Same chasis as last year’s m15 which had 125w 3080, this years wont be much higher given the subpar thermal headroom-the same small 240w brick as last year also proves this.

Not recommended, m15 is now AW’s ‘budget’ lineup and you are getting the same mobo and cooling solution as the dell g15- only difference being exterior chasis and the specs. Features are cut down from 10th gen machines like vapor chamber and overall build quality is worse.

    • agreed. Alienware isn't what it used to be.

well, Alienware X models are still good, but M is not great by any stretch

      • Yep, the x17 lineup is great, but they are also hella expensive.

Can't really say the same for the x15 and x14 however, both seem to give up too much for 'portability'-especially in performance, upgradability and ports-but yet they arent more portable compared to their competitors. The x15 have all ram soldered and the x14…its heavier, larger, have worse gpu wattage and comes with a worse panel than its any of its competitors.

        • yeah x14 is a flop in my opinion. but who knows maybe there's market for tiny underpowered gaming lappies?

not my market, as I just got a 17 incher again haha

I am not familiar with this laptop but I found this on their website. It looks it is 170W RTX 3080Ti

Supreme Performance: Gain the edge you need with updated Alienware Cryo-tech™ cooling technology that introduces newly engineered fans that contain over twice as many blades* and are 37.5% thinner than the previous generation. Prioritized for performance, the dual fan design pulls in cool air from the top and bottom vents while pushing it out the left, right, and rear vents to ensure exceptional game play. For configurations that include NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3070 Ti or RTX™ 3080 Ti graphics, the exclusive Element 31 gallium-silicone thermal interface material allows you to game faster for longer periods of time by pulling heat away from the processor. These forces combine to send up to 170W max Thermal Design Power (TDP) to updated processors and NVIDIA® graphics, all within a 15" form factor.

        I think you're confusing TDP and TGP…

170W TDP so with 45W processor it makes sense that its 125W TGP…

          You are right. Thanks mate.

  • You can also have a look in Dell outlet https://www.dell.com/en-au/outlet/shop/laptops-tablets?refin…, I have bought some from there really good with warranty and all stuff also important you save a lot of money.

  • No USB power?

  • 3070 Ti 16GB is even cheaper… Less than $3100…

    • pretty sure it have 8gb vram mate

      • i wasn't clear but i was referring to the RAM, not VRAM… the 3080 mentioned above has 32GB…

        • ah gotcha.

32gb ram might be actually worth it though, ddr5 ram is very expensive and I actually dont think any shop sells ddr5 sodimm here in australia yet

Regardless of the cpu/gpu the Alienware command centre takes way too long to load! 🙈

  • There is no much review for M15 R7 12 gen on the Internet. This is prob the best one I can find so far

    https://anz.alienwarearena.com/ucf/show/2161918/boards/gamin…

    The highlight:

My sample’s GeForce RTX 3080 Ti regularly reached its 125W limit, and then used NVIDIA’s Dynamic Boost 2.0 technology to reallocate an extra 15W from the CPU. That extra power translates to higher GPU frequencies, which drive faster frame rates.

  • is it OLED anyone know how many nits?
