  • Been looking for a door bell with PoE. It's either this or the top tier Ring. $700 for their entry model (or $560 after discount) is just too rich.

Hikvision has a PoE doorbell for around $200 with everything you need but only issue is that it is Hikvision. Reolink is also set to release a PoE doorbeel in May-June this year.

      • Thanks for the heads up, been waiting for Reolink.

Doorbird has been one of my most disappointing purchases. If I hadn't paid so much for it I would have ripped it out and replaced it, but because of how much I paid I feel I need to make it work for me.

Do you mind sharing what the issues are? Have been considering purchasing this brand.

The main issue is that it integrates with nothing. The api is totally closed so that means no home automation integration unless that has changed very recently. Add to that the fact that it is a very closed system… Want an internal chime, that will be $300 per chime. Latency has been a little annoying, but with the promise of an Australian server that should get better. Camera claims onvif compatibility but it just doesn't seem to want to connect to anything.

        • Hi Masuta, I totally respect your opinion but thought I should jump in here with a correction. Doorbird have an open API and integrates with more brands than any competitor in the category. Please see links below.

          API document - https://www.doorbird.com/api

Brands that are integrated - https://www.doorbird.com/en/connect

          Thanks

          • @MadTechMan: Thanks for your update MadTechMan. I've had my doorbird for about 4 years and as I mentioned had kinda given up as there were promises of integration etc. I hadn't checked in the the last 12 months but I can see from your links that there has been lots of change. I'm still having latency issues but dman99 below suggests that I need to email to get moved onto the Australian server.

            • @masuta: Hi Masuta,

Understood. Please email me your MAC address on [email protected] and I will get it migrated to the Australian server. So far performance improvement has ranged between 30 and 40%.

              Thanks

  • Google Dahua outdoor station VTO3221E-P and indoor monitor VTH2421. My company installed lots of these with great success.

  • Have two units, not perfect but does what I need. I have mine intergraded with Homebridge / homeseer / Homeassistant.

There is a new Australian server but you don’t automatically migrate, you need to email which is a pain but improves latency.
