Was after a level and found this one which I thought was a good deal. Currently Bunnings are selling it in the base package for $219, and in the Amazon pack you get a bracket and better case etc.

Description
The Bosch UniversalLevel 360 cross line laser has a 360° horizontal line providing a precise and constant height reference across several walls in a room. The additional vertical laser line provides a laser cross for accurate and fast alignment of objects. Thanks to green laser technology the UniversalLevel 360 delivers up to 4x better visibility than devices with red laser lines. The user-friendly interface includes a sliding on/off switch and a two-button keypad to allow for one-handed control of the line laser. The laser level can self-level up to ± 4° or be put into slope mode to create diagonal lines and is highly accurate, delivering precise results within ± 0.4 mm/m of accuracy.

360° Application

  • Installing raised floors, lowered ceilings, electrical sockets, and curtain rails at same height

  • Aligning furniture at the same height like in a bathroom or kitchen

Laser Cross Application

I have this from bunnings. It works well would buy again.

    • What's the daytime visibility like e.g. in a brightly lit room? I've got a green line DeWalt and its practically useless in daylight, despite green supposedly being more visible.

      • +2

Daytime visibility indoors is ok, as long as the throw isn't far. Outdoors it's non existent. If I have work outside I use it in the night.

        • Yep its crap outside during the day. Wait till evening and its brilliant outside.

      • I have a DeWalt which throws green light, it's practially useless if there is bright light indoors, you can see a very feeble line.Outside it basically a right off!

Bosch Red laser which was given to me as a gift 3yrs had never used it,decided to it give it a go. I was actually amazed to see, the red laser was visible even in the brightly lit indoor. I had DeWalt and Bosch next to each other, I hadly could see DeWalt Green Laser on the wall, Bosch Red Laser was bright and clearly visible.
Outdoors Bosch Led Laser you coudn't see it from far(whlist standing at the tripod)but a feet from the wall it was visible to get the job done. DeWalt green laser was not even visbile on the wall.
I don't get why most companies are phasing out red laser and introducing green lasers.

pity it's not 3 line, used all 3 when building last time and it was fantastic… until the tiler stole it.

    • -1

      the tiler

so you know exactly who stole yours?

    • how many lines is the next level up?

      • +5

Infinite line though I'd probably just stick with a 3 line max if I wanted to keep things straight…

        • Link is taking me to a globe..

          • @iDroid: Yep… sorry iDroid it was a terrible joke - the globe casts light in infinite directions.

Thanks OP was after one of these

    • +6

Guess it's time to level up?

  • Does anyone know if the laser would be bright enough to use outside? All of the photos seem to show internal use only.

    • At a guess I'd say probably not on a bright day. But realistically you're not paying $600 either. Also depends on the surface you use it in etc.

    • +1

No chance, the throw is like 1m if that. I use mine which is a green laser in the night.

For day time use you can purchase a laser detector which is used for outdoor use. But it's only one point. If you wanted to use this for 360° outdoors you would be out of luck. The amount of mW needed for daytime running would be so risky if you ever got it in an unprotected eye, and I doubt something like that would even be sold to the general public.

    • Doubt it at this price point

  • Thanks looks like a great price. Hopefully it’s still up when I get the chance to get prime and purchase later this morning.

    • Edit. Prime not required. Thanks!!!

Amazing price. Still not sure i can justify it as a DIYer. Though the stud finder from a few weeks ago has already been used a couple of times.

  • +1

Seems like a good price, bought one and wishing for the best

    Thanks OP.
Hopefully this will get me out of trouble. Always seem to be using a mates, so about time I got one I think..

  • 0.4mm/m accuracy isn't particularly accurate

I would personally purchase one of the lasertec ones from bunnings which are +/- 2mm @ 10m and are fairly cheap / well built.

Recommended for maritime use on a warship? Asking for a friend …

I bought a Huepar Green Laser Level for $47
    https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0UeR6g

Can mount it etc. Took about 3 weeks to get here.

