Warning on these G series mice - I've had to send in quite a number of RMA requests and the replacements always ended up having the same double clicking issues after a while. Claims of however many millions of clicks are a bunch of crock.

Been using a wired G502 for nearly 5 years now; had no problems whatsoever. Can't speak for the wireless version, though the switches in the mouse shouldn't have changed, right?
Have also had a cheaper G300s, the middle mouse click died within 2-3 years of everyday use. My G502 is still holding up very well though with hours of use per day.

      • They started using new switches from the G903 onwards. G502 Proteus variants would have predated that.

They've apparently updated the switches again since the release of the GPX, though not sure if that caries over the entire range.

        • My 903 had double click also

@thesainter: Same. I'm attempting self repair.

It might be just me but I find all of my black gaming Logitechs wear very fast where fingers rest. The soft finish of the plastic wears to shiny looking. It looks very unsightly and I'm getting annoyed by it.

I had a wired G502. The scroll wheel died after 2 years. Replaced it with a wired G402 (was on OzBargain). The left mouse button stopped working after 2 years… I googled G402 left mouse button and every post said "blow on it". I blew on it… and the button began working again. It's still working. I prefer Logitech mice, but I've been having more issues recently compared with my old MX510 and MX518 (back when I was an actual hardcore gamer).

        • +2

MX518 MASTER RACE! Been meaning to buy the new version

      • My non-Hero G502 had it start happen semi recently, so it lasted a good 6 years also…but it was only use sparingly at ~2hrs home daily for the first 5 years and only lasted a year in the office used 8-10 hrs daily.

I've just mapped left click to the G8 button for and will just soldier on until that fails too.

I have a wired and a wireless one - no issues with either. Love em.

    • I had the issue with the dodgy switch also. Got it changed after jumping through a number of hoops. Using a MX Master 3 now. The scroll wheel is so much better than the G5 and G9's.

    • I had the doluble click issue also, its a gaming mouse so it does get abused. But the good thing is, you can replace the click switches faily easy.

      • If it's anything like the g903 replacing them is a fairly long process although it's not super difficult.

You more or less have to disassemble the entire mouse to access the buttons.

        • I agree, its not super difficult, took me half an hour.

    • I've bought a total of 3 g502 (wired), 2 hero and 1 of the first models and have never had any double clicking issues. I think it is a common issue but I've never run into it. This is with at least 2 hours of gaming everyday, uni work and general use, only had to replace my first as my puppy bit the wire (he's fine).

      • I'm the same; I've used multiple wired variants over the years and none have ever had an issue. Still currently using a hero one as my daily, which sees 4+hours gaming per day. Also have another hero on my son's PC.

They absolutely do millions of clicks, however that's only when the user wanted a dozen clicks :(

      Source: G900, 2 x G903, G502.

    • Got mine in mid 2019 and never had the double click issue. The USB receiver did completely die on me in early 2020 but Logi support got in contact with Harvey Norman and I was able to swap it for a new one.

Still not sure if it was my PC that fried the receiver…

    • At this price, just buy a couple spares for when this problem appears, if it even does. This is a great price

  • curious to know the difference between this and the g604, besides the side buttons? im running g502 wired and g604, happy with them both.

    • More or less the same
The g502 is lighter, which is the main appeal.

Been using this one for over a year now, it's a good mouse. Have had the double click issue on previous G Logitechs but not this one so far. I upgraded from the Basilisk Hyper X as it was a bit bare bones for my usage.

  • +1

Is it not a bit impractical to have your mouse travel at 299 792 458 m/s?

    • I want a FTL one, so this is no good.

  • +2

I had the double click issue on a G403 mouse 1.5 years in. I found that Logitech were super easy to deal with.

After submitting my issue and receipt, they initially advised me that they were out of stock at the time of the G403 and offered me a replacement G502, or G603. I asked them nicely if I could get a G703 instead as I wanted something that was the same weight as my G403 (as the G603 was a bit heavier) and they upgraded me.

So whilst it sucks that the double-click issue occurred, I can appreciate that sometimes this can happen as they no doubt source components from other manufacturers. What is more important is how they deal with it, and in my case they were a pleasure to deal with. Not saying that this is or will be the case for everyone, but I thought I would share a different experience. I wonder if they have changed switches for newer mice?

