2 is the latest generation of GaN charging technology and offers continued improvements in power transfer, heat dissipation, and charging speed.

    • +1 to the question. Noticed this new charger is slightly heavier (~150g vs. ~110g for the 66w)

      • Yes, due to the GaN chipset version upgrade. 66W is 110 without AU plug and 127g with AU plug.

    • +6

This one has USB-A output 60W compared to 36W for 66W charger,
Comes with a 100W Cable and fixed AU plug whereas 66W comes with changeable adapters but no cable
2 years warranty whereas 66W has 1 year

      • Thanks OP

      • I prefer the form factor of the Powerpod 66W GaN Charger - are you running any promotions for that product? I don't really need a USB-C cable, if that makes any difference. I will probably want two of the chargers.

        • Use same code for 66W and get for $50. Link

      • Does the 66w version come with the international adapters or only the au adapter?

        • +1

It has foldable US pin fixed and AU+EU+UK changeable adapters included.

  • Can you please provide the SAA approval number?

I cannot find any SAA certificates for "powastone" or "zyron".

  • Thanks, your explanations convinced me to buy 2.

    • Cheers mate. Look forward for your review after you use it :)

  • Will this charge the Nintendo Switch?

    • Yes mate, it can.

      • In docked mode ?

        • Haven't tested the 65W in dock mode but the 66W can

  • Will the 30W Minipod charge macbook pro? I know the charging speed will be very slow, just wondering whether it will lose charge over time?

    • +1

Minipod 30W we have tested it with Dell Inspiron 15 Ryzen 7 and Thinkpad 14. It may slow charge it. If it does, you can use it as a passive charger (overnight kind of) but not while using the macbook pro.

  • What's the difference in between minix 66w gan charge and this product keen to know cheers !

    https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005001843981630.html?gatewayA…

    • +2

      1) This one has USB-A output 60W compared to 36W output for 66W Minix/Zyron charger,
      2) Comes with a 100W Cable and fixed AU plug whereas 66W comes with changeable adapters but no cable
      3) Zyron Powastone 65W has 2 years Australian warranty based in Sydney. Not sure about MINIX 66W as couldn't find any warranty info on that link.
      4) Powastone 65W uses GaN3 chipset whereas 66W Minix/Zyron uses GaN1 chipset

      • Thanks for the clarification i brought one cheers !

        • Cheers. Look forward for your feedback :)

  • is the Powerpod 66W SAA and RCM certified? I prefer that form factor over this, (with interchangeable heads for travel)

    • It is SAA and RCM certified but not by us. A thrid party brand owns the rights.

      • thanks for confirming! great rep. Is the 100W USB C cable essential in being able to charge at max speeds?

        • +1

For laptops, you would need a 60W cable at least. It is sufficient for the 66W charger. If you are considering a 100W cable then we have the 2m cable on sale @$9.99 ($8.99 after coupon)

  • +5

Upvote because of the nice Associated rep!

Looking for a 100W+ GaN charger hopefully some bargain soon :)

    • +1

      Thank you :)
      The 10% OFF discount is storewide. You can go for 108W (90W Single USB-C) for $67.49 or 120W GaN2 (100W single USB-C with 100W cable) for $99

      • I'll wait for 120w to drop in price I think

  • I just wish it didn't look like an actual brick sticking out of the wall.

    • get the powerpod for $50

      • GaN1 chipset :-(

        • to me the only downside is the USBA is capped at 36W vs 60W on the Gan3 one. Which isn't a big deal imo

  • @ibelievesyd Have you discontinued the slim powerbank or is it just unavailable at the moment?

    • +1

We haven't discontinued mate. 10000mAh 10% coupon can be used.

      • Copy that, thanks!

  • +9

Rep speaking clear English, answering questions directly and appreciatively, very technically, plus general discount are the reason I purchased just then. Just wish more of the tech reps could be like this.
    Cheers mate!

    • +2

      Thanks mate! Cheers :)

    • +2

That's Zyron for ya! They've been super responsive to questions and feedback since they first came on the scene and their products are tight, so I've got mad respect for any business that operates with customers at the forefront of their mind.

