[eBay Plus] Electrolux Pure C9 Animal - $324.57 Delivered @ Bing Lee eBay

390
PLSMAR7

Credit to IslandBreeze for this deal on the C9 Origin which got me searching

For those seeking the turbo head and "Ergo" handle version of the Electrolux C9, you can get it on Bing Lee's eBay site for $349 plus $10 delivery. But if you're eBay plus and use the code TSHG20, it's $279.20 PLSMAR7 is $324.57 with free delivery! $4.99 to sign up to eBay Plus if you aren't already a member.

This unit has an 82% rating from Choice (Recommended), ranking it third among all barrel vacuums tested (1 and 2 spots are $1200+ retail). It's bagless, and Choice lists its cons as:

• The bin is easy to remove, but messy to empty.
• The bin can be removed by accident when picking the unit up.

Cracking deal at ~$330 now insane at $279

Update 3: we're back to only 7% off code, but it's still fantastic value at that price. $400+ elsewhere

Hey TimR31, cracker deal mate, hope the unit goes well!

    • +1

Cheers, thanks for posting the original deal!

Recommended for pet hair and carpet? The Dreame v10 performs poorly in this regard, but I think that is to be expected.

    • +1

Have seen a couple of customer reviews that suggest it doesn't, but I always take those with a grain of salt.

Choice rates the pet hair removal at 100% on their scale (though a few vacuums in the test achieve this, 8 out of 45, just for some context)

    • Just wanted to update and say it has done a great job on pet hair for our house, but we've only got one dog with short-medium length hair. With the turbo head it's clearly getting out dirt/hair that my previous vacuum never touched

  • +1

Thanks. Great price. Bought one :) We have an old electrolux animal that lasted over 8 years. Starting to go slowly, but they were great back in the day. Hoping this is the same!

    • Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.

  • I have cats and a dog. I'm yet to find a bagless vacuum that is easy to empty with all the animal hair. I would buy this in a second if it could.

  • I'm still rocking an older AEG ultra active from 2011 I think. It's still workout but I think it might be on the way out, it makes an unusual noise occasionally.
Not sure if I should jump on this deal or wait it out.

      jump on it!

Hi OP - are you able to share the Choice reviews for this one VS a few Miele one (budget/medium/high)? Both bagged & bagless if you can, thanks!

    • +1

I love Choice and really value the work they do. Happy to throw up some of the individual scores or whatever, but best to subscribe yourself if you want comparisons/detail

      • Fair enough - if you can throw some numbers up of your C9 Animal vs Miele Compact C3 vs Miele Blizzard CX1, that'll still help heaps!! Cheers :)

        • +2

          C9 Animal = 82% (100% pet hair),

          Compact C3 doesn't exist, either Complete C3 Cat & Dog 79% (90% pet hair) or Compact C2 Powerline 76% (pet hair 70%)

          Bliz CX1 Excellence 75% (90% pet hair), or Bliz CX1 Cat & Dog 74% (90% pet hair)

@TimR31: You are amazing good sir!

Spent over an hour reading reviews & your post on C9 Animal - I am convinced! Thank you

  • Can anyone compare to the normal Dreame V12 that I just bought?

  • +1

Thanks OP, was looking for something similar, just in time

  • +1

I have the standard version (non animal version) and I think it is great. When buying I compared it to the equivalent Dyson canister vacuum cleaner and in my opinion found this had overall better suction and wasn't as noisy.
The bin is a little messy to empty, but not sure how people would remove the bin when picking up (only if not using the handle perhaps).

  • Wish this was the Dog and Cat Blizzard CX-1, but at near $700 always a dog of deal, pricewise.

    • Can't speak to how your usage will match Choice's test methodology, but the C9 Animal comfortably outperforms the CX-1 Cat and Dog by their metrics. Has a more powerful motor too, and a HEPA filter.

Big weakness for Electrolux vs Miele is reliability. Overall Miele is very well regarded on this front (and with my own 8 year old Miele that the C9 will replace, I can attest to that)

  • +1

    Thanks OP, bought one.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Came down to $310 with discounted gift cards. Is there a motorised head for this? I assume just the 'turbo nozzle' head is available.

    • Yeah I can't see any motorised head available for this one

      • +1

Hopefully it’s similar to the Miele C3 in terms of power and useability. I’ve heard so many people on Ozb saying how good bagged vacuum cleaners are, especially the C3, but they’re so expensive right now.

        • This is referred to as the Power Head.

Unfortunately the C9 Animal doesn't come with one, only a Turbo Head.

    • Well the instructions indicate there is a motorised head compatible with the C9 out there somewhere, but doesn't seem to be offered in Australia

  • +1

Missed this one as I didn't pull the trigger early enough. Seems to be a decent vac from what I've seen, the fact it's bagless seems like a pro (although I've read bagged vacuums have better suction?) and a HEPA filter is a must for me personally.

Grabbed one from Harvey Norman (sorry for the dirty language, but I'm desperate for a vacuum atm) for $332.50 pickup using 5% discount from RewardGateway (employee discount program). Regular price at HN seems to be $599 so not a bad price! Bing Lee and TGG seem to be OOS online.

Hopefully this proves to be a good investment, Electrolux reliability seems a bit hit and miss?

    • +1

Yeah I guess we'll see on the reliability. For $330, if I get 5 years out of it I'm happy. Hopefully battery technology will have advanced enough by then that the corded vac is a thing of the past

      • +1

5 years sounds ok, for me I’d want at least 10 haha. Hopefully taking care of this and cleaning the filters somewhat regularly helps.

I’m not really a fan of stick vacuums. They just aren’t adequate to vacuum a whole house unless you recharge it multiple times and are more disposable IMO. To do serious vacuuming I think a corded vac will be needed for the next couple of decades anyway.

        • You're most likely right, but I've got my fingers crossed for some sort of solid-state battery revolution (although tbh I don't really know if that's even applicable to stuff the size of vacuums!) We'll see I guess!

        • +TimR31. You guys gonna use genuine Electrolux filters or just go with some Aliexpress cheapies?

          • +1

@TheOneWhoKnocks: I’d probably go genuine Electrolux, unless I can find cheap ones that work exactly the same as I want the exhausted air to be filtered properly.

Replacing once a year with regular cleaning would probably do me I think? Not sure.

          • @TheOneWhoKnocks: Haven't even thought about it tbh! Will check out prices and decide closer to when the replacing needs to happen. Probably give the cheap ones a go though, if the price difference is big

  • +1

Well mine arrived on Monday, got time to vacuum today and am thoroughly impressed. So many clever innovations compared to my old Miele, more comfortable to use, quieter, bagless canister is the right size for my small-ish townhouse with 50/50 carpet/hardwood, cord is twice the length of my old one, many good things I'm forgetting.

Downsides are it's heavier, not as easy to transport up and down stairs, mostly due to the handle for lifting when it's vertical being a bit inadequate. Pretty minor stuff really.

If it says alive for 5+ years, might be one of my best all time purchases

  • +1

    It's back in stock!

    • +1

Brilliant! It's also popping up the coupon code TSHG20 to get 20% off!? Not sure if that's universal, but that's crazy good if so

      • Sigh… 😑

        • Yeah I know. Still a great deal at $350 I think. Has yours arrived yet?

          • +1

@TimR31: ETA is Monday. Would've liked the extra $20 discount but you can never predict these things aye.

  • Would this be a better choice over c9 origin if you don't have any pets or its an overkill?

    • +1

I think at this price it's not an overkill. The turbo head is great at getting stubborn stuff out of carpet, and the Ergo handle is very nice to use