Also bought this laser measure, the red laser is difficult to see outside during the day, should've gotten green. Internal use is fine during the day. Paid $56. Pretty cool. USB C too if using rechargables, I just stuck AA's in em as I've bought the Costco and Amazon deals and wont need batteries for years.

Another alternative for local stock if you don't need 360 horizontal is the Firecore F113-XG for $59.99 (and regularly goes on sale for $50.99)

I ended up buying after I missed the Bosch Quigo on sale and been happy with it.

    • That is a good price, maybe I should of got it instead. So does it only do the one wall at a time, whereas the bosch can go around the whole room? Not really thinking of a reason I need 360… For putting up walls it would be handy at least.

      • +1

I'd probably only use a 360 laser outdoors for levelling with a laser sensor on the other end in which case this Bosch is not the tool for the job anyway.

For the small amount of time you might need to get the same level on other walls in the room, just mark one end and reposition the laser for the next wall.

The horizontal laser spread if the Firefore is actually pretty wide and can cover most of 3 walls if the room isn't too large. Just don't know how accurate it would be on the far sides.

    • Thanks. Ended up getting this as all I'm looking to do is hang wallpaper, mirror, frames etc

      • Unless if you are making even line/s for frames, mirrors.

        • +1

want to put a few words as to why it's useless for the most basic needs?

    • Speaking of, is $50.99 again. Lightning sale for another 3 hours as of writing this.

  • This one I bought and didn't like it. I returned and got full refund from Bunnings.

I bought DeWalt DCE089D1G-XE 12V Li-ion Cordless 3 x 360° Green Beam Line Laser Level from Sydney Tools.
    https://sydneytools.com.au/product/dewalt-dce089d1gxe-12v-li…

Also I own this Bosch single dot and line red laser as well. https://www.bunnings.com.au/bosch-pll-1-p-line-and-dot-laser…

    • $133 vs $600+… Has to be similar right?

      • Yep. I thought Bosch laser at price range between $130 to $200 would be good for my handyman business but it is NOT. My mate as tradie told me, if you want good, better to pay more than buying DIY laser.

    • When do you use the single dot instead?

      • +1

To get rid neighbour's cats off my property.

        • Haha nice.

      • red dot is to show customer where the mark will be rather than pointing my fat finger at it.

Red line is where I can find my stuff in dark room by shaking the laser in the darkroom.

  • +1

Well that should keep you on the straight and narrow….

  • I have bought a few laser levels over the years and found them next to useless compared with water in a tube. I always wanted what the grano guys had where they magically moved a staff up and down and it beeped when at the right level.

    • Water in a tube is good for like pergola posts but sometimes its easier to just use a laser, or a piece of timber, or a bottle of water, or a spirit level

    • yep, agree!
Water level is seriously under rated
My laser level is useless outside
      Water level for the win!

  • +1

Does it come with a shark mount?

    • No, this one only fits small, ill-tempered mutated Sea Bass.

You need the Blue one to fit on the Sharks

  • +1

Bosch Atino Line Laser might be more suitable for anyone looking to buy this for small diy eg; picture hanging etc. Available from Amazon Au, shipped from Amazon UK for $86.38

  • Sorry wrong topic, what is the best stud finder that actually works?

    • These are good compared to others on the market but honestly sometimes you're better off just tapping on the wall.

      https://www.bunnings.com.au/franklin-prosensor-t13-professio…

    • Franklin Sensor but does not detect electrical wires as well.

Youl would be better off to buy Franklin Sensor (best with level spirit) and stud finder with wire detector.

  • Thanks, I've been looking for one of these for a while. Seems like a great price and they work well enough inside, or outside in the evenings.

    • What do you need to use it for outdoor evenings?

  • Didn't really need one… but eventually thought of a use and… now one is on it's way.

  • Eyyy, mine came today.
