  • Seems to only come with 1 x 3d glasses and 1 game vs the 2 glasses and 2 games (just saiyan)

    • +9

If you wanna pay $330 for an extra pair of glasses and a game, go ahead…

      • +1

well said. Although I would add warranty to the mix as well.

      • When a 23" 3D LED monitor with two sets of glasses sets you back $178.99 locally, it seems a few $$ more (+$135) to go Sony.

        • +1

Difference is the ability to play 2 players on the same screen in full in 2D via using the technology of 3D to create 2 distinct images for each glass pair, allowing both players to play at the same time with a full screen without the possibility of cheating.

Dunno if its worth the money though, but thats what the premium is.

        • Agreed that is a notable feature, however will cost probably another $99 for another set of glasses.

        • Sadly, there are not enough games that support the feature to be of value to majority of users:(

        • The Extra Glasses on Amazon posted on here by edotherm can only be shipped to the United States and does not ship to Australia

    • +5

buy two sets, then you get one extra monitor

      • +1

if I get more than a handful of negs, im blaming you:p

      • -4

You will get an extra set of glasses and a Full HD 42" 3D LCD TV for $84 more.

Wouldn't this run on different power?

    • probably.

Wouldn't this run on different power?

      Yes. The power of love!

Huey Lewis can supply it for you! :p

    • +7

Yeah, this is the coal powered version

  • I would pay a little more for a 3D TV instead, there was another deal on OZB recently…dicksmith or some other generic brands for around the same price.

  • +1

I still plus'd ya couz as this is a bargain for those who want it

  • http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors/sony-playstation-3d-dis… fairly poorly reviewed. Only compatible with 4 games. Not getting my dollars.

    • +1

4 games? That must be referring to the whole anti-split screen multiplayer thingo.
There are plenty of games that support 3D. For instance, ALL remastered PS2 games are playable in 3D I believe.
Wikipedia has a list of 48 games that support 3D on the PS3.

      • -5

??? PS2 games arnt even playable on all but the first model of the PS3!

Also did this TV ever get release in Aus? I still like the Sony Bravia with built in PS2 lol (KDL-22PX300).

        • There are PS2 games on PSN, hence the remastered part ;)

        • yes the tv has been released in australia, you wont get such a good price though, which was the reference to the mighty ape post

      • Not all unfortunately. The first God of War collection isn't :( Also the stream of 3D enabled games seems to be drying up, with none having been released this year yet. PC is by far the superior platform for 3D gaming, with just about any direct x game able to be played in 3D

        • the GOW collection, i plan to play on using my not-yet-arrived brand new PSV.

      • Those PS2 games on PSN aren't remastered, but I knew what you meant anyway.

  • Maybe Uk have a version we trust more?

    • for double the price though.

  • Saw the local released version at Harvey Norman yesterday for about $650 or there abouts. Thats why I ended up with 2 of the LG 32" TV's. 3d would be Interesting though but not value for that over $600.

    • +1

Saw this today at my local hardly normal for $498

  • Can you use this as a normal 2D monitor for a PC through the second HFMI input?
It could be a nice pretty display to combine PC and PS3 on one desk.
Sorry for not researching myself, information seems fairly scarce.

    • I think you can, it can be used as a 1080p monitor as well through HDMI, that's why it has two hdmi input.

  • Doesn't even ship with a remote…
Isn't that a pretty ridiculous thing to not bundle with a TV?

    • +1

how far away are you sitting from a 24" display that a remote is essential?

    • It's more of a display (ie monitor) I think. At least that seems to be their justification.

    • +2

its not a TV its a display panel like a computer monitor which dont come with remotes anyway

      • +1

But unlike a typical PC monitor, it has speakers that can only be adjusted via the unit. Pretty irritating to reach around the back of the screen midgame to change the volume. No matter!

  • Good price I guess, but I thought it was a 32" screen, shame its only 24" :(
Plus you have pay extra for the remote? (I assume the same as the PS3 one)

  • This is a nice deal, wanted to buy this for my brother when it came out, but the 500$ price tag was too much. Now it looks quite a good price.

  • +1

Yeah good deal but really just for the split game function as its an upgrade for those who game on pc monitors but down grade for those who game on big screen hdtv.

  • Hmmm… Definitely considering even though I don't need it.
Is this a permanent price drop in the US? Are we likely to see a corresponding drop in the AU Stock?

    • The Sony Store sells it for the same price, though I'm not sure if they will ship to AU.

I don't know if the TV released in AU. I haven't seen it or heard about it.

  • I remember this TV was made for the PS3. Problem is, at 24" it's too small for a TV, too big for my desk. It will fit on my desk, but I don't want my PS3 on my desk.

Is the TV multi voltage? And how many HDMI ports? If it's less than 4 it's not adequate for a TV.

    EDIT: 2 HDMI, 1 component

I could not find the voltage information anywhere. I don't think I will risk it.

    • nvm

  • +1

    Power requirement: AC 100 V - 240V (50/60Hz)
Power consumption: 60W, 0.6A (in use), 0.2W (standby), 7W or less (when quick start feature is ON)

    Taken from: http://www.amazon.com/Whats-acceptable-input-voltage-this/fo…

So it seems like it is compatible with aus power xD
(although I can't seem to offically confirm it)

  • +1

    Wait. This is a monitor?

    • Wow, you're right, it is.
Never knew that. There's no TV tuner indeed.

      • Well I had idea there were any type of screen under the Playstation brand.
