Totally great speaker, do yourself a favour and go get the EQ settings from Alan Ross on YouTube for the speaker it makes a difference.

    • Totally great speaker

      But terrible anchors.

      • Tough crowd!

  • Somehow got this model:

Anker Soundcore Boost Bluetooth Speaker with Well-Balanced Sound, BassUp, 12H Playtime, USB-C, IPX7 Waterproof, Wireless Speaker with Customizable EQ
for only $65 shipped @ Amazon last year.

I dunno if it's better or worse, but at $65 it felt a good deal.
I'll say the speaker is a bit 'bassy' but that's to be expected.

    • It's definitely not as good as the Motion+ (a speaker that goes for AUD ~$170 normally) but the Boost is Brent to be OK for the price.

Motion+ was the flagship until the Motion Boom came along!

      Great sounding speaker

I've had a pair of these speakers since mid 2020, when I got them for $96 AUD per unit via some mad stacking of Aliexpress discounts. The sound quality is excellent and the volume they can reach is considerable. They are tough little units that can take a beating - I accidentally left one on the roof of my car long enough to throw it onto the road when pulling away and other than a couple of dents and scratches on the mesh, it still works as good as it ever did. Although battery life has deteriorated over time, a full charge will still see you through the majority of the day, and my speakers have seen near daily use for almost 2 years now. "Bass Up" Mode will leave you in no doubt that Bass Up mode is on, when it's on.

However, there are some quirks. The Power button is not always responsive. This isn't major, just annoying when you are holding it down to turn the speaker off, and the speaker isn't turning off. Releasing and reapplying the button a 2nd time will usually work, just a little perplexing.

The most frustrating quirk however is the pairing of 2 speakers into a Stereo pair. This works by pairing one Speaker to your phone, and then a longer press of the bluetooth button on each speaker will have them search for one another and sync up. Once paired, if turned on together they will automatically find eachother again which is nice. However, I frequently experience audio interruptions in Stereo pair, where one speaker will drop out for 2-8 seconds at a time quite regularly. This is of course incredibly noticeable as the direction and volume is affected. Although I haven't checked in a while to see if this has been resolved at all, I know that many people experience this issue, read more here: http://community.anker.com/t/soundcore-motion-issues-with-st…

Yup, i single click the power button and then hold down - seems to work.

      Great speaker, highly recommended.

  • I went for the Motion Boom instead and it goes pretty hard

  • I can almost never find the power button without looking although I know where it is.

  • Great speakers. Very happy with my 2.

Also have 2, when paired together they sound awesome.

  • Mine has a great sound, more detailed than my JBL Charge 4.
However I find the Bluetooth performance is not very good. It will drop out several times per minute when placed somewhere the JBL is rock solid.

  • These are my daily speakers at home. I have a pair of these.

Anyone know how these speakers' sound quality and features compare vs UE Megaboom 3?
(Excluding differences in price and battery life for now)
