Found this deal on Amazon AU outright, with free delivery in AU. Purchased one already after working for years with an MX Master 2S for work, hard to beat Logitech's Magspeed scroll wheel and the side scroll wheel.

This is the Business Edition, so be advised that it will not work with Logitech Unifying receivers, as it comes and only works with the new Logitech Bolt receivers (mod note: unconfirmed). These are supposed to offer lower latency response and a more secure communications protocol than the older Unifying receivers use.

The mouse can also connect directly with Bluetooth, supporting up to Bluetooth 5.

    • I'n not sure which version this is, on the top it says SKU: 910-005710, which is the SKU for the Business version, while in the specifications it shows SKU: 910-005698.

  • +2

Dont forget the business version comes with 2 year warranty too

    a more secure communications protocol

Phew. I have always worried about my mouse inputs being intercepted!

    • Sure, it's not like you can intercept an unencrypted communications protocol between an external input device connected to a USB dongle and emulate any kind of HI(D) device to send whatever input one may want.

      • +3

Haha yeah, I know it's probably pretty good for a range of input devices that use that protocol, including a mouse, just made me laugh thinking about people caring about my mouse movements is all!

        • +3

Haha, fair, it's not a big worry for most people or even businesses.

But I've worked in industries where these kinds of attacks were a worry, as the vector of attack is by sniffing the mouse to dongle communication protocol, figuring out the authentication protocol and registering as a wireless keyboard with the computer that the dongle is connected to. From there, it's pretty trivial to bring up a terminal and install a rootkit, especially if you have access to any kind of zero-day exploit.

          • +1

@Johanu: The kind of businesses (and government agencies) that care about this sort of stuff wouldn't be using any sort of wireless device in the first place and ban any plug in devices.

        • Well.. You wouldn't want to be setting up veracrypt without it! It uses mouse movements as a random way of generating the security key

I'm kidding. Who cares. It's just an interesting hypothetical

          • @justtoreply: I am a pretty positive person, I don't assume people will spoof my inputs for bad purposes. Someone might do my work?!

But yeah, I bet y'all glad that I don't sort out cybersecurity.

I like the deal - I have the unsafe version of this mouse!

          • @justtoreply: Right? It's not like most people connect their home security to their routers and then broadcast a way to connect a keyboard to a computer that connects to the router or anything.

As if anyone would be interested in that.

        • -1

Mouse is a relatively low risk device but note that unifying receivers are used for keyboards as well.

    • Google knows about your movements, Apple even more about your financial spending & app use. But now you expose your wrist movements.
They know everything about you/us & you/we are more famous ;)

      • +1

Did you say expose wrist movements! They better encrypt it. Lol.

  • Hey.. If you use bluetooth instead of the receiver, how does the 1-2-3 device button work? Does the mouse swap protocols depending on which device?

    • +1

There is a selector button on the bottom for three Bluetooth connections. At least there is on my non-business version

    • +1

Yes, the 1-2-3 button underside does swap between any mix of Bluetooth and Logitech Unifying receivers, freely assigned (I forgot how haha). I don't know about business version of this mouse except that the Logitech Bolt receiver itself encapsulates Bluetooth as well, so less interference, far better reception than the Unifying receiver for those computers with only USB and for some reason without Bluetooth connectivity options…

  • +3

I can't see if this comes with the Bolt receiver?

    • -1

Buyer be aware: Amazon pictures Unifying receiver logo adjacent to the generic Bluetooth logo.
      https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71wx6hJb+CL.AC_SL1500.jpg

So, it's arguably not the "for Business" edition with Bolt receiver logo besides the generic Bluetooth logo.

    • +1

just got mine. It comes with unifying receiver with its logo underneath the mouse. I don't see any mention of "for business" on the box nor the mouse. Different than the website's.
I have an existing one with gray colour.
      - Gray (910-005698); this (910-005710)
      - Gray (1-year warranty; this (2-year)

    • +1

Just received my mouse today as well and can confirm that it's a standard MX Master 3 with a regular unifying receiver. No mention of Business Edition or Bolt Receiver which sucks. Its also grey and not Black (Noir) as promised. Not terribly disappointed but not pleased either.

  • I'll work with the unsafe version on the mx master 3. It's a great mouse though

  • will this work well with an iPad too?

    • +4

Only if you flip the ipad and use it as a mouse pad

      • bhahahaha no so huh? is this the same one as the one listed a few days ago from Umart

        • -1

The one from Umart comes with a Unifying receiver and this one uses a bolt receiver instead, so better latency and more secure according to Logitech.

          • @NotaSpender: ohhh Thanks! and yet it is still shitty to use on an IPad huh. should consider buying though

  • This mouse makes me feel like Batman

  • Went to this from mx master 2s, don't like its scroll compared to the old one! Not as fast….

  • On the Logitech website
    MX Master 3 for Business
    the part number is 910-006200

So what's the difference compared to 910-005710 ?

    • Logi Bolt vs Unifying receiver
2 years warranty vs 1 year

    • It's black, I got one of these for my work/home office and the normal grey one I use for home. So can easily tell the difference.

  • Im wondering if noir and graphite colour options are literally the same…

    • Noir is black and graphite is dark grey

  • +1

I read that with the Bolt receiver, you need the software to pair it, and it only works with one USB port, so if you were hoping to use it as a conventional wireless mouse amongst different computers, it wouldn't work without software (an issue if you can't install software on the computer you're trying to use it on).

  • +1

    Good deal.

  • And i just got my Master 2 delivered last week for $75. But terrific mouse though. Very comfortable.

    • Where did you buy it from?

      • +1

If I had to guess it’s $74.99 on Kogan but Grey Import.

        • +1

          Yep.

  • I bought it last year… Can confirm it comes with the unifying receiver instead of the bolt one

  • any long term review on the rubber coating ? Lots of people complain that the rubber area where your thumb and pinky rest will be worn out after a few months.
The hidden button beneath the thumb rest will also cave in after awhile

    • ive had 5 mx masters over the years and even my first one still works fine. The rubberized coating gets dirty, but I've never had it wear away or the button collapse. My Master 3 has been going on strong in too. If Logitech release a master 4, I'll definitely buy it. It's the perfect mouse for me. The horizontal scroll is perfect for spreadsheets

  • Thank you OP, bought one.

  • OOS

  • oh no it is gone :(

  • +1

Business edition should come in with all the smarts enabled. My MX master functions don't work because they lock the computer down and don't permit Logitech options

    • +1

      Ouch..

It so shouldn't be called business edition then if it's so limited..

Most business computers are locked :/

  • Seems to still be orderable, but long wait times.

  • +2

Why they don't have one for left-handed ppl?

  • +1

Just got mine. FYI nothing about Bolt on the (rather plain) package. Got a Unifying reciever in the box which needed a firmware update, after that paired OK and all working well.

Wasn't worried about Bolt so all good, but YMMV.

  • +1

Got mine from this deal, went to register the product, nothing specifying that its the "business edition". Amazon ended up giving me a further 20% off for an incorrect product.

Not sure if anyone else had this issue.
