    Expensive plywood.

  • +2

Hey OP, just curious to know how many people you get purchasing your pieces of plywood and beanbags for $198-$248?

  • +1

Nearly had a stroke reading that title

  • +3

Jfc at least say it’s ‘artisanal’ or made in Italy or something. And the shipping is not even free for a 69,420% markup? SHEESHHHHHHHH

I recall the time I was cornholed in longbay.

Thanks for the comments. Those who know or play the game of cornhole have seen some of the poor quality equipment on the market. Tournament players just can't get a portable set of quality boards and bags. Beginners usually start with rubbish sets and either have a bad experience or don't continue with the game. These sets include 8 Pro grade Stick and slick tournament grade bags. The boards are furniture grade 12mm Baltic Ply (tournament standard), CNC cut with heavy duty frame, heavy duty legs and stainless steel bolts. The offer is part of an initiative to promote the game and give players a good first experience. All our bags and boards have a 100% 5 star rating.

    • +2

WTF does a "100% 5 star rating" even mean?

I'm sure this is pretty premium as far as cornhole boards/bags go, but still obviously an obscene level of markup, and absolutely not worthy of an OzBargain post.

      • If it helps, from a large number of customers across Australia 100% of them have rated the products and service 5 star. We're proud of that and offer really good value for money. Got to assume you know nothing about cornhole or the equipment. Try having a look at the cost of Pro style stick and slick bags in Aus and the US. Try finding a 1/2 inch tailgate board in Aus and price it, or test your assertion with a furniture factory and use our specs to price it. Add the cost of getting someone to make you a set of 8 pro stick and slick bags and a printed carry case. It's sounding more like a pretty good deal.

This is a very fun game, buttttttt:

OP welcome to Ozbargin with your first post from the No.1 Tailgate Store in Australia selling a grand total of 1 product.

However folks if you look around these sets are not super cheap and have to be made well as they do take a beating.

All the sets that I have played are not just cheap beanbags and crappy wood - there is a bit of a cost in them.

Yes some people with some craftmanship can make these for cheaper no doubt.

Where should the price sit for a quality set - hmmm I'm not sure on that one

Yet no mention of Beavis and Butthead.

I am the great cornholio. Do you have tp for my bunghole?

  • +2

Does it come with T P for my bunghole?

  • +2

First time hearing about this game; not at all tempted.

    • I seen it in some american movies and youtube videos but dont interest me at the slightest either.

  • a lot of people saying you can make it yourself for cheaper, but the hole size is patented

    • +5

Does that mean the cornhole police be measuring people's holes in the middle of the park?

      • +4

Steep fines will be issued by the cornhole association. Jail time for repeat cornhole offenders

        • so the cornhole violations continue!

          • +2

@HeXa: You violate the cornhole rules outside. They violate your cornhole on the inside.

    Waiting for the glory version

It's a steep learning curve for Aussies. Cornhole in the US is as typical as back yard cricket in Australia. A little like tennis, golf, cricket and most sports the quality of playing equipment has a huge range. These Tailgate sets are not toys. Yes you can buy cheap ply from Bunnings, cut a hole in it, sew some bags and fill with sand then chuck them at the board. Good start. You can also cut a cricket bat from an old fence pailing. Did that and had fun. Australia will soon be a member of the World Cornhole Organization and looking to field a team when cornhole becomes an Olympic sport. Players in Australia are already competing in international cornhole tournaments. These tailgate sets are just one part of Australias cornhole evolution. The game is fun, social and addictive. You will not regret getting into it. Test it out at Melbournes Funderdome.

when cornhole becomes an Olympic sport.

      Pressing X for doubt

  • Professional cornhole in the US has a huge television audience and the ACL (American Cornhole League) has been working to establish it as an Olympic sport. If this link works, it's a taste of how exciting and skilled the game can be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWOPC3eJvVU

Tenpin bowling has a huge tv following also. And yet.
      All it could manage is.

Tenpin bowling was an official demonstration sport at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul.

So to say that the american cornhole league has a chance of getting cornhole as an olympic sport is like saying someone with no legs can climb mount everest unaided.

As lloyd from dumb and dumber would say. So youre telling me theres a chance?

      • Hang on.

If breakdancing can be an Olympic sport - as it will be in Paris in 2024 - then literally ANYTHING that's remotely (or not even remotely) sport-related can be an Olympic sport.

        • +1

Never said it wasn't possible. Theres always a chance. No matter how slim said chance is.

    • Definitely looks like a fun picnic game, but I'm not sure the audience is as huge as you're making out, the youtube account you linked has 13k subscribers and none of their videos have over a million views. There are hundreds of non-olympic sports/activites that are many times more popular.

      • The clip was simply to show how great the game can be. 100k views, subscriptions are for the league. If you look at female singles player Kaylee Hunter some of her throws get a million views. Not too shabby. Wonder how many people thought Snowboarding would be an Olympic sport. The beauty is that the game can be played by 3 to 90 year olds, almost any level of ability or disability, is cheap to play, has a great game culture and is now played right across Europe. CNN have a big US audience for televised pro tournaments. It's the peoples game, so maybe one day an Olympic sport for the people rather than the elites.

  • Yep, good observation. Just keeping the dream alive.

Hey mate, OzBargain can be a cruel place. Good on you for answering the nay-sayers in a respectful way - not easy sometimes. I'm not remotely interested in what you're offering, but I fully support your right to offer it. Not that you can help it, but the name of the sport really doesn't help though!

      • +1

Thanks mate, never let the haters get you down. Yep, there's quite a few names for the game. Happy to stick with the Americans on this one given much of the mid-west is covered with corn. The British have left us with lots of hangups. Very much appreciate your good vibe brother. Rather be a maker than a breaker.

  • upvote for the childhood memories

pity it doesn't come with a free goatse inspired cornhole t-shirt

  • I clicked this only because I had no idea what the hell this was. Upvoted for OP's informative replies and to go against OzBargain's cruelty. xD

Nice you have taken the time make a positive contribution. You can't accomplish much if you always fear the haters. It's a privilege when your passion can put a smile on kids faces, give joy to a family activity, share fun and respectful competition with your friends and community.
