  • Which one is better ATS-1090 or YAS 109?

    • I believe they're identical

      • They are indeed identical.

I got one of these about a year ago, sounds good, works well 99% of the time but occasionally it will turn off after a few minutes if there is no activity and you wont realise until you hear the TV speaker instead and very occasionally it wont turn on automatically through arc connectivity so you need to turn it on yourself. no issues with bluetooth either. bass is pretty decent, but you can get a seperate subwoofer for it if you want more. i havent bothered with the alexa connectivity.

    • I have the same with my YAS-108 and Hisense TV. Ended up going with toslink and haven't had a problem since

Firmware updates fixed it for me with my 108

        • Cheers! Did not know that was possible

        • New version of app wants to use wifi and won’t find the 108

You can disable auto power standby by holding down power and input selection buttons for 5 seconds. See page 37 of the User manual

      • inch resting, ill give it a shot thanks

You have probably already checked but make sure you have the latest firmware. I had weird stuff going on with my YAS-108 and the firmware update resolved it all.

IMHO the YAS 209 with a wireless sub is a much better buy for $156 more @$385, because while this may give you better sound than your TV's built in speaker, it lacks real bass, compared to the 209 (which is a very highly rated budget 2.1 system) the difference is night and day.

I agree but for those of us living in apartments proper subwoofers are a liability.

  • I hear the clear voice feature really does work well with those hard of hearing.

  • If I replace my $30 PC speakers with these, what will I get other than bass?

But it’s all about that bass… well that’s what Meghan told me ;)