  • +1

Hi mate. Looks like a solid product. Does this support Samsung's PPS Fast Charging?

    • +1

Ignore that. It does indeed. Cheers.

  • Thanks, I can finally charge my MacBook and iPhone without changing chargers every time

  • Damn, no superfast charging compat. Damn you samsung!

    • +1

It supports 25W Samsung Fast Charging mate.

      • Oh shit! Thanks mate for the quick answer.

    • Have you bought one ? Does it support superfast charging ?

  • I wanted something small and compact to chuck in the lappy bag but poor reviews of no-name GaN chargers really put me off.

I was tempted by the Dell 65W USB-C adapter for roughly the same price (delivered) @ Mwave but the rep here did a good job of convincing me to give them a crack. Responsive and informative! Thank you @ibelievesyd

    • You're welcome. You'll not be disappointed :)

  • Bought powerpod 66w from Zyron not long ago when it was on sale. Really impressed with the design and build quality. Powerpod came with plugs which would be super convenient for me when traveling to other countries

    • Have just looked at the site. Looks like the adapter/plug set is now being sold separately or I bought the bundle before.

      • 1 set of 3 plugs are sold with the 66W charger. We had some customers requesting additional plugs as they had damaged/lost. So we have brought in a few spare units.

  • Any chance of getting black ones in the future? not a fan of white

    • +1

Feedback noted mate. We'll look to add black versions in near future.

  • Hi Op,
    I have two questions:
    1. Does this come with travel adaptor or anything like that so I can use it when traveling abroad?
    2. Would it cause any issues if I use this to charge a MacPro 16"? (Other than the extended charging time)
    Thanks.

      1. Powastone 65 has a fixed AU plug. If you are looking for changeable plugs then please look at Powerpod 66W GaN
      2. No issues at all. Just extended charging time.
  • +1

Dont need one but bought one due to super-responsive / super-informative Rep.

    • Thanks mate :)

  • Does the plug fit easily in recessed sockets like on a Belkin powerboard or an extension cable?

    • The size is 36x38mm whereas I reckon the dia of an extension cable would be 40mm so shouldn't be a problem

      • Thanks! Ordered :-)

      • +1

65W charger arrived today! That was fast.

It fits easily in my Belkin powerboard. It's just a bit thicker and longer than my Pixel charger.

I'll try to use it to replace:
        - 12V 5A plug pack with a high pitched whine for my Vapcell S4 Plus battery charger (using a 12V PD USB-C to DC adapter).
        - Chinese powerboard with US sockets and an XTAR QC3 USB-C 12V 1.5A US charger for my XTAR VC8 battery charger.

The 60W device that I ordered from AE around the same time still hasn't shipped despite the seller confirming that stock is in Australia. I guess it's being forwarded from China with a larger delivery and then I'll get a tracking number when it's sent within Australia. 😂

        It's easier buying from Amazon.

        • +1

Cheers mate. Your review on Amazon will be really helpful for other buyers and us as well :)

        • which model from aliexpress did you buy?

          • +1

            @abadacus: I bought a MiniWare MHP30 from AE

            • @Tim Mc: MINIWARE MHP30 Mini Hot Plate Preheater? lol

              • @abadacus: Yeah. That's the one!

The USB-C PD 60W supply that they include in a MHP30 kit has a US or EU plug but no AU.

So I ordered the MHP30 on it's own and ordered this Zyron 65W GaN3 charger. I'll use it for swapping LEDs on MCPCBs.

  • Is the 66W GaN3 or just the 65W?

    • +1

      Just the 65W is GaN3. 66W is GaN1

      • Will there be any more in stock?

        • +1

Mate unfortunately the deal stock is sold out. We only have a few stock left on Amazon at a higher price. More stock at similar price will be available next month.

          • @ibelievesyd: I dont suppose the first time subscriber @10% off is stackable? :)

            • @X3: Only 1 coupon at a time mate :) Not stackable

              • @ibelievesyd: Ah ok, thanks for the info

Now pls do deals that render code stacking a moot point :)

          • @ibelievesyd: I missed the deal.
"Similar price next month" <<< does this mean around the $45 mark?
            Thanks
