PORTING YOUR OWN EXISTING NUMBER TO BOOST:
You can request porting your own number to Boost when activating the SIM. Before porting number, contact your current service provider to confirm personal details. Make sure your Name and Date of Birth registered with the number are 100% correct including spaces. Ask to update your details if anything is incorrect. Once confirmed, provide the exact same details to Boost to initiate the porting. Some carriers will send you a SMS to authorise the porting request, so make sure the current SIM is inserted until the service is disconnected. Telstra users need to contact Boost first before porting their number.

I am in a world of pain trying to port from voda. Word of warning. I have been on boost before so I'm not sure why the issues.

Boost has the worst customer service IMO. Rude and incompetent. Those saving come at a cost if you need assistance. It took 3 weeks to get a number ported.

    • F me. Is that what I should expect? What happened, did you just let it run or did you chase up?

The guy is just making up stories just to get me off the phone now.

Just chat with them online the customer service is top notch it’s a world of difference compared to calling them . Took 5min to port my number to boost.

        • Tried the chat, same result.

        • +1

Agreed with this. Their online customer service is top notch!

Put in a complaint. They will get back to you with a person who can actually action the request. Those call centre workers are trash.

    • Get the ombudsman involved. They did it really quick for me for us. My mum and i ported to boost within 5 minutes while my dad was 2 weeks and partner was 3 weeks to port over from boost. It was trash waiting for boost customer services phonecall after phonecall. It was really a headfvck.

I have been with boost for some years. They can be frustrating to contact but I have rarely had to. Great price for what you get.

  • eSim, eSim. I can't wait, so I bought $150 Woolis SIM. I hope can get eSim on boost next year.

    • +1

But Woolies doesn't have international calling with $150 plan :(

      • 10% off woolis shopping, almost cover $150 per year for me.

        • -1

True but I already have the car insurance with Woolies :) That covers my 10% off.

  • OP - If I get the Telstra $300 plan for mobile, can I activate $5 eSim for apple watch?

    • +1

      Hi,
Please talk to Telstra customer service for your inquiry.
      Kind regards
      Zain

Hey Boost, I have bought the sim card so that I could call China which you have now canceled that feature. Could I get a refund?

your query will end up in your username here!

    Hi OP,

That 1200 minutes to standard numbers to 30 selected destinations, is that per month or per year? Thanks…

    • -5

      Hi,
You will get 1200 minutes per month for the 30 selected destinations.
      Regards

incorrect - 1200 minutes per YEAR. you can use it however you like (within a month/two or all 12).

      • misinformation. It's 1200 mins per year!

        • Hi,
          Sorry, that's right.
          Meant to say per year.
          Thanks

point number 2 can be negotiable if you ask nicely - i just ported my existing boost number to one of these new sims. It just took some waiting - they activate the new sim with a new number (took me about 10 hours after the first chat, can be up to 24 hours), then they ask us to contact (chat) them again to change the new number to existing boost number we have. They give you a reference number so you don't have to repeat everything - they put comments on your profile with that reference of what's done so far.
Pretty seamless if you do it with enough time before your existing plan expires. Mine was to expire midnight tonight and my app refreshed immediately to reflect new pre-paid plan with the same mobile number.

  • What does the Sim expiry date mean? It's not going to expire within the 12 month recharge is it?

    • +1

The expiry is the time you have to activate the sim. I gas one delivered today that expires in 14 months

      • Sweet, thanks!

  • Waiting on a Telstra pre-paid 6-month deal …!!

  • Anything for existing customers?

  • Yup, can confirm, Boost Chat-Support is fantastic. I received the new sim in the mail quickly. The port-in process online failed. I started chatting to a a boost representative and was registered within 10 minutes.

  • Looks like boost online gives you a $20 refund on a $200 recharge, and the same 40gb bonus for a total of 140gb. Not as good as $152 of course, but might be easier if you don't want to leave your couch.