  • G&W Store has next day delivery for the same $117. Thanks Op, bought one for office use.

Question: Are these locally distributed stock, or grey import? How will it impact on warranty claim? Not easy to find information of such on Amazon/seller's website.

    • This particular model number matches local oz shops' stocks' model numbers so yes, I would say they are AU models.

      • Does invoice have to come from an authorised reseller to claim directly with Logitech? (Despite model number is a local model)?

Aware it can be done directly via Amazon. But when this is gifted or onsold, the next owner will need to deal with Logitech?

Sorry, silly questions. Given the double clicking issue, curious on this topic.

        • Ah sorry I havent personally dealed with logitech support so not sure about these things.

I dont think warranty carries over to a second owner but I could be wrong.

This one is grey import, listing and part number on product doesn’t match

      • Received from G&W, and it is a PRC version with different model number.

But eVisionAU might be selling the HK/SG/AU version (I have an AU version to, checked the box and it's for SG/AU/HK distribution), maybe someone else can confirm.

  • Besides the hyper scroll and layout diff is this double the price better then Razer Basilisk or the Orochi 2?

    • Not really.

BTW the Orochi 2 is a different mouse to these two, thats more a lightweight gaming mouse, these two are much heavier.

    • I was thinking of picking up this or Razer Basilisk for office use.

Decided to pay up as I am very comfortable with the G502 at home. It just feels "right" from an ergonomic point of view. Previously used a few other Logitechs - Master MX, M705, M510, nothing came close.

One thing to add regarding the scroll wheel, the G502 supporting scrolling side way.

    • Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed or Razer Basilisk Ultimate? Objectively, I think the G502 Lightspeed lies somewhere in the middle. I personally have the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed and an original wired G502. Having used both of those I prefer the G502 and bought a Lightspeed as an upgrade.

Daaamm…. this mouse is half the price of my whole PC system! Clicking in an Excel spreadsheet will be so much fun now.

Wooosh to the 3 Neggers.. haha

  • Pitty no bluetooth

  • Damn, I just spent $119 on this two days ago!

    • +1

I spent $151 from the same store about a week ago!!!

Going to buy this lower price one and returning the higher price purchase with the lower priced unopened item of course and reap the savings. Amazon return policy ftw!

  • Have been using my G502 for 7 years now no issues. Was looking at this since I have stopped using my MX Master since I'm lazy to plug it in. Any deals on the Powerplay mouse pad - or is there something better value that solves this problem?

    • I have a G502 Lightspeed. The battery life isn't so bad, and I've been wfh everyday. Charging once a week or so.

Having said that, I've been looking into various different charging options. One was to put an extender into the USB socket and then use those magnetic charging cables. It works, but it's not as cool as I thought it'd be. Another is to get a third party dock. At the bottom of the mouse there's a little puck that pops out for extra weight and for the Powerplay system. There are two contact pads which I guess are negative and positive terminals for 5v charging. AliExpress has some docks that utilise those contact pads. You can also get a puck that will enable Qi charging.

      Hope that helps.

      • Thanks, 1 week battery life is quite good actually - might reconsider if that's the case.

    Sub $100 waiting room

  • Been using this since it came out, haven't had any issues! Amazing mouse, best mouse I've used so far

  • Got this on the Christmas deal, I use this strictly for gaming/extra buttons and revert back to an mx master 3 for regular use. I couldn't use it for extended use after trying, the scroll whell and buttons feel cheap in comparison to the mx.

  • +1

I currently use a g502 Hero wired mouse and love it - went ahead and bought this one because it must be good!

    • Wired is best. I bought one recently as well. I haven't seen a pro gamer use wireless yet… ;)

  • does rgb color save on the mouse?
hate how razers kb and mouses have spectrum rainbow and u cant save it on the hw and needs synapse to load up

  • Sorry guys, this might sound like an idiot question but:
How do I charge it and/or does it come with charging cable?
Thank you, will buy after someone explains it to me haha

    • micro usb cable

  • Is anyone else getting 910-005571 delivered to them or just me?

    • Did you get it from eVisionAU or G&W? My G&W one has model number 910-005571.

      • I purchase from eVision. I’ve checked with Logitech and they said since this is overseas SKU they won’t cover the warranty and will have to go back to the seller.
