If you look up @thelordvintage on insta and go through the highlighted story reel called 'The Fun Stuff' you'll see a bunch of videos of them using one of these to clean up vintage upholstery, looks like it works pretty well.

bundled this with $10 credit i was given from SCA earlier this week :) thanks mate

    • +1

Same here. Was waiting for this one to go on sale after passing on the deal for the larger one 2 weeks back. Wanted something more compact.

      • haha exact same here, went on sale at the perfect time

  • +1

    any good?

    • I've had one for 6 months, it's very good, definitely watch some videos. The vacuum cord is short, but it just means you have to move the unit around a bit more than you would if they were longer. Did an excellent job on the car and also where the cat shat in the front doorway carpet of the house…

      • Can I ask why you only had it for 6 months?

Thanks for the tip about the cord length.

        • +2

Assuming Scrobo bought it 6 months ago and still has it.

      • Yeah, hose is short, but power cable is pretty long.

    • Had one for a couple of years.

Use it for both the car as well as spot cleaning stains on the carpets in the house.

      I recommend it.

      • I've always wanted to get one as they're meant to perform great, but I heard these break and leak after a year or so with the seals going faulty or water tank cracking (without an easy way to fix). Has this happened to yours at all?

        • +2

No leaks or cracks in mine. I use it only a handful of times each year though, maybe it is different if you give it a really solid workout. I do basically an annual car deep clean of the seats and then for "accidents" around the house throughout the year.

          • @ferguson: Thanks that's still great to hear. Was worried it might just stop working when I get it out after 6 months in storage after the warranty is out. That's pretty much all I'd wanna use it for, just make the car seats nice, maybe do the fabric couch/dining chairs and then spot cleaning carpet as required.

cant see any special price in my login

    • says price will apply at checkout

  • +2

Don't seem to be getting the discount online. Stays at $269 even when logged in.

  • +1

No discount for me when logged in. Full price. QLD

    • says price will apply at checkout

      • Yep secure checkout while logged in. Full price.

  • no discount even when logged in

    • says price will apply at checkout

checked out and still no discount

        • I would ring them then, others seem to be getting the right price. My sale price is showing just by logging in, not even getting to cart

        • Did you click Checkout Securely? Cause the discounted price shows after that.

  • @OP, the email (I got) from Supercheap says you need to:
    1) Login to your Club Account
    2) Add the product to your cart
    3) Your discount price will apply at the checkout

Works for me and might help those people not seeing the discount price.

    • +2

followed these instructions all the way to payment method input, item still showing full price at 269.99

    • What state you in? Maybe it's location based?

      • +1

WA. suspect as much. i msg the online support on it. he/she mentioned item is no longer available at that price. lol

        • I'm in WA, didn't get the email, but when I logged in I can see the $179 price

  • wow great discount

  • are these good for carpet cleaning?

  • +1

This is great for spot cleaning carpets when the kids or pets make a mess. AS mentioned, don't use it to clean your house with it though, it'll take forever. There's a proper wet vacuum that they sell specifically for house cleaning if that's what you are looking for.

    • thx

    • I would use on my couch and a couple of rugs….?

      • Yep, works great for that.

        • +1

Do you need to buy the bissell shampoo or any detergent will be ok?

  • bought it for $169.99. finally used the $10 voucher

    • how come its showing as full price

  • +2

Got one a while back. The name of the product is accurate. It's a spot cleaner only. Try to do anything bigger than a metre or two will take forever.

The vacuum power isn't great, so couches and stuff will need a fan or a lot longer to dry.

    • +3

Did a couch and a rug just fine. Takes a little longer as the head is so small, but worked a treat. Did multiple passes with the suction only to get all the moisture up.

      • Yeah, but if you had a proper device it would be much quicker/efficient and do a much better job.

I've previously used the Britex hire machines and it was much better than this.

I'm sure hiring a professional to come in with their machine would be even better than the Britex hire machines. So it has its place, people just need to understand the limitations of it like slknv said previously.

        • +2

Yep, it's a spot cleaner ;-) Can do large tasks if you have the patience, but it's a spot cleaner through and through. Perfect for Car, which this item is targeted at.

    • +2

Yeah, these spot cleaners usually have a vacuum power of 8000 Pa.
A good vacuum, even a battery powered one, has at least 20000 Pa.

Been wanting this for a long time. Down to $165.59 using Suncorp Rewards %8

    Thanks!

    • What is the maximum number of gift card allowed on SCA website?

    • I did the same, and also used up the $10 voucher. Nice discount there. Hope it works well.

  • Any shampoo you guys recommend to use with this?

    • +2

I use a very light solution of di-san from Aldi and water

      • Damn. I was just gonna buy the bissell one but that's a way better idea, thanks!

  • If anyone missed it or can't get it, it is on Good Guys commercial for $186 + delivery. Although I've talked Harveys down to $200 for the extended hose model twice for family/friends.

    Bissell SpotClean Carpet Cleaner 36984

  • Used the $10 credit plus Combank 60-$10. Not bad for $159.
Went through Cashrewards but not sure if it is eligible.

    • +2

It is, you should get another $3.78 reduction

  • this might be targeted. Is there a coupon code?

  • I have one of these. They work. Consider just getting a wet and dry vac, and the carpet cleaner spray separately.

    • I've got the latter already, I thought this would do a heaps better job of washing it as it uses probably more liquid than I'd want to or even be able to spray by hand.

  • Can this be used for leather seat or leather sofa

  • thanks OP. got one from my nearest SCA

  • +2

talk about a target ad even seen this on tiktok in the last 48 hours from the same place

    • Same. That's why i bought it.. but at that price im not complaining.

    • Same. I've seen 2 different influencers in the past day doing paid product placements for this thing by super cheap auto.

  • I was thinking of getting when it is on sale in this price range, but this comment a month ago persuaded me otherwise. Is it really that bad? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/683475#comment-11773569

  • I bought this year's ago it's still in the box. Paid $99

    • How did you get it for 99?

  • how would this compare to the machines you can hire at bunnings?

    • Smaller and less powerful.

  • +1

As other comments have noted, good for spot cleaning but your limited for other uses e.g. whole room carpet cleaning, sofas, etc.

I opted for https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/karcher-se5100-spray-extracti… which can be had for $400 on sale.

Need to wait for a sale

  • Honestly, the suction is pretty pathetic.

  • I think this is targeted only, if you do receive the email then you can get the discount

  • Dammit I needed one of these on the weekend urgently. So I went and bought it and paid full price :(

    • +1

If you bought it at supercheap and you are a club member, I believe they automatically provide you with a credit for the difference.

If you bought it elsewhere, perhaps you can buy one at this price to return it to the other place?

      • Cool, thanks I will check it out.

  • Is this different to below one? what's the difference?

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/bissell-spotclean-profession…

  • ah FFS I just bought this at bing-lee for $200.

  • Can anyone recommend detergents we can use with this? The Supercheap ones are out of stock and expensive anyway..

  • +1

Does anyone need one if these but isn't targeted?

I can help you buy it.

    • Thanks - I'm interested, but what's the process?

      • PM me?

        • Thanks!

OzBargain has some wonderful contributors :)

  • I bought the orange one with 3 attachments and 3 years warranty from Uncle Harvey for $210

    • Just bought the turbo from ebay supercheap for $250!

  • Thanks op. Extra $10 off thanks to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/687532 as well.
