  • Hows this compare to JBL flip 5 or ue boom 3 ?

    • +1

I got this a year ago and been around the other JBL and UE options before. Prefer this and at this price it's cheaper than both.Big battery, USB C, water proof, good volume, it ticks all the right boxes.
They're less common here because they didn't make it here unless shipped from US, but on audio forums it's often recommend as one of the better options in it's price range.
Main thing to note is compared to the other options that blast music all around, these fire one way only, so where you put it matters. So corner of the room instead of the middle.
This is a bonus for me because you can piss less people off at the beach.

Can only compare to my Charge 4. I feel it's a more detailed sound, being stereo it actually produces a sound stage. Only downside for me is the Bluetooth reception is noticeably worse.

  • Hows this compare to BW AS2?

  • Ultra-wide frequency range stretches from 50 Hz to 40 kHz

Where's the lower end extension? Doesn't seem ultra wide to me

    • +1

Battery operated and you can pick it up with one hand. It's not exactly a sub-woofer!

  • Isn't this normal price?
Bit of a fake RRP at 180 - has been 110 before on Amazon

    • I got it for ~$114 about a year ago and was watching prices for a while. sales would go from usually $120-$140 with $180 definitely being the constant RRP with no dodginess.
Considering IMO it beats some of those UE/JBL ~$200 range speakers, at this price it's great

I got one in the last deal for $123…. It is quite phenomenal.
I was upgrading from a Braven I purchased a few years back which I understand is a bad comparison but it blew away my mate's UE Megaboom.

Also got my wife the smaller mini 3 which to be honest would suit most situations as it gets plenty loud.

After so many good reviews on here, I'm glad I went with the Anker.

Sound on these is amazing, especially the bass.

Bought a case for mine on AliExpress:

  • This or Tribit Stormbox pro?

Similar price but Tribit has 360 degree sound.

  • This or marshall Emberton?

  • No good for outdoors?

    • It's weatherproof, the only issue might be the Bluetooth reception. A phone next to it would be fine but a laptop in the living room may not cut it.

  • FYI, $95.19 June last year. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/632255
