Samsung/CSOT panel apparently which is potentially good, but I'm not seeing any available measurements and this is priced in the same region as the Dell S3422DWG, so I'd recommend sticking with the Dell option for the time being.

If only usb-c versions of a 34/35” ultrawide would hit this price point

      • Thanks for sharing. I’m in the market for one. How does this compare to the Dell U3421?

        • +2

I got this one for about $640 when on sale from futu_online eBay store and I'm very happy with it. I previously had a Kogan 34 inch curved ultrawide but returned it because the USB-C connection couldn't push the full 4K. Curvature isn't very high, but neither is the Dell U3421. Not sure how else it compares to the Dell, but the price isn't comparable either.

  • Can anyone tell me how this compares to the Xiaomi Mi Curved Gaming Monitor? Sorry for the noob question…

This is better. 160Hz and LG panels would be more premium given their reputation. But you are paying more here.

I have both monitors, can't tell the difference playing games, the Xiaomi is of better value.

interesting, first time seeing a 160 Hz panel as opposed to 165 Hz. Likely the same panel as this Kogan, but with better support from LG/JBHiFi?

Also, can't seem to find the curvature anywhere?

  • Is this VA or IPS?

    • from the lg site VA

      • Which one is better though ? VA or IPS ? Im a noob in this kind of panels debate

        • +1

IPS has better more accurate colours, viewing angles and tend to be flat. VA has better black levels and hence contrast, but may have smearing on dark things when they move.

          • +1

@akaakmdm: TV people prefer VA and monitor people prefer IPS

          • @akaakmdm: if I main purpose is watching movies, youtube videos, excel and SQL - which panel should i be going for?

            • +1

@wmxc: Probably VA. As the only time I felt I was at a disadvantage while using va was dark level smearing during games. Only exception is the Odyssey.

  • I brought one yesterday from JB Hifi Coomera, Very nice display, not too bright and does have good refresh rate 165, sound is good from the internal speakers, Didnt have many instock 1 only at the store (Coomera) i brought it from. Good luck.

    • so it's actually capable of 165hz, not just 160hz as advertised?

  • My mate and I have been eyeing this for the past month, just bought the Prism+ XQ340 the other day! I wake up and I see this deal now godamn hahaha

  • I have the Xiaomi 34 and this one, but to be honest, I can't see any difference playing games, the Xiaomi one is of better value.

  • Any reason there's no rtings review on this monitor? Hard to tell how it compares to some of the other options at the same price point like the Dell S3422DWG.
